The video was great and very well edited but sane screams of pretentiousness. For starters, the founding members (or at least the ones that are the face of the brand) are all rich white kids (and im sorry sienna, but most people would consider you rich). Not exactly inspiring, especially not for gen z. On top of that, the delivery of the message felt very douchy and patronizing. Ida speaks in cliches without actually showing how her brand is any different from all the other lifestyle blogs and independent news sites created by young rich millennials. I know she says shes Gen Z and it's a Gen Z site, but she's actually a millennial. I was born a few years after her and barely make the gen z range so that is also a bit odd on her part. I just feel like she either is catering to the wrong audience or doesn't really understand her audience.
Can we please stop this american bullshit about being millennial or gen z? Each one of us is unque in their personality. It’s personality that counts and makes a person interesting. Not being ‘94 or ‘99

@@Applemushy yes. the brand is (i think, they made it a bit hard to understand) about making intellectualism something digestible for a mass audience, however the video seems to only represent the elite. and i think in 2021, most people have had enough of the elite, especially the white elite, telling them how they should think

@@afnan_s She's a young woman living in a very nice apartment in one of the world's most expensive cities to live in... she's clearly wealthy. Of course you can work towards knowledge and not money, but that's not the point. What I'm trying to say is that, as the target audience, I could not find this relatable or inspiring at all, and it is somewhat concerning to me that Sienna (who is also very clearly wealthy, yes) would think her audience would vibe with this. It seemed out of touch to me in a very ~white feminist~ way.

the fact that she said they were going to be an "intellectual guide" like are you serious? millions of brilliant people out there need a guide founded by a pretentious, white, 25-year-old? as if BBC, PubMed, Google scholar, etc. don't exist? her website says her goal is to make intellectual pursuit cool in pop culture... since when has it not been cool...?
As someone who is earning my doctorate right now, this is laughable. The last thing the world needs is this girl posturing as a scholar on a social media page with convoluted posts that are re-worded from other resources.

For me it’s not a huge deal because in Europe many people around her age smoke (and then quit once they get older) but I get where the disappointment comes from. And for sure you didn’t come off as offensive!!!

The content Ida creates is not near as cool as she thinks it is. Just a bunch of bla bla. Intellectualism is not the new sex, but it is very sexy WHEN it is done well. But for her it's just a mask she wears, than can be sold "good enough" to call herself a founder (of a newsletter?), desperately trying to look cool while smoking and trying to say "important" things, she doesn't fully understand. That isn't inspiring, it's just boring.
My thoughts exactly! As a person who is a bit older than both Sienna and Ida, and who has her ups and downs of 20s already behind, I’ve already encounteted hundreds of young women like Ida. They are pretentious, privileged and not interesting at all. Their main idea is to push some ideas or views just because they seem original or in current fashion. But deep inside they do not even know much of the subject. Let’s add those cigarettes, round glasses and that nonchalant way of talking to all of that, and we have a recipe for a person who actually hasn’t achieved anything yet but likes to think she/he’s better than anyone else. I’m not trying to be mean, just pointing a fact 🤷🏻♀️

This sounds like gen z goop. Is there collaboration with actual experts on these topics that Ida is researching? I’d be more interested in curated articles written by actual experts... and not a poosh or cosmo “expert” that writes a post that’s just a synopsis of what they understand. I think we desperately need to move away from opinion pieces, especially ones written by a person preaching that we as a species won’t make it through the decade while they’re smoking a cigarette... I mean I’m sure it’s a cultural thing but it seems very hypocritical.

I just entered her page and she has a post with a graphic showing different "types" of libertarianism and the subtitle talking about... cells? like body cells.
She also has posts where she talks about economics and taxation that are just incomplete. She also talks about the environment and… smokes?
I like the idea of this series but this privileged young woman has nothing to be admired.
Lol she's worried about all the things that will do us in as a species, but the cigarettes are what will ultimately get her....

She lives alone, it may be a coping mechanism. It's hard to carry the burden of knowledge, work towards it to educate others, all while living alone.

