This is the version Ganondorf danced to while winning over the hearts of the Gerudos to follow him. You can’t be an influence in their culture if you can’t cut a rug.
How cool is it that we all knew this song was a bop when we heard it in the game as kids and now we can all collectively acknowledge that it's a badass song as adults. So cool.
You're literally on the internet and you're acting like only a certain group of people know this song. Why do you think people have only heard it as kids and obviously only a certain group of people? UA-cam is nearly 20 years old and this game is longer. Do you know how many Ocarina of Time let's plays and series are on the internet?

1 level: only melody 2 level: chords 3 level: melody and bass 4 level: melody, bass and acompanniment 5 level: the entire song with a one guitar 6 level: FLAMENCO
For those who don't know: Gerudo Valley was HEAVILY inspired by Flamenco despite the Gerudo architecture being inspired by The Desert Peoples of Northern Africa, including Egypt. This is because Flamenco originated and evolved from these places when The Desert Peoples once settled what is now known as Spain before being pushed out.
You should also acknowledge the fact that Arabic nations had a huge impact on Spanish culture, which can be seen in a slight resemblance between Spanish and Middle Eastern music. So yeah, it kinda makes sense
@@philosos4566 southern Spain, yes. Which is where Spanish Roma - or Gitano - reside. There’s a really great mix of Arabic, Romani, and Spanish culture there. Also the word Gypsy derived from European people thinking Roma were from Egypt, when we are originally from North India. That being said, Egyptian culture is also badass so its not exactly an offensive mistake that people thought that lol.
The Islamic caliphate conquered all of North Africa and much of Spain after the collapse of the Eastern Roman Empire. The Moors occupied Spain from 711 to 1492, over 700 years - this was part of the reason for the crusades in the middle ages, the European Christians were trying to reconquer lands and cities that previously belonged to North African and Middle Eastern Christians. Constantinople, Alexandria, Jerusalem were all Christian capital cities conquered by the caliphate.
So fantastic to hear a person who obviously plays this style of music perform this song at a high level of proficiency and even improvising new lines for the melody
Frankly, I wouldn't want him to! One of my favorite things about Kondo is that he makes such legendary music yet its so simple that you have guys like this who can take his stuff and make it all their own without ever taking away the source. Seriously, Zelda music is probably the most remixed/covered/re-orchestrated music out there, but each version is just different enough they can all exist uniquely yet still be the same song. One of my best gaming memories is still from when I was playing Ocarina of Time and I saw the sign at the canyon leading to Gerudo Valley for the first time telling you “Don’t jump!” So of course my spiteful self says “Nah, I’m doing it”. So Link does the most graceful swan dive ever to this song, and even though I effectively did nothing, I still felt badass doing it. Loved the song ever since.
The yellow one is better playing the guitar, but the red one is better clapping hands. rsrs.. Saudações do Brasil!! Saúde e Paz pra você e sua família!! Sucesso!!
Great example how a relatively simple 4 chord song created for a video game can be incredible beautiful if you have a creative composer and a talented musician.

Your covers are so sick. The Gerudo Valley song is probably my favorite Legend of Zelda song of all time and you did an awesome cover of it
I like how you brought the song home to it's native country of Spain. It was born far away from home and has been longing to return ever since.
Complete with improv. Not know much about Flamenco, I would say you really brought it home.
This is the only cover I've ever heard of this song that I like. It is... Perfect. You didn't just copy what concept Kondo had to begin with but you extrapolated the sound out in to some rich tapestry that I think is what would have happened if sound design wasn't so restricted when the game first came out on the 64. Bravo. That was amazing.
3:35 When Link meets Guile for few seconds.
I noticed that!
*Ganondorf waggles his eyebrows suggestively with a rose in his teeth*
man seeing his left hand fingers just move so smoothly and stressless from chord to chord is just amazing
cant wait till the stifffness get outta my hands finally
He hit all the right notes. And then just kept on hitting them. Perfection.
This song makes me picture Link riding off into the sunset after saving the kingdom with Zelda in his arms and a rose between his teeth.
Love that lick at 4:07. I said “ah that’s that’s so good” out loud when I heard it and then rewatched it like five times lol
You warned me and I still wasn't ready
This isn't a cover... This is an overshadow...
This is PEAK Gerudo Valley. I can't even imagine how Kondo could out-Gerudo-Valley this version of Gerudo Valley.
This dude is yhe devil in the guitar and I mean it in the best way possible I love it really can't get enough of it just wow thank you so much so much respect 👏
1:42 That's just too beautiful man!
Agreed
Always fun to hear someone play around with the melody when they understand it inside out.
4:42 that run was tight man... well done. The whole thing was great. Took me back to my N64 days lol!
This is THE best version of this song... I come back and listen to it over and over.

This is art. Truly beautiful. Turned music from a game that is already iconic into music anyone can appreciate without context. Best rendition of the song ever.
And to think, when I was younger I thought the metal covers were tasty...
Little did I know how much I needed a fully realised flamenco version until now.
This goes hard. 🔥
I usually don't bother watching gerudo valley covers, because it's so overdone. But I'm glad I did, because now I won't bother listening to any others than this one! You blew it out of the park dude, greatest Gerudo cover I've ever heard and one of the best guitar covers of any piece I've listened. Great job, now I need to look at your other stuff too.
Directo en el corazón ♥ era tan solo un niño cuando abrí la caja donde venía el nuevo video juego de Zelda "Ocarine of Time", mi papá pensó que sería un buen regalo... si que escogió bien. Gerudo Valley since I was a kid, now I'm 31, just a master piece!!!
This is definitely the best version of Gerudo Valley I've ever heard in my life
One of my best gaming memories is still from when I was playing Ocarina of Time and I saw the sign at the canyon leading to Gerudo Valley for the first time telling you “Don’t jump!”
So of course my spiteful self says “Nah, I’m doing it”.
Sucesso!!
This is probably the best cover of this song. I love how you added your own twist on it
Pure magic from beginning to end, brings a tear to my eyes to hear a childhood theme coupled with flamenco swagger
Great example how a relatively simple 4 chord song created for a video game can be incredible beautiful if you have a creative composer and a talented musician.
I love how he gets through the general idea of the song and I'm thinking "Ok that was pretty awesome...wait...we're only halfway though the song. He's going to just go off isn't he."
Hell yeah he is. Amazing version.
Best version of Gerudo Valley Ive ever heard. Amazing my dude
His first 2 fingers have broken more hearts than any 2 men that have ever lived. Take that Dos Equis guy.
this is straigh up fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There will literally never be a better rendition of this. Period.
AMARILLO DEFINITIVAMENTE AME LA PARTE EN MINUTO 3:50
I need multiple “like buttons” for this
😊
I never really get tired of this song and it is never forgotten. I still remember it.
this is probably what koji kondo was thinking of when originally writing the song. great cover
Fuck off, this guy is too good!!! I just wanted to get some inspiration as a beginner guitar player and I get smacked by this dude. Seriously though, thanks for this. I've got an idol to work up to.
Chills. Literal chills.
Greeting from Japan, the home country where the Zelda series originated by Nintendo! Your performance is awesome!!! I'd like to share your video with Japanese gaming guys who loves the Zelda series. They must like it!
I watch cover songs all the time and never comment nor hardly hit like. Even subscribed. Always love seeing an artist know their style and the way the passion flows from your fingers, I have to say this must be your style. Absolutely amazing
Ole!!!! Best arrangement of this piece i had ever seen
You will never be able to convince me that the Gerudos do not have frikkin' Mariachis. Not after this.
