Solo Recovery Of HUGE Trailer Abandoned In The Desert!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 тра 2024
- This toy hauler travel trailer was stolen and missing for quite some time, then was found abandoned on an OHV trail out in the desert near my house. So the owner and his insurance company hired my to get it out of the soft sand so that they could retrieve it. Since I couldn't get my @SeriousTrucks@zackliftinternational4841 to the front of it with the way it was facing, I towed my pickup out to hook into the 5th wheel hitch and use as my front dolly. Once hooked up, I knew my pickup was going to be unable to move the stuck trailer on its own, so I sat in the pickup giving a little bit of reverse throttle while I used the remote for the @zackliftinternational4841 to pull from the back. Once it was out and back on the road I parked it in a turnout so that either the owner or his insurance company could easily retrieve it.

HeavyD would have this recovery with 6 vehicles, a crew of 8 and a helicopter. Good job, Casey
Bc it's all a write-off on them taxes
You forgot the drone.
That’s IF he has purchased a new piece of equipment in the previous month that will work for the job lol
@orange13
Your comment is on point...
Bruce Cook on the other hand would use a tracked wheelchair and his Chevy truck
Lol why not😂 Their videos are quite entertaining
This reminds me why I hate thieves so much. Not only did they steal an expensive RV, but then they had to destroy it, too.
I just bought a theft-recovered 2007 F250, and it's the same - the insurance company paid out $25K on it, because the tweakers sprayed the entire truck (including inside door panels) with bedliner. And they screwed with other stuff that I am now fixing. It's maddening. Mechanically the truck is still great underneath, which is the only reason why I am investing in it, as I really don't care what it looks like, so long as it hauls stuff to the dump and brings firewood home. F the tweakers and thieves, and our politicians are letting them roam free with no consequences for their actions, but that's a different discussion not for here.
Surprised the owner wants it back, pretty well trashed
Job requested by insurance company
@@tombeilman5579 Possibly the insurance company decided it was repairable and only paid out for that much? So, leaving the owner no option? I dunno, just thinking out loud.
@@EnufIsTooMuch
You are probably on the right track, might be not enough insurance on it to replace it. I would be hard pressed to replace mine on insurance payout, due to replacement cost and made to order model.
As someone who started driving a wrecker in 1957 (yes 1957!!) I can't over emphasize your skill in this recovery. If only this equipment and knowledge was available then. What a difference in not damaging the recovered vehicles. I remember pulling a 10 wheeler (yes 10 wheel 1959 GMC with 4 brand new Chevrolets fully loaded out of river, up a long steep bank with a 1943 AUTOCAR. congradulations on a job well done!
Jeepers, that was the year before I was born, and I thought I was tired!
I love Autocars!
I didn't start driving until 1966, and I thought I was old.
We are.
same year I got my license. I feel yer pain.😀😀
@@mikflo2403 Yeah, arthritis is a bitch.
"You can't logic tweakers" That is a golden quote.
Yeah you can't fix stupid.
Been living next to a house full of meth heads for the last 9-ish months and I have unfortunately been learning this lesson firsthand
My hat is off to you for doing this single handed 👍
That's life in the desert for ya. You make it work because it's your only choice. LOL
Good Recovery
Probably could have had help if everyone didn’t hate Casey LaDelle ‼️
impressive, onne-man team rescue
c'mon, somebody did the video
A tow truck, a 5th wheel trailer, and a pickup with a wheel lift to remove a stump! you are awesome!
Ha ha. I was thinking to myself, that's quite a complicated bulldozer he had there but it worked.
@@dab1068 now just need to fill out form 285.6 b (applicable for carbon removal California ex
Good job, Casey
I was the same.
Seeing that as a problem and using equipment in such a manner to overcome it is nothing short of genius.
@@kenc18002 by12s make a trail jack. Up trailers an shimmy the trailer out slowly
You’re the only person who can do a two person job single handedly!! Great respect for you Casey!!
