Future gohan's death is the most painful because this is the kid you've been growing up with in DBZ. And now he's gone, and no coming back ever this time. We've lost him... Like someone real that means a lot to you has died.

But In the context of Dragon Ball It originally wasn't. Although we call the good timeline the Main timeline because it's the one we follow it's still the product of time travel changing events that happened. Trunk's future (and sadly, the one that would become the Cell timeline that Trunks dies in) is the true Main timeline. That was the original Gohan who died. The original Goku, Vegeta, Krillen, and the others who died long ago...

Bartek Are you stupid? He never used Super as fact. He said that the original Gohan, the REAL gohan from the true timeline is dead and is never coming back and that's heart breaking because we've grown up with him for all of these years, same with the rest of the Z fighters. No matter how we look at it, that shitty dismal 'alternate timeline' is how things should have really gone had trunks not gone to their timeline
You kinda have to us Super as fact, since Super is 100% canon no matter how much naysayers bitch and whine about it. You may not like it...but that doesn't make it any less canon....

Yeah Future Gohan's death probably isn't the saddest but the music makes it sadder.
Don't forget Vegetas attonement. I was crying for weeks as a little kid.
Literally, the only meaningful and painful death ever in the Dragon Ball universe. also by far the most interesting and fucked up but amazing timeline.
To think that wasn't even an alternate timeline. It was the main timeline until Trunks time travelled.
16 was a meaningful death, poor guy was born to do evil and died alone

Three words: Krillin's First Death. Everyone else are just having fun when Goku remembers that he forgot the Four-Star Ball at the tournament arena and Krillin runs off to grab it for him. But then Goku starts getting more and more uneasy to the point that he doesn't even touch his food. And then Goku imagines hearing Krillin screaming for him and rushes off to find Krillin, only for him to find, to his horror, that he was too late and Krillin was already dead.
@@wiibrockster Yeh and that timeline got worse. Trunks lost his mum and he lost everything that mattered to him. He very rarely got a break from the hellish timeline....Buu/Androids without the Z fighters to back him up then have a zealot Kai take everything from him with Mai barely surviving until he had to return back in time again just to later have his entire universe wiped out by god. No wonder Trunks turned into a Berserk form because he had enough.

Couldn't future Gohan and future trunks train in the time chamber to get even stronger?? And couldn't they go to new namek to get the dragon balls and wish everyone back??
@@yourmomisgay1288 Plot hole. The RoSaT didn't exist when this movie came. (it came with Trunks debut I think.. Could be wrong tho)
And new Namek also didn't exist. I guess the Dragon ball Super continuity didn't wanna add new Namek to further promote Trunks's pain. Which imo kinda failed, because we have the Super Dragon Balls, a stronger set of Earth Dragon balls and New Namek.
@@yourmomisgay1288 No stop being a dumbass. They could not go to New Namek, nobody knew where it was, Goku was dead so there was no possibility of him getting the Coords from King Kai, and even if King Kai told them Coordinates, they would've never been able to find it because New Namek is so far it away it would've taken decades.
To top it off, by the time Goku got the heart virus and died of it, it wasn't even a full year by the time the Androids arrived, they arrived 6 months post Goku's death, not giving ANYONE ANY TIME to even think about trying to go to new namek. So Goku died, the Androids arrived 6 months later after Goku's death, and everyone including Piccolo was killed.
By that point it only took a short amount of time for the Androids to wreak havoc on the world, basically stopping Bulma from getting any supplies to actually create a ship and fly to new Namek, but forget that cause they wouldn't even know where it is. It was better that she made the time machine, because she could barely scrounge up supplies for the Time Machine.
The only reason anything lasted that long was cause the two evil future Androids were having their "fun", otherwise Gohan would've been long dead and not there to teach Trunks, 13 years later, and there wouldn't be any remaining "grocery stores"
So no, there was no time for any of that. Case Closed.
@@yourmomisgay1288 My guess? With Kami dead (because Piccolo died fighting the androids) it may not have been possible to access the Time Chamber anymore. It's possible that the Time Chamber can only be used when there is a living Guardian on the Lookout. It's also possible that they never went to the lookout for fear of the androids just following them there and possibly trapping them in the Time Chamber by just destroying the door (and with no Guardian left, they would have had no way to get back out either).

1. They didn't know about the chamber.
2. They had no way to get to new Namek even if they knew where it was.
God this sounds so sad the first part then the rest make you feel like your gonna avenge someone.

When you started the guitar that Gohan's last stand with one arm crossed my eyes, that scene just shows gohan is the most badass character of all time in dbz, he faught alone # one arm kamehameha in cell saga was of tribute to future gohan. #easteregg
Hopefully if they bring back super they have Gohan do more, he's one of my favorite characters from dbz and they kinda ruined him in super

Damn a tribute to one of the dopest of the series took on both androids without 1 arm them Bastards still kept it awesome with the soundtrack never expected a cover for this
Imaging if they would have show this events as the MAIN timeline (because it was) in the manga/anime. And then you'll see Trunks time travel and change the events. It would have been the darkest DB would have been for a long time. Chapter after chapter seeing everyone dying, without knowing how they would have fix it. I would have love it, since the Trunk's story is really the only one that one can feel attach to it, since there is no deus ex machina dragon balls to fix anything with a wish. Speaking of imaging, Masako X kinda did something like this with his What if Future Gohan survive, love that story. That's all moving on, amazing cover btw.

The darkest forms of DBZ, first time I watched this movie, I was almost traumatized when I was a young lad.
Easily one of saddest and darkest song for character death. The song is so haunting and very beautifully sounded. It’s the perfect song for Future gohan death
