sweet I had the same car with the 305 when I bought it the 305 was bad so I built a 355 small block turbo 350 transmission and put in it those cars many of them I'm not sure if they all did came with positraction rear end and quiet things fun to drive.
Wow what a beauty. I had a 75 2+2 small V8. I put on black vinyl stripes like this Spyder along under the doors. Added a spoiler. Put in stereo speakers like this car also. Car was white with red leather seats. Nice looking car, sadly it rusted out on me.
They say muscle cars died in 1973, but it wasn't very hard to turn these into the very definition of a muscle car: "typical 2 door, rear wheel drive, high horsepower V-8 (after some modifying in this case) and sporty looks and graphics packages". I knew a guy who stroked the 305 in his to 331 and was getting 425+ hp and over 400 ft. lbs. of torque on pump gas @ a little over 10:1 compression. That thing was quick!
At least, by then this Monza hatchback coupe beared the bowtie in red and blue background on the hood. Until 1980, both version had it on front grill. Also a few ambar turn lights were added for the last models.
I love the monzas, mustang ii's etc, but there's no aftermarket for those cars so you need to fabricate and adapt a bunch and I'm not that good.... cool car though.
Yeah when I owned my Monza in 79-80 (I was29) I would say it was the BEST two years of my life. Not a care in the world, many woman and debauchery around LOL
I think the 75 model had a 350 with auto which was gutless, the 305 with 4 speed worked much better if the rear end and wheels could tolerate it for very long? The 80 modeld that I had was probably the nicest paint and decal packages on the Spyder of all the years but You had to put your own V8 in as it was no longer a option
My brother and I had a '75 2+2 4 cylinder in the 80's. I sure wish we had taken care of that car. Watching this brings back lots of good memories.
I had a 1979 Monza spyder with 305ci and 4 speed manual loved the car

Loved those with the Saginaw Pancake Smasher although I have no idea how it got that nickname.

Nice. I partied in one of these in the 80's. What a blast
It's like a mini Camaro!
Used to be one of these in my neighborhood when I was a little kid.

Super sharp! Few of these around
I'd lower it a bit tho.
Gag what is it with people and lowering cars lol that being said I do on a couple cars that are lowered.
@@curte7739 it can better the handling of the car and looks better and can improve a smoother ride
This thing would surprise any little Honda Civic boy!
I can't wait ..when I get my monza finished. I'm going to shred my honda. Pos. Car.
I had a silver one just like that years ago
I have one right now having a lot of trouble finding part
Front suspension and hubs/brakes etc can be replaced with 78 and up G body parts and the rest is universal GM in exception of interior

That my daddy first car!!!
Price?
Pretty nice car, but it's got too much aftermarket crap on it.
A rare car with a 350 V8 4spd transmission
Mine had a 350 44 speed
What it was to be young

👍❤️
4 speed
Was this the rival to the Mustang II King Cobra?
The Mustang Cobra II and yes it was a rival.
@@billmetal I think the Monza had more V8 engine choices, whereas the Cobra and the King Cobra had only one.

@@jondoe1457 Your '80 had a V6? I thought the V8's carried through to the end of production.
Stupid pointless advertisements beforehand complete waste of everyone's time
Cool little car I love it