In the beginning when she started talking about the her "mission" on human survival I thought "wow this is interesting" but it kind of went nowhere I mean what's the point? she wants to make money or is she is just pretending to be Neo from Matrix trying to save the world? I didn't get this. I thinck is a very interesting subject but this didn't explain much.
05 in 06 is 83.33%. Think that is actually pretty high and good odds favouring a survival. You can earn the rest of 16.67% by keeping your mask on.

Lol her linkedin says she went to a university in China for 1 year. Not that you have to have a formal education to succeed but there's some pretty heavy stuff to digest here if genuinely wanting to move forward. As someone has pointed it before, that entire generation calling is a total bullshit. I’m a millenial and I don’t even have 40% of the features that are „attributes” of this generation. Everyone is very different. Of course that we are created mostly by our times but being born in a certain decade or two doesn’t determine your points of view and who you are. But answering your question - yes, she would be a millenial.
She brings up statistics on the probability of the human race surviving and how she is passionate about "informing" the youth on this and that and making a difference, yet she is smoking? How ironic lol. Not to mention, i agree with the comments in here that i cant take Ida seriously, she seems pretentious and was more interested in being flashy in front of the camera.
Here's an idea on how to make a profound difference. How about you stop smoking and working "till you crash" to preserve your health and not burden an already fragile environment, medical and social systems with a plethora of preventable diseases and their direct and indirect consequences. 👍 ps. intellectual pursuit and sex are not mutually exclusive, it's safe to say people have been doing both for thousands and thousands of years now

I'm so sad to hear that :( I'm sorry this video wasn't up your alley but I'm focusing on posting a variety of inspirational businesswomen from different backgrounds, ages, and stages in their careers so hopefully there are some who you can relate to. People draw inspiration from lots of different kinds of people so some I feature may not be your type of role model but others might and that's okay! if you view this entire video as satire im not gonna lie it does make watching it much more enjoyable. sadly it isn't satire but it is a good lesson in teaching why intersectionality matters. if you wanna empower women leaders that's a great idea! but find participants that represent the diversity of women. i tried to focus on what Ida was saying but there was not anything of substance there. it was the literal personification of every joke that's been made abt white women being out of touch w/reality but wanting to pretend like they're activists. pls i urge everyone w/platforms to seek more poc women or women from different socioeconomic backgrounds, women from marginalized communities, and empower their voices instead.
HERE is the problem. Not those in the video, but identity warriors who count the numbers - how many black faces? How many brown faces? How many rainbow flags? How many - fill-in-the-blank. This crap must end. Getting lost in identity is merely conformity, those who are following the latest ‘thing’ and build their self worth around said ‘thing’ … in this case, social justice identity warriors. Genuinely curious about Sane as an educational company about tackling these highly important and also polarized topics. For example, she mentions AI. I think its risk (or downfall) lays in the same lane as that of education, which is bias. Information skewed towards a specific perspective runs the risk of alienating equally valid, less-vocal, and minority experiences and voices (no matter what those are). I would love to learn more about what Sane is doing to make sure the information they are providing doesn't alienate their target audience. I think the comments saying that this video can come across as pretentious are actually very insightful in that they highlight what might be a key area that requires growth. A startup's key to success (at least as I've seen it) is trust. To connect with Gen-Z audiences a level of familiarity needs to be built, otherwise, the information shared will just feel disconnected. I think an important step, beyond the accumulation of knowledge, is to brainstorm, "why, for my audience, is knowledge shared through my platform trustworthy and worth listening to?"

Sienna I love your videos but, you’re making a big mistake if you’re joining this company. It’s a great idea but, it’s not well performed. To be honest, I would not join the company because it’s not gonna last. It may seem amazing putting that you’re a co-founder of a company on your papers an essays but, in the future, when this “company” fails, it will just be a failed attempt. I’m guessing that you’ve already put money on the company,given your position on the company but, it’s a bad idea. Sienna, investing early is great but, trust me, It’s a waste of resources on this one. I would like to get a chance of your Vlog editing. I am using a combination of these softwares Final cut pro, Adobe Premiere Pro cc and Adobe After effects for Vlog editing. I generally focused on logo intro, to cut unwanted parts in video, applying modern transitions, reduce noise in your audio speech, motion graphics, color balancing, color grading, producing glow effect, Lower thirds and subtitles to seek the attention of the audience.
