I remember him coming to Belgium back in the day. The press asked him about Bush. He said something like: "I sure didn't vote for the ****" (and started laughing in his usual way)
That restless album is one of my favorites of all time. Jammed it in high school and I’m 40 now … “I can drink a whole henny 5th some call it a problem but I call it a gift “.
I can relate as far as that Restless album. For me, it's Tha streets is a mutha by Kurupt,No Limit Top Dogg by Snoop,Tha Last Meal,Tha Eastsidaz both albums &The Marshall Mathers LP & D12 Devil's Night. Something about that Up in smoke tour time frame was just magic that will never be able to be duplicated. It was all around the time that the Monday Night wars we're going on in the professional wrestling world with DX & NWO & so on. Definitely golden memories.
Agreed, but he left his origins behind. We understood when why he made that decision back in the day. But he has no excuse to continue the facade today.
Positive happy gUy too!!! Everyone talking boUt being older and loving X back 20 yrs ago bUt remember when Big Boy was Big? With all dUe love and respect I say that dUe to the yoUng bUcks may not know how dope he is too 333
Around 97-98, I met Xzibit at my moms old club, Fox Theatre in 6:06 Pomona and X n my bff freestyled off the cuff. X was an absolute gentleman. Amazing memories! ❤
This shows you that Big Boy interviews his friends, these guys are his brothers, he can have them on here 10x times and it's 10 different outcomes and something new, that's a different level of interviewing...I wish people could understand this!! Gessh!!!
A few things to take from this interview: being coachable, humble and professional can go a long way. X is not just a great MC, he’s humble enough to do what he’s told when need be, trusted the process and was right to do so. A great lesson for all of us regular folks
LEGEND HEAVILY UNDERRATED, U GOTTA MENTION X 2 DA Z he's definitely apart of Hip Hop and West COASTING AT ITS FINEST AND PPL DDNT KNO Xzibit is From. Detroit
Yo the way Big stayed on X neck bout that DD fumble had me in tears!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Excellent interview, looking forward to the new album from One of the master wordsmiths in the game!👊🏿
I've always been a xzibit fan, since my teenager years. Loved most of his albums and can't wait for the new one, I hope he tours in Europe again, seen him a few years ago in a club in Vienna. Real energy
I first heard Xzibit through Need For Speed Underground and Pimp My Ride, and while I was never super into hip-hop, I recently went back and started listening to the greatest artists from the era. I played every album I could find from X and he is absolutely irreplaceable; I’m glad I know him for more than just the show!
Need for speed underground! LMFAO! I was late for work more then a few times because I was up til almost dawn like fuck it. I'm good with 45 minutes sleep before work because I got asses to beat and I just unlocked some new shit and I gotta run it before I shut it down! That's like a law or some shit! LMFAO
Great interview, Xzibit seemed comfortable and confident, he was funny and felt like an acquaintance. Thanks for making these, your interviews are dope
Xzibit came to my home town (Perth, Australia) in 2005 or so, and did a massive show at the nightclub I was working at then. He had brought these enormous sub-woofer stacks - they must have been 10 metres or more higher - and the bass was so, so intense, my whole body turned into a tuning fork. I was wearing ear-plugs AND sound-cancelling headphones, but the bass went into every orifice and all the way through my body anyway. It was so loud that I think I ended up with a concussion! Anyway, he put on a great show, and was really good to all the fans who turned up to see the show - a great showman and a good person, too.
Me & my friends used to bump Xzibit's cd!! 🗣"Call it what you wanna call it I'm a f*ckin alcoholic, Bring it if you really want it,ain't gotta put no extras on it"🎶🎵
Dope interview. Always good chemistry between Big Boi and X. Been listening to their interviews since '96 back in the Power 106 days. Looking forward to X's new album, Kingmaker, to hear what he's talking about, because it seems like he's in a good, reflective space. Enjoyed the background info on recording with Dr. Dre, the Up In Smoke Tour, and how X connected with King T & tge Likwit Crew.
