Kendrick seems so chill. Great host, too. Really enjoyed this talk.
Kendrick seems cool as hell, i like his music he revolutionized and revived Hip hop, Hip hop is slowly regaining consciousness.
The fact that Kendrick dropped 3 classics in a row automatically puts him in GOAT contention, I don't need to wait for him to be dead to give him credit
Hendrix GIVE THAT MAN HIS ROSES WHY HE HERE (WELL NOT HIS ROSES....SOMETHING ELSE) BUT YOU GET THE POINT😂

@@4xsosa77 so?
He looks happier than the tpab era
Martha Kajwang' for real I noticed that too going baco to interviews from that time.
But I miss his section 80/GKMC days when he was immature and childish. I guess people mature and change.
Bill I Did Not Bang That Woman Clinton chill bro he wasn't that immature and childish
Francisco Hernandez well he was about as much as you could be in early 20s, talkin about fruity pebbles and shit. And watch the TDE cribs video
Francisco Hernandez back then he made more jokes in interviews and was more energetic when he spoke, now he’s still charismatic but he’s a lot quieter
Everybody talking about Kendrick but god damn big boy one of the best host/ interviewer.
Yeah.... Big Boy is the G.O.A.T of interviews
Carlos Leon I love big boy but Howard stern is the goat of interviews #factz
Carlos Leon that whole take care of my family and get me front seats and put me on the album is really annoying

Does anybody think that how much a dollar cost and blood are linked, because in how much a dollar cost the homeless man who kendrick refused help turned out to be god and in blood the blind woman who kendrick chose to help turned out to represent the wickidness of the devil. I also feel the wickidness or weakness theme is involved there also because how much a dollar cost kendricks weakness is his selfish choice to not lend a helping hand but in blood his weakness is his will to help the blind lady. The lady appeared to be weak but really she was wicked and the homeless man appeared to be weak when really Kendrick was wicked. Both tracks tell opposite stories because how much a dollar cost the meaning is god will punish those who refuse to help and love other's but in blood we see that if you help others you can still be punished because of their wicked ways.
gggyyhg dudddyc tv h I'm sure he thought of this
the blind lady is justice cause justice is blind
Jorge Torres I agree
+gggyyhg dudddyc tv h - Really nice analysis. Thanks for the food for thought.

I'm just getting into this, but I can tell Kendrick is doing this interview to be present. He's not as resigned, quiet, and mysterious as he seems like in most other interviews I see him in. Here, he's... happy. This is good shit, already
c.e.olson and then big boys just a great interview and he brings out the best in his gifts
c.e.olson I mean his guest
Cos the host himself is hilarious
Good eye. I agree with you.
The interview did awesome work as well.

your mother's favorite. it almost looks like if he has in braids in his real hair
Naiah Spencer he does....
I pray he keep it
His hair looks a mess...
He is so handsome! Not just his looks, but his personality and expressions too. 💕
🎯
At the end of duckworth he starts blood over again but after blood those songs or stories are his vision after he sees the lady bc he was wondering if she is wicked or is she weak so he plays everything in his head then once duckworth ends he is just there with his internal struggle about either helping the lady or not
basically if his dad wasnt here he feels he wouldve been killed because his dad told him how important god is along with his cousin thats backwards. forwards its him thinking hes gonna die if he doesnt follow gods commandments
I'm putting a comment here to come back to this. This theory is worth a revisit.
yes! that's my theory too
I wish I had an hour to ask Kendrick anything.
How do you pimp a butterfly?

The most versatile rapper since Eminem, the most consistent rapper since kanye, the most conceptual rapper since Andre 3000, 5 universally acclaimed projects back to back, out rapped Eminem, rapped alongside raps best lyricists and held his own, called out every big rapper in the game and is still standing. Adding in his live performances, TPAB breaking Grammy history and being archived in Harvard, etc. while also being the only rapper to outsell drake. anyone who thinks he ISNT a goat is indenial
thedondon911911 outrapped em on a sub par em verse. I'll give it to kendrick he's the best right now, as far as presence and meaning and current consistency but lyrically no one is as good as eminem, Nas is close. Kendrick is dope tho he's top 3 all time

Green And Gold Highlights doesn't matter. Kendrick still held his own against the best lyricist of all time
Zakariya Hamid lmfao shut the fuck up, stop crying, and go do your research before opening your mouth. The fact that people can't discredit kendrick without looking stupid shows he's the goat
Sad that Kendrick didn’t come back for a interview for moral and the steppers

Nicki Minaj's Son he did one about the whole album
He usually does interviews after he drops an album.
Nicki Minaj's Son for Big Boy he does

