I personally hate the foam ball, especially when it gets worn down from being taken off and on. keep it simple & old school with a pop filter and reflection filter around the back of the mic. It keeps that consistency that your talking bout without that muddy mess. Love your perspective though!
@@mixlikenix thanks bro, I really like your content because of how u explain things it makes it easier for me to understand, keep it up! Also where can I get that filter your using on this video, it looks cool.
That 387 has a really nice breathy tone like the c800 and u87 had a 👶 I would tell you to get a cheap foam ball from amazon, Micfuns Professional Microphone Windscreen is a great value option
I use the Kaotica EYEBALL cureently with my setup and even thou it does put a proximity effect of muddiness to the sound a little I like the focusness it puts on the vocals
I love the foam ball too, I see it as a part of the vocal chain tbh it gives the vocal a pre eq type of high end roll off and mid range push before it hits the daw
Additionally id say it adds a type of tone similar to a vocal booth or a ns1 @@mixlikenix kinda got myself hip to it using so many dynamic mics wondering why I was digging the tone then I realized they all (other than my 57) got mf foam
@@doitlikeclean love your comment I think positive of the 👁️ too It’s certainly an acquired taste but can be used to your advantage to get a specific tone when tracking What I would feel is “Dry Warmth”