Man ill always respect the love Aftermath artists have for each other still they never disrespect each other or go back on each other cos they built a brother hood, X and Em spoke many times on their brotherhood and snoop, 50 (except the Game)
Xzibit has one of them laughs that's infectious and makes u want to laugh theres only a small community of ppl that's laugh can do that...hes underrated in Hip hop but I can't really say why.....Tupac forever!!(Love from England)
What a great interview. One of my favorite Westcoast legends. I had that Restless album on repeat all throughout high school, still bump it from time to time nowadays. Funny he cleared up spelling Snoops name like that, i always listened to that track wondering why he spelled it that way.
Seen xzibit in glasgow Scotland hands down the best sound for sound rapper ive ever seen as in he sounded the exact same as he does on a cd...X is no joke🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
it would be cool to know more about JAMES BROADWAY, he did so many amazing beats for that crew.... I've looked for him everywhere and cant find any info.
I never gave a damn for Pimp my ride but I always loved X to tha Zs verses and raps his guest appearances are legendary and his albums were cool unique voice in the rap game too you can always tell who it is. Major flowers to Xzibit.
🔥 Interview as always from BB on a very respectable career from Xzibit. Way too humble bout Bitch Please 2 he murked that as bad as he did the original. And also that Multiply story was the most Dr Dre shit ever.
"The same way I sound in the studio, I sound the same on stage." I RESPECT that. When rappers yell at the top of their lungs out of breath live, it sounds wack, it sounds out of tune to the music and off beat. I can't stand that shit. I love rappers who take their live sets SERIOUSLY. A lot of rappers don't take that shit serious like singers do. Singers might prepare for live shows by jogging and singing so their vocals don't sound shakey on stage, exercising for breath control etc. good shit. Xzibit is one of the best IMO.
Xibit..congratulations on all your success . It's good to see you..... as a family. Man.... ........... May I please ask...........will you pimp my ride please......
It’s crazy cool to hear these Hiphop heads talk about the Rapping Duke duh huh before Rakim 😂 We all come to it differently but Duh huh duh and Too $hort brought me
X got good energy. I saw a video of him and snoop pulling up to Dre house in low riders and Dre loved it, he got Dre motivated to get another low rider car.. , I bet in The gym he'll make u feel like u can lift the building 😂
33:35 Its a mix of multiple things. Its true, in hiphop no one wants to see ppl 40+ rapping. Its an active genre, lots of movement, fast talk, talk about hooking up, flashy things. Rock and country cherishes its 50+ rockers because the lyrics are about nostalgia, life, relationships, love. Things ppl of that age can relate to. Its also black ppl’s crabs in a barrel mentality, wanting to stop other ppls success usually from jealousy. We think there isn’t enough for all of us so we tell “old artists” to stop and let young dudes do it. Why not both? Why not young and old rapping? Just like in rock? Its a race and cultural thing unfortunately.
I saw Xzibit perform in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. He did a tribute to Nate Dogg I think it was and he reckons everyone put your twos in the air (two fingers) and this girl wasn't doin it and Xzibit pointed her out and said "BITCH PUT YOUR TWOS UP!" hahaha
X’s laugh is so contagious. What a legend xzibit is.
I remember him coming to Belgium back in the day. The press asked him about Bush. He said something like: "I sure didn't vote for the ****" (and started laughing in his usual way)
One of the most underrated MCs, actually one of very few people who didn't get outrapped by Eminem and they did alot of songs together.
Him and Royce.
Nah Royce does get outrapped sometimes...Look at Friday Night Cypher
Everyone gets outrapped by Em
@@Splintz4daWintz maybe "didn't get embarrassed" by Em would be better worse when comparing collabs with Eminem in his prime for sure.
Facts! I prefer 'My Name' over 'Renegade' any day.
Xzibit's laugh will ALWAYS be iconic and infectious! Stay up! Good to see you. Thanks again Big Boy for another GREAT interview!
That restless album is one of my favorites of all time. Jammed it in high school and I’m 40 now … “I can drink a whole henny 5th some call it a problem but I call it a gift “.
I'm 29, I was too young to be listening to it then, but I was listening to it just a few minutes ago. That album's a classic.

Restless is underrated 🔥
His tracks , U know Ft. Dr.Dre and Don’t approach me Ft. Eminem 🔥🔥🔥
Emniem & Xzibit don't approach me ..fire👍
Eminem produced that track
