I do believe that meditation significantly helped David Lynch, and he inspired me to try an official Transcendental Meditation workshop back in 2010. However, after this experience, I came to a different conclusion: you don’t need an official (and often expensive) workshop to meditate effectively. Meditation is simple and accessible to everyone, without the need for a €250 course filled with outdated Maharishi videos and a ‘special’ personal mantra. That said, meditation can indeed help with stress and anxiety, but it’s important to note that if you’re dealing with depression, professional therapy or counseling should not be avoided. @@angelagilmartin2109I’m far from an expert, but my personal experience would recommend avoiding any official workshops or anything like that and just start meditating. A good book on it is “Still the Mind,” by Alan Watts, or “Meditation is Not What You Think,” by Jon Kabat-Zinn. At its most basic, meditation begins as learning to sit still and give your mind space. Let your mind think and think, but keep breathing through it and reminding yourself to be present so that you don’t follow your mind down every rabbit-hole it naturally wants to go down. It can be frustrating, can feel useless, but you’re likely to come away from it feeling a little bit reset, with a little more mental space and mental peace, especially the more you do it. Some people aren’t still all day unless they’re showering or sleeping, which is why those times are when a lot of people say they do their thinking or struggle to fall asleep. If you learn to sit still with your mind and be present for awhile in a day aside from those small times like that, it can feel so wonderful for your head 😁

Thank you so much for sharing this. Trying to describe some of my abstract paintings, videos, sound art etc is so difficult as it’s almost entirely intuitive. Lynch articulates this side of art and the creative process so wonderfully; and SIMPLY. So grateful for his works. RIP ❤
About an hour in, when he’s watching ‘Its a wonderful life’ listening to his voice break says everything about this wonderful human being ❤ and like he said, I believe this man was truely gifted in seeing the souls of people
“Thrilling to the soul”. He expressed the art process and feeling so eloquently, so simply. You fall in love that’s it. Brilliant advice. Brilliant artist. ❤
Thank you so much for giving us three hours of DL talking about nothing but the work. I could listen to him do this all day. He left us so much wonderful art, and I look forward to a deeper exploration of what he gave us. I'm so sad, but I'm also so grateful.
He started transcendental meditation a month and one day before I was born. And he was born the same year as my mom. I learned about him from my brother who had seen Blue Velvet. Then later on, we watched Twin Peaks on the TV when I was around 16-17. Amazing man. He surely will be missed.
I loved the man with all my heart. Love the feelings I enter when I watch his work. I also adore how his movies are as dreamy as his way of ‘catching ideas’ is. It’s like Lynch loved to spend time in the same universe where his movies take place. He has left behind such a great amount of love and pure bliss, that is impossible not to be moved to tears when thinking about him. No other artist ever, maybe only Frida Kahlo, has that effect on me. No one else.
So großartig.
I'm five minutes in, and after having been in a creative funk for quite some time, I'm suddenly feeling inspired again. The muse has been crawling back to me in bits and pieces the last few months, after a long drought. But this is already bringing me back to myself. The fishing analogy resonates with me deeply. This is a very Zem sort of video, in a way. Lunch and Rick Rubin remind me of each other a great deal. I suddenly feel much more whole right now. And inspired.
Thank you so much. Best wishes to all gathered here, perfect health and happiness to you all oriented to good deeds; Rest in Peace Mr. Lynch, see you in the afterlife
In my mind, the fishing is done at night by maidens who plung their arms into a deep pond of fresh water. Under the moonlight they catch glimpses of golden carps, slivering in silent waters.
I feel the same, I try to avoid sorrow, but it hits me hard right now, because of how beautiful person David Lynch was. His life was beautiful, it warms me up, calms me down. I wish the very best for his family and loved ones, look at a donut, not on a hole.
One of the finest and kindest men that has ever walked this earth. His works have affected me in ways I didn’t think would be possible with film. Rest in peace Mr. Lynch.
Even the cadence of his speech sounds like he's channeling something from another place. Such a visionary. Very sad he's passed but the great thing with prolific artists is the work lives on in the consciousness of others
There's a lot here I'd already head David say in other places, and that's 100% fine. He's consistent and I super appreciate that. But my one single take away from all 3 hours of this is that I'd have loved to just hang out and watch movies with him and talk about em.
