The fact that (at least the last time I checked) the people in the Jubilee comments were saying that the Guy who kept interuppting Marko when he was talking about passing a trans genocide bill were saying how childish and rude he is,.. is Insane to me. @@Ace-mw9pm the fact that puberty isnt reversible either. meaning you are now forcing someone to go through puberty when they are not in a mental headspace to possibly handle the consequences of that. i denied puberty blockers as a kid when my puberty started at 5 years old. i was NOT physically or mentally ready to handle the consequences of puberty and it has given me disabilities and mental illness that i will NEVER recover from. not to mention - hormone therapy is reversible and puberty blockers are not known to cause problems either. i will have to have multiple surgeries and possible hormone therapy BECAUSE i didn't get puberty blockers as a child, not to mention the mental healthcare necessary - and i'm not even trans. i have very little personal experience with dysphoria, but even that is incredibly mentally taxing on me, i couldn't possibly imagine having to be forced through a puberty where every single thing is giving you more and more dysphoria. no one is saying "just do random surgeries on minors bc they said so", but removing all gender affirming healthcare for minors is NOT the solution. minors get surgeries. 16 year olds get nosejobs. 15 year olds get breast reductions. should this care just be banned because there is a small regret rate?

A child getting nose surgery only for the fact that they broke their nose and it’s going to heal wrong. Breast reduction for minors because they’re breast will cause back issues or some other medical reasons, these are all valid reasons. What’s not a valid reason in my and most sane adults around the world’s opinion. Is doing these things for kids just to affirm there gender because they might feel like the opposite gender that day. What would be better is getting a kid therapy. Because why is there way more people wanting to be trans in California than anywhere else in America. Is it because a bunch of trans kids are just being born in California. Or is it learned behavior, expedited by parents affirming their child’s delusions.

I understand why you'd want to go the "I'm seeing the middle here you guys are so extreme" route, I've been there. The issue is that (just like the pro choice question) the sides are "leave it up to the professionals, the families, and the children to make an educated decision" and "No". Leave it up to the families IS the middle ground, but no one is arguing to force kids to transition, so it seems like it's not.
The idea of middle ground is so annoying to me. I'm never compromising about things like this.

I got top surgery when I was 17, sometimes it happens if you're a minor but you
1) have to have been out as trans for 2 years
2) usually have to be on testosterone for at least 6 months, which you can't get until you've been out for at least 1 year
3) not previously been on hormone blockers bc if a trans kid knows that early, they won't grow boobs in the first place until they go off of them
4) BOTH your parents, therapist, primary care doctor, and plastic surgeon have to agree to it and sign off on it after extensive discussion. Like months to years of discussion
Because of all those things that are already in place in liberal states without bans on anything, it's incredibly fkn rare. I got it a few months before I turned 18, I said I wanted it at 15. By the time I got it I was basically an adult but I still count as one of those "kids" who got a surgery. And it was great for me

As a trans gay man some of these dudes views are wild.
Also i started testosterone at 17 and it LITERALLY saved my life. And yes i was on puberty blockers at 16 as well (yes they’re safe and reversible, all it did was stop menstruation lol) . Transitioning early was very much crucial for my situation. And never once did anyone talk about suggesting surgeries so early in my transition, you only talk about that after you’ve been on hrt for awhile (usually). I have only just been able to get a referral for top surgery (double mastectomy) and I’m 21 now, and getting this surgery in my eyes will lengthen my life so goddamn much!! Also transitioning medically while being under age is so much harder to than being of age, its such a lengthy meticulous process to do it when under age.
Also thank god I’m Australian cause America is so scary atm.

