You’re right! The new air intake does look badass and sounds better also. What most people don’t realize is a tune in the truck will tie it in with better for performance. One without the other is pointless as far as performance is concerned. From what I hear Diablo does pretty good on starter tunes for the HEMI to get a couple more pony’s outta her.
I added the Mopar RAM air intake also...on my 2022 1500 Lone Star...did not expect any performance difference...got it mostly for the looks too. Something you might want to consider with all that free space where the OEM air box was located, is to install a second battery...leaving the bottom portion of the air box in place, with a little modification I added a second battery, and added a battery isolator so the main battery can keep the secondary battery charged...it runs all my added electrical stuff.
l think it is the best air intake , you must get the tune . Thank you man for truth ! l like it ! l once had a 460 Ford truck reversed the air top , and boom power get next too anybody going up a hill and win .
IT DOES GET MORE HP…..BEST INTAKE FOR THE RAM HEMI….YOU WILL GAIN 1-3 MPG’S…SINCE YOUR TRUCK IS NEW YOU DIDN’T FEEL THE DIFFERENCE FROM DRIVING IT FOR A FEW MONTHS …..PLUS THIS IS STOCK NOW ON THE GT RAM TRUCKS…
Thank you for the video. Does the intake add a little more sound to the engine? I plan on getting the Mopar cat back and was wondering how it would sound with the air intake.
Will this fit a 4th gen ram? Ive been using a Veraram intake but I think it's dust retention is week since I have to clean the throttle body often, and hadto replace the engine due to cam-lifter failures.
@@RaceGasSmellsGood i like the intake a lot..very durable, it's an OEM part so doesn't look cheap. Truck performs well. Gas mileage I can't say I noticed a difference. But I do like that this opens up a huge area in the passenger side for like a 2nd battery location if you want to add one. I definitely would buy again if I had a truck without one. There is a slight tone difference on acceleration. There may be more to gain by tuning, but nothing available yet to time 23's
I had a 2022 Ram Laramie GT that comes standard with the Ram Air intake and the same factory air cleaner bracket that you left installed was still mounted under the hood. How much did it cost for the kit? Did you get the GT exhaust too? I miss my GT so much that I’m planning on installing these parts on my new 2023 Ram 1500 Lone Star.
@@vfr800fi07 Looking forward to that! Most come with the 21 gallon tank. I have often wondered about the cost and difficulty of adding the larger tank!

89oct is not good you want to use 93

I did think of doing that too
Good honest review. Would like to see a Varam intake comparison.
Honestly it has to be the same...the air comes from the exact same place
I like the idea of dual batteries.. awesome video dude
Thank you I appreciate it.. more to come definitely.
I have a warn hidden winch under the bumper of my 2022 Limited Longhorn. Love it.

Yeah unfortunately there is no tuning available for the 23+ yet as far as I know
Good work ...the engine will only suck in so much air .bigger valves and a cam would help
Thanks . Yeah I didn't expect much.. other than looks and relocating where it actually takes air in. I don't regret it.

I will be testing it again at 2000 miles
The only thing I'll add..is the ram GT is not rated for any more power than a regular 1500
You are deluded if you believe a CAI will improve fuel economy.
Thank you for the video. Does the intake add a little more sound to the engine? I plan on getting the Mopar cat back and was wondering how it would sound with the air intake.
There is a slight difference in sound.. but not like a straight up tube style

As far as I know it's 5th gen only
Performance coming around 10k...like 2-3 oil change...I'm installing ram cold air intake better performance on med range ....between 1.500-4.500 apm
I'm at about 3000 now
Any updates on this? How are you still liking the intake? Did you end up noticing any differences in your MPGs? Thanks for the video!

The air box set up I think was like 800, exhaust wise I deleted the muffler and left the resonators
If you want better times go with a Banks Power commander throttle Response. You don't get more hp but the Response time is at least a sec quicker imo.
Maybe it would be worth at least testing
What rear spoiler is that on the tailgate, mine looks totally different than that one

How do you remove the air intake cover? Need to clean my filter.
The top just pops off.. start lifting it from the rear first.. it will pop up
I wonder if anyone has tried to make this fit an Ecodiesel yet. I'm not able to spend $850-900+ on it so i guess i won't be finding out
The TB would have to be in the same spot to work pretty much
How much was it and where did you buy it.
It was around 800.. and I got it from RAM online . Shop different RAM sites for best price
Cold Air looks much better!
Oh 100% better, plus it's higher up. Also adds mega room in the passenger side engine compartment.
I've also done some parts research.. another project will be adding the factory 33gal fuel tank. Which will give me 500-600 miles of range
Great addition! Wow did not see you sold it the TRX….😢

@@casmithc2 cost isn't bad..I already sourced all the parts. And as long as the tank is empty it's easy.

No. This air box is stock on some ram trucks like the GT