I love this, they are so confused about the damn album. Now that we know the references of the album it's funny to see them trying to figure it out.
Kendrick is so humble! respect for you man!
KENDRICK'S LYRICS SAVED MY LIFE !
Kazi Shena im sorry how?
+AkU GOMS my personal experience, as a latino, is similar to kazi shena. his lyrics have made me pursue my best me, and consider what the environment around me does to myself. would explain more, but it's difficult
AkU GOMS One thing that Kendrick helped me with is asking myself what truly loving myself means, in the "Real"track he said: "but what love got to do with it when you don't love yourself?" I found that healing honestly, I still ask myself what does truly loving myself means, does it mean self destructing? The luxury? The money? The fame? Does wishing for that will make me love myself? I don't know, but Kendrick helped me a lot with his music. I'd love to see him live, but he doesn't come to southamerica sadly

Me too 😮is like the FIRST time of my life that I looooove an artist like that and he make me be passionate about rap he is literally the best rapper all time ! I want to see him
Kendrick a living legend. No question about it. But I like this Mexican girl in the black shirt. I've seen several interviews with her and she really does her homework, asks good questions, and connects with the audience.
Wow, you just made my day. I appreciate the compliment so much. Thank you!

Damn kendricks mood changed from TPAB to now, when he was on this last time he looked depressed asf and now looking like a Goat💯
He was looking depressed cause of the content of that album. Listen to mortal man, that song is sad but true cause it's a battle we fight everyday. Anyone makin that album would be depressed or mad at the world
Ironic bc this album was his rawest album emotionally imo. He seem like he's in a better place though outside the music
Yeah he was depressed
Kendrick's smile is so genuine and radiant which speaks volumes of his character and vibration state.
It’s appreciated when an artist & creator to the magnitude of Kendrick still decides to do interviews. And Big Boy is the goat. Half a decade later I still come back to this interview. Classic.
i honestly don't see j. cole or big sean as competition to kendrick. he's literally in a class of his own in my opinion.
Not even close to those radio clowns. for me kendrick is competing with folks that aren't near as popular as him, Danny brown, earl sweatshirt, stuff like vince staples.
Jimmy Potts finished 'big fish theory' this morning, GREAT album. love vince.
don't think any of those are competition for k dot either tho.
Jimmy Potts J. Cole a "clown"? Lmao!!!!!
Lynn W I can understand Big Sean but J. Cole? Cole has his own lane.
SoulOfTheSouth yes, but kendrick is still a class above him & all other peers. i know people say cole is boring
often, but… he is to me, AT TIMES. he's really great at other times. in my opinion, kendrick's rhymes and overall work are more engaging and diverse. his voice not only grabs but also KEEPS my attention MUCH more easily than cole's does. i think over time, history will show this to be true for most other listeners as well.
Kendrick seems different in this interview. He seems more happy and more hungry. I don't know but I can just feel like he wants to get back into the studio to fuck shit up🔥
Jaggy poo Yeah it's his confidence level it's through the roof. It's the highest I've ever seen it. He's at the level of confidence of where Kanye was and Pac. It's that Gemini in him.

On Apple Music the DAMN album shows kendrick is standing in front of a red wall, on Spotify he is standing in front of a blue wall. In DAMN , the first track BLOOD talks about him taking a walk and getting killed by a blind woman. After that track, then starts kendricks afterlife with god, we see in the rest of the album that his life splits into two possibilities, going down the blue path(which is baptism and being saved) or going down the red path(which is lust and sin). all in all in the album kendrick chooses the blue path, as seen in the music video, "God is a Gangsta" in To Pimp A Butterfly, you can see at the end of the video he is getting baptized. Which leads by kendrick walking down the street, where he meets a blind woman. Which leads right into the album DAMN. So To Pimp A butterfly leads right Into DAMN.
Damn.
I love this

"This is why I say that hip-hop has done more damage to young African-Americans than racism in recent years"
yet Kendrick has used his success to help his family and his city and make music about black power, having faith in God, and getting through depressing times
That was one of the most ignorant racist fucking statements I've ever seen. Geraldo assumed because Kendrick is a black rapper that he's some "no good thug" when if he knew Kendrick's work and his life he'd know that Kendrick is the exact opposite. Geraldo thought that he could just say whatever he wanted because rapper=lowlife. The way that Kendrick handled that with such class. He just sampled Geraldo on one song and then offered a respectful brush off of his criticism on another track. He made Geraldo look like a fool and he wound up eating his words. All because Kendrick had something powerful to say that Fox didn't want to hear.
