Rewatching this video and thought about making some for ornaments and small wall hangers.😀. I rewatch your videos all the time. Thanks Jordy. Jim's wood shop.
Jordy: I had difficulty with the scotchbright not cleaning the burn off very well. I was afraid to burn it too dark then not be able to get it off. I didn't burn nearly as dark as you did in the video. Any ideas?
I haven't carved in lil more than 3 decades but your video's giving me a "woody." 😜 I'm completely inspired. Subscribed & getting my wood tools out of mothballs. Thank you, Jordy!
Oh I like this Santa carving! The Modge podge does give a nice shiny coat! This would make a great banjo or guitar wallhanger if using two inch thick wood for more support! Hillbilly Banjo/guitar wallhangers would sell so fast I bet! Works with standard utility hooks! Novel idea! hat/coat hanger another great idea. Practical works of art!
I am in the process of doing (finishing my first gnome, and yes I have made a lot of mistakes). I didn't sand it down before taking the torch to it, but like you said hey it's my art. Love your video's. Next project, spirit on cottonwood, the wife wants one, and watching your video's on doing it.
More great little tricks, really like the scotch brite and sandpaper flapper wheel. Glad to be learning this stuff early on. By I believe we met years ago at Ivers when I was working there. and have some mutual friends, was talking to Big Daryle. Hope to learn lots from you and this group. Stay awesome and have fun. Later
Yeah great guys, small world, anyway will be watching and learning, try not to be a bother but loving this carving stuff and know enough to learn from those all ready on that road. Thanks again bud
Awesome!! Robert Rivera is one of my cousins & own a few of his creations. His work definitely stands out! Cool vid & be sure to keep an eye out for more rad creations😎🤙