@porter9494 i started transitioning after puberty and started testosterone less than a month before my 18th. If I waited till 25 to transition i would be 100% dead, plain and simple. I do agree that young children shouldn’t transition medically, but socially is fine. Also with detransitioners most of the minuscule percentage are people who can’t afford to keep transitioning or don’t have the support/ it isn’t safe to do so anymore, and the smaller percentage left is people who feel it wasn’t right for them. Just because detransitioners regret it doesn’t mean actual transgender people will regret it too. Also with you listening to stories about people who regret transitioning, have you also listened to stories about transgender people who didn’t regret it and are living their life happily and to the fullest because they were able to transition and be themselves? I suggest looking into both sides. I understand where you come from but educating yourself with an open mind is the best thing. My own mother wasn’t accepting of my identity at the start and that was because she didn’t know enough about it, she leant and grew to accept me(and is now my biggest supporter 😊). She’d rather have a healthy alive adult son who will outlive her than a dead teenage daughter.

60:00 wow ok so I live in Nebraska right(pray for me(dammm)) and Im super involved in the state legislature. I have never seen that man in my life so his involvement was most likely behind closed doors which is so bitch made but not the important part. He’s talkin bout LB574, one of the biggest scandals of a piece of legislation the state has had in decades. So the law very watered down changes the state code to add ‘administering gender affirming care to specifically trans minors’ as grounds for license removal meaning doctors cant even refer trans kids to counselors. It followed the Texas Heartbeat bill strat, saying if we criminalized giving gender affirming care that would get struck down in the courts, so we’ll just make this a civil penalty instead with the same effect. And if it wasnt good enough already, like a week before the bill was about to move past the amendment stage into the final vote, an extreme 6wk abortion ban got filibustered… so they added a 12wk abortion ban amendment to that anti trans kids law!! Of the thousands of nebraskans who submitted written testimony on the bill, a supermajority were on the opposition side but its a super republican legislature so it passed. The state barely leans right but the legislature sounds indistinguishable from the south so we were one of the first states to pass the new wave of anti trans legislation(we had two other anti trans bill because of course they would)

Literally as i'm watching this i got a call from a job i applied to and the motherfucker took back the interview offer after I said I'm nonbinary and prefer they/them, in addition to not being called "sir". In a state that protects my right to hormones and lets me put "X" instead of "M" or "F" for the gender signifier on a driver's license. Pride is very fucking necessary.

I did the “monogamous+” that Austin is talking, and frankly it’s fine as long as you’re honest and you set clearly defined boundaries/rules with your partner. You can absolutely be in love and feel secure in love while having other people in the bedroom. If you fall out of love or your relationship falls apart, it’s probably going to come from failure to communicate something well, and not because you watched someone do a thing to your partner that you probably can’t do, or can’t do as well.

I’ve been to so many pride parades, and I’ve never seen any balls out or anything like that. Honestly, I think most of that stuff only comes out at night when all the kids are already gone and probably in bed to be honest.

I don't get the scare over "sexualising kids". I think it's probably healthy to inform kids what sex is and how it works in a respectful, accepting way. I was beyond anxious with any conversation containing things about sex when I was younger, so much so that I got anxious if anybody heard me watching a normal video or a movie with a normal ass woman talking in it. The adults in my life were so prissy about sex that I started sexualising normal stuff, it backfired is what I'm saying.
Then at what age should that be start being done?

I don’t think it’s that hard to find monogamy, my husband and I have been completely monogamist. Neither of us have any interest in being in an open relationship or inviting anyone in or anything of the sort. I think that a lot of people in our community who claim to want monogamy don’t actually, they want the idea of monogamy but be able to sleep with whomever whenever they want or under guidelines. I don’t see the argument of “I can’t find someone that wants monogamy” especially if you’re looking on Grindr or at the club. In my opinion if you want to be able to have an open relationship just be single.

I have a gay best friend who studies in Germany and asked him about dark rooms because he goes to techno parties and had mentioned it. He then told me he goes there with his boyfriend, i then asked him if anything happened there that was inappropriate and he told me they were never even touched, which i found interesting due to a preconceived ocean and i then became even more open to that

Usually you are so on the mark, Hasan…as a fan…but when it comes to things like this and also notably things regarding black issues you’ve missed the mark with me.
I’ve always admired your analytical abilities and objective perspectives even since TYT, but this video of trying to mitigate how gay people can talk about gay issues is so off putting. Also tell your friend his commentary had as much value in it as a heater in a wildfire…none.