He has this most beautiful cadence when he reminisces. It's almost like listening to Dr Seuss poems - deeply soothing and engaging. What a great gift to the world he was.
David Lynch, I read, speaks like an open book to read through and through, and through to no end, but I find it bores me. I may find it again if the gears shift more to tend to it.
The quiet joys and peace of prayer has been free and open to all - since time began. It’s because we have an innate desire to connect with our loving God.
I'm a big fan. How his meditation practice informs his perspective is even more clear in this video. David was a unique and uncompromising visionary and it shows in his work. Thankyou very much for uploading. I feel inspired!
Even his death is a gift. I'm now learning so much more about him and from him now that he died because I want to have his wisdom and his beautiful and funky mind close to me. All of these great minds were a gift to us during their lives and after their death. He transcended ;) and ...party time.

I actually have Masterclass and never knew DL did one. Keeping in mind DL's idea of where ideas come from, the fish, etc. this is perfect. Because I have a deadline for a short film due on 1/31 and needed inspiration. Here it is. As a side note, I noticed in the Blue Velvet clip that I had that same car! A '71 burgundy convertible Buick with white top and interior. I totally forgot, is that Frank Booth's car or Jeffery's in the movie? Rest in Peace, David.

Lost Highway and Blue Velvet were my favorite films from David Lynch.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Trying to describe some of my abstract paintings, videos, sound art etc is so difficult as it’s almost entirely intuitive.
Lynch articulates this side of art and the creative process so wonderfully; and SIMPLY.
So grateful for his works. RIP ❤
what a privilege to watch this man talk
About an hour in, when he’s watching ‘Its a wonderful life’ listening to his voice break says everything about this wonderful human being ❤ and like he said, I believe this man was truely gifted in seeing the souls of people
We’re so lucky he left us this much advice and a glimpse into his genius process
Thank you for the upload rip the legend David Lynch.
This man was an absolute legend. Rest in peace, Mr. Lynch. Thank you for catching so many brilliant ideas to show us.
RIP: David Lynch
His work compelled me to look for the art, music, and movies that I enjoyed. For that I will forever be grateful.
“Thrilling to the soul”. He expressed the art process and feeling so eloquently, so simply. You fall in love that’s it. Brilliant advice. Brilliant artist. ❤
possibly the most loved famous person on the planet. a huge loss to the world, i hope we can recover
2nd only to Ernest from the Ernest movies, of course.
The hole David has left is immense, but we just gotta focus on the donut :`)
Idk why this is one of the only guys I can listen to at regular speed lol
Thank you so much for giving us three hours of DL talking about nothing but the work. I could listen to him do this all day. He left us so much wonderful art, and I look forward to a deeper exploration of what he gave us. I'm so sad, but I'm also so grateful.
Lynch and Ray Bradbury are the best. So glad their work can be with us for the rest of our lives, though we always wish for more.
He started transcendental meditation a month and one day before I was born. And he was born the same year as my mom. I learned about him from my brother who had seen Blue Velvet. Then later on, we watched Twin Peaks on the TV when I was around 16-17. Amazing man. He surely will be missed.
January 20 will be David Lynch day from now on!
lol😄
Fly high, David, and thank you. May wherever you are have beautiful blue skies and golden sunshine all along the way. ❤💔
Through the darkness of future past, the magician wants to see.
One chants out between two worlds....
Fire, walk with me.
This kind of people are as rare as golden sand. RIP master.
He was a wonderful uncompromising artist. Thanks for uploading this
I love the way he wiggles his fingers ☺️
In my mind, the fishing is done at night by maidens who plung their arms into a deep pond of fresh water. Under the moonlight they catch glimpses of golden carps, slivering in silent waters.
this is one of the most beautiful comments i've read
wait, wow
this hilarious genius is inspiring me to get back to meditation
can't watch this yet, already crying under two minutes, but thank you for uploading.
