Thank You Patrick Watkins for producing this video of Malaysia. Beats all the Tourism Malaysia video. You should have actually sold this to them to cover back your expenses. Well done. There are so many aspects of videography here that I am so in awe with that I can only wonder how you did it. Great stuff once again and Thank you.
Thanks Gary! All your kind comments are greatly appreciated! It's funny how so many people mention Tourism Malaysia. I wasn't even making a tourism video, it was just my personal experiences, but then I guess maybe that's what makes it more appealing for so many people to watch rather than forced messages. Thanks again!
by far the best editing skills i’ve seen in any travel video ever. this deserves so many more views and likes!! thanks for making my country look cool :)
Mate, videos like this inspire me. I'm currently only starting this out as a hobby, but hopefully one day acquire your level of skill. Hope you enjoyed your time in Malaysia and that my home which became yours for the 2 and a half years will be one you will miss! Hoping for more videos from you where ever you are and you are always welcomed to come back to Malaysia! Thank you for this amazing dedication!
Thanks a lot Nicholas. I am happy that I have inspired you. Malaysia definitely has some amazing places, would love to come back again. All the best mate
And I really appreciate your support and comment! Yep, UA-cam is a struggle. Just have to keep creating and eventually if the content is good then the subscribers will come. I hope! Haha :)
Thanks Patrick for creating this video. It is so amazing with yours video editing skill which has compact entire culture and its true nature into 3 and a half minutes. Great art and once again Thank you and I'm a Malaysian .
WOW! WOW! WOW! I think I'm unable to type enough wow in a video! Chills and goosebumps. This video definitely surpasses any Malaysian tourism videos, ever! Right now I'm staring at my keyboards, speechless. My limited english words won't do this video any justice. I think I am going to stick WOW! edit: Mind if I share this video with the Malaysian Tourism Board? I think they should watch and review your video. I am not sure what would happen, hopefully great thing will come out of it. That being said, I am gonna rewatch this video over and over again.
Thanks a lot. Yeah I will probably do some tutorials in future. Maybe some more advanced stuff as a lot of the basic stuff has already been covered by others on UA-cam.
Hey man, I’m just into videography and photography and as someone who is from Malaysia, this video with awesome transitions, colour grading and shots really do inspire me to do better in what I’ve learned to love and also showcase my country to the world. The emotion behind this montage is immense. I hope you had a great time in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thanks a lot for the comments! So glad it inspired you and hopefully you will continue to learn more in your own pursuits and inspire others in turn :)
Patrick, your editing skill is amazing. I heartfully felt your emotion through the video. I grew up in Malaysia, and I would like to give back to you as you touched my heart. I believe that great stories, contents are meant to be spread widely. If you allow, I will reupload your video on my few media pages on Facebook, and channel the views to you. Thank you for the amazing experience.
Launchpad Marketing PLT thank you so much for the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed. Would it be possible to link straight to this video instead of re-posting the video? Thanks!
Patrick Watkins people might not click in you see, it takes more effort. I will fully credit it, and link them here. Dont worry, just helping to spread a great content :) Thank you my friend
Wow ! I'm just amazed with your level of editing skills you should sell this to the Malaysia tourism though you could get a lot of money back . this video beats any of the Malaysia tourism vids thanks to make this video
First of all. Amazing work. This is beautiful. It's making me fall in love with filming and photography. And it inspired me and friend to go visit Malaysia this April! First question: what camera or device do you use to get those 'high photos' lol sorry I'm not really good with technology. And second question : me and my friend want a very cultured experience while we're there. Any recommendations on areas? Thank you. And I hope you continue to pursue your dream on UA-cam because this filming blew me away! And inspired me.
Thanks a lot Pam. I use a DJI Mavic Pro for the aerial shots. There are so many places in Malaysia to visit but some recommendations are KL, Melaka, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Langkawi, Perhentian Islands, Cameron Highlands.....I could go on and on. Too many places to visit! Maybe Google it, haha.
Ella Payne thanks! I use Final Cut Pro. So many recommendations for Malaysia, the list is endless. Places close to KL worth seeing would be Cameron Highlands and/or Melaka. Plenty of nice beaches too such as in the Perhentian Islands. Great diving spots over in Borneo and also wildlife to see such as orangutans, elephants and various other creatures. Penang and Georgetown is a great place to visit for food and culture. But it entirely depends what you are looking for. Those are just a few small recommendations...enjoy!!
Patrick Watkins thank you for the response! I'm a beginner and wanted to go for a canon80d, but I'm not sure what lens to pick. I would like to film and take photo's (landscape, but also decent portraits). Would a 28mm be good enough for Both?
AMAZING EDITING SKILLS! I’m Malaysian and I’m proud of you! What software did you use? For the transition, did u manually do it or any add-on software? Any recommendations? You truly a professional video maker!! Thanks for the superb video!
Thank you so much Iman! I used Final Cut Pro X for the editing. A few of the transitions I did in Apple Motion as well (a similar programme to After Effects some might say). Thanks again for the kind words.
There is so much to learn from the editing. Its really awesome. Wish to learn the edits from you. But without the footage, having the editing is skills is not useful. Nicely done. Hope you will come back and do part 2. Since I guess there are still places that you have not visited yet. Part of Malaysia in just 3 minutes. Hope it will be longer T.T
Excellent editing skills....hate the music because old fogeys like listen to the old classic rock stuff...Mahathir wanna see u about that Proton put down.....
Really impressive footage and editing skills! You have the potential to be the next Sam Kolder man hahaha Anyways can I know if you are allowed to fly your drone freely in Malaysia? Is it hard to operate a drone in places where there are many trees and buildings? Also how many lenses did you use for the video?
Haha thanks! You can fly freely as long as you follow the laws. If I remember correctly you must stay at least 30m away from people/busy areas and fly no higher than 120m. Flying near trees/buildings/objects takes practice but not too difficult once you get the hang of it.
Don't worry.....if this video makes its way to Tourism Malaysia, it will get censored (the Proton part...piece of crap car! Trabants are more reliable). By the way, the video is just awesome. Professionally done! Great job dude....and I hope you are having a great time of your life wherever you are now. Take care, homie.