Too dangerous to do some joibs alone tho. Plus he's out in the desert alone. Who's to say some rowdys wouldn't come along and do him harm or steal his truck/s?
Some good guys carry big guns.
now THIS is the stump removal tutorial we all needed
Well it worked this time but it is still a risky move I think
Where do I get a trailer and a recovery vehicle when I need to remove a stump? 🤔
@@scorchedearth1451 uhaul
God they ruined that poor camper. Some people just suck.
I'm shocked the owner wants it back.
@@haroldphipps3457 Could be the owner has no option but to take it back? Such as if the insurance decided to only pay for a repair, not total the thing?
@@EnufIsTooMuch ... looking at all the damage, every window broken, cables cut, every hatch broken and bent and locks busted, jacks bent and not operational etc., and considering that this is an older unit, I think this is a total loss. Maybe the owner has not realized that yet, but I think the insurance adjuster will write this one off.
@@EnufIsTooMuchyou are probably right.
Maybe the insured bought it for the salvage value for parts.
Not that there are a lot of usable parts left.
@@silentepsilon888I hope that is how it works out.
Pulling off impossible recoveries must give you a real feeling of accomplishment.
That's why towing and recovery is addictive.
Former addict here.
And all by himself!
"You can't logic a tweaker". That's the best saying I've heard all year 😂😂
"Western Star, if you're watching..."
LOLOL. Never hurts to send the wish out to the universe.
Using the pickup wheel lift to push the stump out of the ground was the cleverest thing in the video. Good job with no help!!
Using the truck as a dolly and then pushing the stump out - very clever. Casey is as smart as those NASA guys that rigged up the Apollo 13 air cleaner out of bits and pieces.
Casey you truly are an expert! Nice to watch someone that truly knows what they are doing.
Haven't you heard? Casey isn't good at what he does, he has the merchandise that says so!😅 That's why I hate Casey LaDelle! LOL!
Yeah. He has too much fun. 🙂
@@carlu-dovica And gets paid for it. Lol.
"I never said I was good at this". But he actually is really good at this.
@@stevenhoffmann9373😂
It's truly a pleasure to watch a clever man at work on a task he has mastered. Thanks for sharing.
He has a master's degree in what he does. His childhood has a lot to do with the old school technology that he learned from his dad and now has an easier technology to make the jobs easier. Casey is an excellent problem solver, a shout out to his dad for a job well done in teaching.
I think Casey just redefined the word "incredible" on this recovery!!!..great job son!
And he tells us he is not good at it.🤣
Really sorry for the owners 😢 glad it was insured but the betrayal that’s not something you get over.
The sad part is that the insurance company will total the trailer.
@@LTDunltd Totaled or not, it had to come out. And, coming out with no additional damage means that it's worth more at auction.
There's enough little damage all over that I agree it's probably a goner. All the glass is a major hit. Then the buggered jacks. Then all the compartments that were damaged breaking in. And the hitch. Not to mention the batteries and electrical. And, was the genset still there? If the major stuff was fixed and the minor stuff was fixed to be workable this would be a useable rig, but to make it like it was before is probably just not worth it.
@@bobmazzi7435it's shelter for someone somewhere, I've seen some Jerry rigged ass shit out here
@@LTDunltd I'm wondering if the insurance refused to total it and said "Here's a check for towing and repairs only". Wouldn't surprise me if that's the deal. Owner clearly deserves a new one!
@@LTDunltd At 20:17 It reads "New Shiney Shit Racing". I'd bet the tire imprint in the front of that trailer when law enforcement went to investigate would probably match the owners truck tires. That trailer was old and worn out and owner wants a new one. A Shiney one at that. If insurance totals it the check helps purchase the one, he just bought at a recent auction but stashed it somewhere else until the insurance company got this one out of his yard. This gives the owner time to salvage any useable equipment or accessories that a friend of his could use on his trailer or camper.
How many years did owner own this trailer before it was supposedly stolen? I said something about this in Casey's Short video.
I'm still waiting to see what your not good at, even though you keep saying "I never said I was good at this." Awesome job getting that out.