I feel the same, I try to avoid sorrow, but it hits me hard right now, because of how beautiful person David Lynch was. His life was beautiful, it warms me up, calms me down. I wish the very best for his family and loved ones, look at a donut, not on a hole.
it's not the same, but you can copy/paste the transcript - may be a bit more digestible for the next few months. I feel you
One of the finest and kindest men that has ever walked this earth. His works have affected me in ways I didn’t think would be possible with film. Rest in peace Mr. Lynch.
please dont ever take this down PLEASE
im surprised MC has let it stay up this long already
I wish he could live for 500 years. I am still in disbelief that he is dead. I am more than sad.
Same, already missing him terribly.
Same, though Lynch himself said he loved smoking but the price he paid was emphysema.
He had a lot of agency in his own passing, sadly.
I feel exactly the same way.
@@dazzlingvastness2528 🖤
He is not dead. David Lynch cannot die.
what a precious mind he had
Thank you for uploading this. David Lynch will be missed.
Immediately downloaded for posterity. Thank you for sharing this, very important material.
Hello, I’m unable to download this until much later. I’m afraid it will be taken down soon, would you be willing to send me the file somehow?
@@TylerMalmI downloaded it, I'll upload it to google drive and send it to you. What is your email ?
@TylerMalm i can do it, would telegram be okay?
@@softmachine1894 hi, I appreciate you offering to do that! I was able to download it after work though so false alarm, thanks again!
Dude loved his fish!
The moment Lynch talks about the diner you understand his level of consciousness and awareness. Man freestyles all that detail without hesitation.
This was amazing! Thank you for sharing!
came here to say this ^^^
He has this most beautiful cadence when he reminisces. It's almost like listening to Dr Seuss poems - deeply soothing and engaging.
What a great gift to the world he was.
i absolutely love that the final line in this is: "party time!" RIP David Lynch.
David Lynch, I read, speaks like an open book to read through and through, and through to no end, but I find it bores me. I may find it again if the gears shift more to tend to it.
Interesting take.
This guy helped save my life
An actual gold mine
So much Gratitude for this inspiring share.... Shine on Infinite Spirit!!!
I cAn now channel the great spirit of Mr. Lynch
Quite possibly the greatest of them all.
UA-cam's best video.
his way of explaining how to work with actors is 10/10
Saturday night, 4 am, I'm here watching all your backstage and then, ended here.
You will be forever missing Mr Lynch, no one like you.
Same here. Listening to good music. Now ending the night with lynch.
Me as well fellow traveles. Take care all, I still can't believe Lynch is gone.
It was so inspiring, dreaming and so much fun! Dear dear wonderful David Lynch! Dream on dreamboy. Long live the arts!
One damn beautiful human being! Grateful to have come across his consciousness. 🌱
Oh cool, love the way he describes things
I wish I would have met you, David. Now you're on the next stage to do greater things.
The quiet joys and peace of prayer has been free and open to all - since time began. It’s because we have an innate desire to connect with our loving God.
Amen Brother 🙏🏻
A sage of wisdom in the dark forest of art
I'm a big fan. How his meditation practice informs his perspective is even more clear in this video. David was a unique and uncompromising visionary and it shows in his work. Thankyou very much for uploading. I feel inspired!
Thank you for this upload. Amazing advice to creative minds out there. Lynch had it right.
Thank you so, so much, this is gold✨✨✨
There won’t be anything like his work released in our lifetimes again. One day there’ll be a renaissance but it won’t be in the next 50 yrs.
Even his death is a gift. I'm now learning so much more about him and from him now that he died because I want to have his wisdom and his beautiful and funky mind close to me. All of these great minds were a gift to us during their lives and after their death. He transcended ;) and ...party time.
thank you so much for the upload. hope it stays online forever but i made a backup just in case
This is fantastic. Was up 'till 4am watching DL clips of interviews last night. Just couldn't stop. I woke up at 8:20am from the alarm clock and this was on my recommendeds.
Good Lord… I just started a live unscripted improvised performance art TV series locally. Of course I am a huge fan of David’s and I recall Picasso saying“ great artist, steal, good artists copy “I don’t know about that. All I know is this is highly inspirational! Thank you.
