Ron Howard actually got put in full makeup and costume for the Grinch after Jim complained about it and Ron indicated it wasn’t that bad… it infuriated Jim further.

So here's what i came up with, right. 8 hours of makeup multiplied by 100 times he had to get the makeup applied. Is 8*100=800 Then you take 800 hours and divide it by the amount of hours in a day(24 hours) for the amount of time spent in makeup per-day, so that is 800/24=33.3 He spent 33 days in a chair waiting to start his job as an actor!!!!

The only reason it was hard for him is because he was also able to make that kind of money without dressing up like that and you already had Millions at the time. But the normal people you wouldn't even need no CIA torture training you could literally sit there and count the amount of dollars you're making every second
His efforts were worth it. My son fell in love with Jim's version of the Grinch at 3 and it still remains his favorite movie to date. He watches it ALL YEAR LONG.
