- After living in Malaysia for 2 and a half years, it is time for me to leave. So I made this video in dedication to all of the amazing things I saw and did whilst I was there. This is my experience in Malaysia bundled up into a 3 and a half minute video.

Thank you so much Iman! I used Final Cut Pro X for the editing. A few of the transitions I did in Apple Motion as well (a similar programme to After Effects some might say). Thanks again for the kind words.

First of all. Amazing work. This is beautiful. It's making me fall in love with filming and photography. And it inspired me and friend to go visit Malaysia this April! First question: what camera or device do you use to get those 'high photos' lol sorry I'm not really good with technology. And second question : me and my friend want a very cultured experience while we're there. Any recommendations on areas? Thank you. And I hope you continue to pursue your dream on UA-cam because this filming blew me away! And inspired me.
Thanks a lot Pam. I use a DJI Mavic Pro for the aerial shots. There are so many places in Malaysia to visit but some recommendations are KL, Melaka, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Langkawi, Perhentian Islands, Cameron Highlands.....I could go on and on. Too many places to visit! Maybe Google it, haha.
There is so much to learn from the editing. Its really awesome. Wish to learn the edits from you. But without the footage, having the editing is skills is not useful. Nicely done. Hope you will come back and do part 2. Since I guess there are still places that you have not visited yet. Part of Malaysia in just 3 minutes. Hope it will be longer T.T

Wow, thanks for the kind words! I use a Panasonic GH4 with 12-35mm lens. Also a Canon 28mm f1.8 and a Lumix 45-200. Drone is Mavic Pro.
Patrick Watkins thank you for the response! I'm a beginner and wanted to go for a canon80d, but I'm not sure what lens to pick. I would like to film and take photo's (landscape, but also decent portraits). Would a 28mm be good enough for Both?
Yeah I should think so. I used a Canon 28mm f1.8 as my main lens for ages!!

Really impressive footage and editing skills! You have the potential to be the next Sam Kolder man hahaha Anyways can I know if you are allowed to fly your drone freely in Malaysia? Is it hard to operate a drone in places where there are many trees and buildings? Also how many lenses did you use for the video?
Haha thanks! You can fly freely as long as you follow the laws. If I remember correctly you must stay at least 30m away from people/busy areas and fly no higher than 120m. Flying near trees/buildings/objects takes practice but not too difficult once you get the hang of it.

this is amazing, so inspirational to much, going to Malaysia soon, any tips? and did you use final cut pro or premiere pro?
Ella Payne thanks! I use Final Cut Pro. So many recommendations for Malaysia, the list is endless. Places close to KL worth seeing would be Cameron Highlands and/or Melaka. Plenty of nice beaches too such as in the Perhentian Islands. Great diving spots over in Borneo and also wildlife to see such as orangutans, elephants and various other creatures. Penang and Georgetown is a great place to visit for food and culture. But it entirely depends what you are looking for. Those are just a few small recommendations...enjoy!!
