For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a stellar 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The combination of the bright red paint, tinted windows, and polished wheels are sure to stand out in any parking lot or show you choose to grace with your presence. Out with small and in with the big block, 454 that is. Pop the hood and you'll see the beast shining back at you with a chrome air cleaner and the chrome valve covers, it is also fitted with a Demon carburetor. To help put the power to the pavement is a 400 turbo transmission with a Hughes converter with a 2200-2500 RPM stall speed. A new Yukon Duro Grip posi-track 336 rear end completes the transfer to the staggered stance Boyd Coddington wheels. Up front you have 245/40ZR18's and in the rear you have massive 295/30ZR18 tires. Power Brakes and Power Steering are two more comforts that help ease the stop and go driving during your cruise down the Boulevard. As you look inside you'll notice a new headliner, door panels, and carpet. Tilt the wheel upward for easy entry and exits. Tune in the classics on the AM/FM radio, or go back in time and slide in your favorite cassette tape. The 1972 Monte Carlo was the final year for the first generation design. In 1972 Chevrolet wanted to change the market position of the Monte Carlo to a personal luxury car, and the manual transmission was discontinued, to which the new car brochure simply stated "Sorry, no four-on-the-floor." The lack of a manual transmission did not hurt sales for the Monte Carlo, as the 1972 model year production increased significantly to 180,819 to set a new record in the final year for the first-generation A-body. Freaking awesome
Well, if you’d get those front parking lights working and fix the reverse lights so they’re not on all the time, I’d probably be more interested. Other than those problems, very sharp ride!