Cascade, heavy rescue and towing, excavation and stump removal! You should really do it all Casey❤
He does do it all when needed. Every video or short video is something different. It keeps Casey from getting bored with his businesses.
Stump Removal was Classic.
Good one Casey. You are never stumped😂😂😂.
Funny!
Using the wheel lift to get the stump out...I didn't see that coming... Nice!
It's the swiss army knife of Casey's fleet
That was not on my bingo card on this round. LOL
You know something Casey? You are absolutely amazing at off road rescues….. so happy you share your experiences with us….. ❤❤❤
This guy understands engineering, physics, RV construction, etc. smart man!
Well, you always say "I never said I was good at this", so I will....you're great at this! Awesome job Casey!!
This was an impressive recovery done with 1 person and 2 additional vehicles!
Cassey that soft sand ended up in your favour because it didn’t cause any damage when you side pulled it out and having both your trucks worked out great!
That was impressive, logic and reason are the best qualities to have when solving a problem. Of course those same qualities are missing when creating problems. The fact that you were able to do that by yourself is inspiring. I recommend always having a roll of cloth tape 'gaffa' on board for stiching up the loose ends like broken door locks. You are an asset to all of humanity Casey.
You can't F with a man with a plan. Great work once again young man.
How an enormous amount of very hard work creates a miracle.
You bang on about sythetics as much as you want. I am never going back to wire rope. My life has improved so much since I dont have to deal with it. A soft light flexible rope that isn't going to kill me if it snapped has made my life way better.
Thanks for taking us with you solving all these 3D-RealLive-Physics-Puzzles!
Well done Casey you are a true one man show. I never doubt you. You are good at problem solving and can handle any situation
Great job getting the owners trailer out of the dirt and put into a spot where the owner can come and get it. they did a number on the trailer..
A honest tow truck owner he put a fellow driver before money God bless his work.
Any Equipment no matter what it’s designed to do, is only as good as the person at the controls Casey. Awesome Job.. 👍🏻👍🏻
EXPERT and a WIZARD all in ONE--- Have a great week Casey
I'm impressed with how well you worked your tools. Seriously.
Perfect example of what can be accomplished with a positive attitude, some out of the box thinking and being unwilling to ever give up! Of course some nice tools to work with make it all a lot easier too. Nicely Done Casey!!
Casey works smart and doesnt slack off, wish i had you working with me!
Some impressive ingenuity there.
Casey, I just recently found your channel. I have found you a breath of fresh air when it comes to content creators. Your honesty, ability to problem solve is amazing. You remind me a lot of my daddy. I find much joy watching your videos. continue what you do!
That was amazing, to get that out all by yourself! You ARE a genius
'One man job' ...you are the man. Love watching your stuff.
Good job for being by yourself.
improvise - adapt - overcome... Well done!
You did an absolutely amazing job. I was doubting you could do this on your own. You are a miracle worker.
Very creative work on this job, Casey. You had a good day.
Masterfully done!
Outstanding performance and Thanx for Sharing your experience
Great Content 👍
Have a Great Day 👍
That was a pretty amazing recovery - one man, two recovery vehicles, two remotes, three axles, and a fifth wheel.....impressive creativity to remove the stump while operating the two remotes AND outside the vehicles......the impact of experience and problem solving - well done!
Both trucks performed REALLY well. I still love that sneaker truck.
Great idea with the stump.
Casey, Your my kind of guy. You get things thrown your way and you know your going to need at least 2 people but when no one is available you figured it yourself just like me. For me it's that I don't have many friends locally (maybe 2 at best) so I need to figure things out on my own and like the saying goes "if it works is it really a dumb idea"? Keep on keeping on brother!!
Good lord young man you have a football field to get that trailer spun around! EXCELLENT JOB getting her out! 🤩😎
Amazing Casey, 'YOU ARE THE MAN", loved the stump removal too!
Wow, Your a One Man Band for sure, Great Job Casey !
