hahaha just finished doing this myself- here in Rochester, NY. I cut mine back (the foliage) every spring- with the exception of the flowers. I'm always amazed how it completely rejuvenates itself each year. A plant that is truly indestructible!
@@plantvibrations couldn't agree more! However, I think my favorite plant that you can set and forget, are sedums- absolutely love them. Cut them back early spring, and that's it! beautiful foliage during the summer and lovely flowers in the fall. Plus nothing seems to bother them. Can you tell i'm ready to be in the garden?! haha
Thanks for this Devin, I would never have thought of cutting hellebore leaves back like that. I may well give it a go this year as some of mine are getting quite tatty. Also, I love that you cut them right back, then flipped to a new frame where you'd had your hair cut... I don't know whether that was intentional ;-)
Hi Devin, well done thank you for the infomation about the beautiful hellebore plant . Have anice day .
Have a great day!

Sweet!! it truly is one of my favorites, its ability to look good for so long throughout the year AND produce stunning flowers is incomparable

When should we cut the flower stems or don't we? I am a new grower of these and they are expensive I don't want to ruin them.

Hahaha I did not do that on purpose, Mother Nature is playing jokes on us haha
Hi Devin! Will you be raking up the leaves that are surrounding them or do you leave them there to break down to compost?
I leave them there!!
@@plantvibrations Too right - that's why we call them 'leaves'!
