this is really interesting!! great concept.. i really like em.., i haven't finished the video yet, but I hope you list all the leathers n tannages in this,, I think its pretty cool that Nick's was willing to do that.. I'm curious about the price though,, I imagine it cost a good bit of money to pull off something like that,, im waiting on 3 different PNW mto boots right now and i just pray for the patience lol,, can't wait.. i also did some subtle two-toning on the pair from White's ,, so much you can do with MTOs
@@disoldsoul I still see that thumbnail with the blue and red to catch the eye. I heard you are doing your own thing with leather goods. You should put out some videos. Love to see your work
My guess on the Right/Heritage boot: Vamp = Predator Orange Outer quarter = British Tan CXL Inner quarter = Brown CXL Back Stay = Black CXL Heel counter cover = Brown WF Pull tab = Natural Dublin Thinking they stuck to all Horween tannage.
Totally agree. The different soles are to see if there is a different feel to them. See how much faster they wear out under the same conditions. I honestly don’t feel a difference between them. I think it would come more down to what look you are going for.
@@757OMG I'm not sure if you ever showed em but if the black one is the white X then they're softer than the honey lug so won't be the same as the normal v100
My guess on the Left/Work boot: Vamp = 64 Brown Outer quarter = 64 Tan Inner quarter = 64 Mahogany Back Stay = Max Support Black Heel counter cover = 64 Monarch Pull tab = 64 Ash Grey
How on earth did you get Nicks to send those to you? It’s a serious question because they have told me that if it’s on their website, won’t make it, end of story. And I would really like a pair that not at all super custom, and something they CAN make it’s just not offered. And I believe they offered it in the not so distant past. Would love to hear back from you, and hope you enjoy your pair, Cheers!
They want to market their products and I presented an idea to them. It no different t than rose anvil or carl doing a boot. They could have just as easily said no. They saw the value in showcasing their leathers and how they patina. Unlike other channels I will be doing a lot of follow ups to demonstrate how the leather changed. If you have an idea, you can always send it to them. I know they would love different designs that would set them apart from the other makers
We will hopefully get a measurable difference from the future updates. It would be nice to know how much of a difference there is between the outsoles. I do hope the difference will be slight for the sake of this man’s gait. It can’t be healthy having one longer leg for a long period of time.
I think in a 6 month period it won’t wear to much. It doesn’t feel that different so I feel it comes down to looks. I have walked at lunch on the treadmill and don’t feel a difference between the soles yet. I will measure them at the end. Great suggestion. Anything else you would be interested in hearing about let me know
I second the soda experience. The guys at Nicks said the same thing but the pants cover most of the boot and the Vamp is close enough in color. It’s mainly to see how they patina. I really like their Buck brown WICKETT and Craig. Unfortunately not on the boot.
Incredible
Very cool. I’m surprised at how much I like them.

This reminds me of the 5 Boot Options You Might Regret | Nicks Handmade Boots video I did while at Nicks 😃

@@disoldsoul I clicked on your name and you do have shorts. That’s great
My guess on the Right/Heritage boot:
Vamp = Predator Orange

Dude, I'm digging these boots. Fun and a great idea
The look so much better in person. The unnatural light makes it look more drastic
Can’t wait to see the patina!
Awesome boots man. Cant wait to see the results. Thx for sharing
Uniquely cool boots. I like them!
Those look phenomenal
I’d go for that with the exception of the different soles. Doesn’t seem healthy to me to have two different densities under foot.

I really like your Frankenstein boots. Wonder if they could make that a staple 🤔
I think we will see after Nicks puts up a build video. I hope they say what leather they used. It would be helpful
Awesome boots!
I would love to know what they charged you to mix that many types of leather.. , please let us kno!
Thank You. : )
Wow! I didn't think Nick's did multiple colors like that. Nice pair, sir.
Ah, ok. I see your explanation in another comment. Cool!
Also, Frank's should do a Nickenstein just to be wiseguys 😋
My guess on the Left/Work boot:
Vamp = 64 Brown
Outer quarter = 64 Tan
Inner quarter = 64 Mahogany
Back Stay = Max Support Black
Heel counter cover = 64 Monarch
Pull tab = 64 Ash Grey
I will be interested to see what nicks says but I think you are right. I am sure we will see a build video in the next week or
The funny thing is, in five years it’ll all look like one leather.
There is a very good possibility that will happen. I am not going to put any waxes on it during my 6 month wearing period
Not at all, unless of course you absolutely abuse them.
C fold on the gusseted tongue eh? Hows that working out? Biting into your ankle bones at all?
If Nick's is reading the comments, i would pay big money for boots just like that.

@@757OMG that’s awesome dude. It’s just in time for Halloween too. You should make a Frankenstein’s Patina video in late October. 🤙
I bet the boys in there that were building these boots we're in their pissing themselves laughing when they were putting these together
The honey vibram might wear faster than the black vibram

Holy crap did you get enough kilties!!
I was shocked. 10 pair plus the ones on the boot. One for each leather used. I was not expecting that.

When I was a kid I once mixed all the fountain sodas in one cup. Disgusting really. These boots are that soda.