Labor to fix that would be ridiculous hopefully insurance will get him a new one.
Are you lazy?
That genius knows is job! I can imagine the insurance guys viewing this video!
I can imagine the insurance company adjusters reading all the comments.
Casey embodies the phrase "Work with what you've got.'" Job well done sir!
Casey,oh boy do you know your recovery. A pleasure to watch a REAL professional at work. Your approach and innovation is magnificent..you deserve all you earn and the insurance company chose well.
What an awesome recovery. Your problem solving skills are top level and never cease to amaze me.
Knowing what I know about trailers, it would have to be repaired at the factory. It is most likely totaled.
IMPRESSIVE one-man recovery!!!
Casey, your problem solving skills are remarkable. Hat's off to you sir.
Nice recovery. Control of the skinny pedal helps. Slow & easy saves equipment.
If there's a will, there's a way! That is Casey! Awesome recovery 👏 Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Amazing that just one guy did this job, good work.

Now you can add stump removal on the things you can do
Two words, Well Done.
Can Casey pull this recovery off? ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY! My husband and I love watching your videos. I learn something every time. This recovery was like watching a well choreographed dance. BEAUTIFUL! Well done😁
Necessity is the mother of invention. Your attention to detail is remarkable.
At the beginning my first thought was they should have called HeavyD but you handled that like a pro and without a 2 minute commercial for AG! Nice job!
They keep reaching out and I’ve been considering doing that commercial. UA-cam can pay the bills, but sponsorships are where people actually make money
@@CaseyLaDelle It'd be interesting to see your honest review of it.
@@CaseyLaDelle just please don’t do better help they are horrible
@@CaseyLaDelle If the Peck Brothers have to mix AG1 with orange juice, would that tell you it's not very tasty? Watch the expression on Caleb Pecks' face when he is drinking it. Must be a good payout as a sponsor. Casey if you drink that stuff your bag will have to be changed hourly. It's not a good product IMO. They couldn't pay me enough to drink that crap.

Cool using the pickup to hold the front of the trailer!!!! AWESOME!!!
What a cluster you have there patience of a saint

It amazes me how you can adapt to changing situations. You are a very intelligent person. This is just another example of how drugs are destroying our society. Damn tweekers.
Hi Casey,
Another great video and you got it out without more damage which was great.
I'd forgotten about your remote controls, I'm not sure how long remote controls have been on breakdown trucks, they seem like a game changer to me.
This job was amazing.! When you have the right tools and the know how to get things done. A Science certainly. Brilliant job Casey!
Patience is key man no high revs just nice & easy well done 👍🏻
We get so much of that in the woods in AZ. Things are everywhere
So true
Casey is BOSS✔️✔️🤗🤗👏😎😎never senses to amaze me how he works alone alot
That is a one man operation. Great set up and recovery rigs.
You are an absolute magician pulling off that rescue. GREAT job my man.
I think Casey is so much happier now he's back doing this stuff out in the middle of nowhere on his own.
Doing what he loves doing & not trying to make UA-cam content to please UA-camrs.
Agree! Tho have to say it pisses me off that idiot haters so annoyed Casey it took all the fun out of off-road 4x4 recoveries. That work should be fun too! Oh well ... frigg'n haters ...😠
This one was srsly impressive
Great work recovering with minimal further damage Casey. Hats off for you.
Your ability to problem solve combined with your patience is amazing. Can't forget to praise your skill at producing videos.
That sure went better than I thought it would. nice job takeing out that stump.🤣😂👍👍.
Great job. Perfect.
Watched and listened to the preplanning. Outstanding! A buddy buried his at Glamis one year. His sacrificial was his was his prerunner and whole bunch of firewood in the front. Big wrecker did the work from the back. If i can find it i will repost it because I FILMED IT. Its funny. Looks like a Toyota Prerunner backed it, King Pin. The best was the wrecker after the fact.. "Did you guys drain the water and remove what is IN the toy section?" Rut roh!
Right tools makes a hard recovery look easy and all by yourself too. Awesome work
