  • We turn an errand to pick up some cabinet doors in eastern Utah to a side trip through part of the San Rafael Swell. It is a geological wonder!

Thank you so much for this road trip. Had never heard of the Swell. How beautiful! You got some wonderful shots.
I enjoy your Homestead channel. You are one of the few peppers that comes across as forward thinking and reasonable and not the least bit paranoid and alarmist. At 75, I've just joined your ranks in a very limited way. You've taught me so much. Thank you. I will continue to follow both of your channels.

We live in southern Arizona by the border. We paid a man in a shop to make a kitchen cabinet. When we had not heard back, we checked up. The man had gone to Mexico with several orders of dollars, never to return. We had to start over. We learned to never pay in advance again. We did remodel our kitchen, but what an ordeal! Good luck!

I loved the trip. Thank you. It was beautiful and very nicely narrated. I grew up in the Big Horn Basin in Wyoming and loved going through the Wind River Canyon because the layers of rock were so well marked. We spent lots of time in the summer going to the mountains and fossil and artifact hunting. This video was the first time for me to see this part of I-70.
We lived in Mass. for several years and, after having grown up with beautiful vistas, I needed to go to the top of Mt. Wachusett on a fairly regular basis so I could exercise my 'far-seeing eyes'. There is a 360 view from the top. I did love the trees and the green there, but....

We have a place very close to us that has similar formations. Palo Duro State Park. The Grand Canyon of Texas. If you have time, do a computer search about it. I tried to find a way to attach a photo but it seems I can't. I love seeing all the different layers of soil and formations. These kind of places are amazing works of natural art.

Oh my gosh! We were just over there on I-70 going through San Rafael Swell a couple of weeks ago, going and coming back home from Bryce. We actually stopped at the same rest stop you did on our way home. A spectacular area for sure. I was driving that area on I-70 and I found it has some pretty steep hills and sharp curves. My hands gripping the steering wheel. I didn’t like the trucks air pushing me around there. 😩😩 We stopped in that area a few years ago at a pull off rest area heading West and purchased a pair of beautiful earrings from a Ute Native American. We keep saying, we wish it wasn’t so far to get over to that part of Utah. We love that area so much. A 9 1/2 -10 hour drive at our age is very tiring even switching off driving. Your kitchen is beautiful. Please show us the whole kitchen once finished. Sorry for your incompetent sub-contractor. That has to be so upsetting! Eight months!!!!!!! Wow!

I, too, am from the Eastern woodlands in the US, and I LOVE our forests and terrain. But. Having visited in the West, I fell in love with that too. The COLORS and incredible formations of the rocks and sky! Nothing is more beautiful than sunsets in the desert when temperatures drop, the light softens, and the colors are revealed. I would never move there & use scarce natural resources-especially water! The people there need to work that out.

I totally understand about contractors. Im sorry but it seems like there are no more contractors in the US that is dedicated to their profession. I remember when they stuck to their agreements, on time, paid close attention to details and proud of their work. Now they just want to throw things together and get their money. We've had roofers that can't do wood work, tile layers that laid tile unevenly, painters that used inferior paint and sc**wed us for his mistake and A/C that didn't purchase the correct size ducts then didn't fasten them properly. I'm just fed up can you tell? Sorry, what you said triggered me.
