Great video, you give a clear explanation and good advice! However it seems to focus mainly on band lighting. Could you perhaps make a video focussed on what to look for in a moving head for theatres and maybe some recommendations?
Sure thing - but in the short term, shoot us an email at gear@learnstagelighting.com about your theatre and what you're looking for, and we can make some personalized recommendations and quote!
hello, can you explain to me which angle is different between the 2 MovingHead Scans (eurolite tsl-1000 scan vs tsl 1500) (beam angle 20 vs beam angle 11), I want to buy them and I hope to make the right choice, I use them for wedding parties, I think that the one with an angle of 11 degrees will not cover you enough, movinghead will sit on top of the truss, thanks
Would the Dominar X 250w led engine beam be brighter than the usual Clay Paky 189w lamp fixtures or the Robe Pointe 280w lamp beams? Would love to know your input on lamps vs led engine for beams. 😀👌
For some lights. @Shehds are good, but many of their lights have messed up firmware, resulting in profiles and configs that just don't work properly. Stay far, far away from the SuperBeam 4x25 and the Bee Eyes 12x40. Both of those have manuals and profiles that reference channel modes that don't even show on the unit control panels. The LED Beam Wash 19x15 are a good medium head with flexibility. Shehds may be inexpensive, but after more than 20 lights (many of their more expensive models) that are unusable due to issues above, I have a hard time recommending them. Their QA and customer service are quite lacking.

I would suggest: JB Lighting P9 BEAM SPOT, Prolights Jet200 hybrid. Both are quite small and very very silent. And as wash clay paky k15

It's close to the typical "Sharpy" 230w 7R type fixtures
I can definitely recommend shehds fixtures if you are on a budget
