How do I set up my studio rack like you bro

so vividly explained, nice. i have a lot of questions though. what happens if you record only mic < interface < daw and then later after it's recorded into daw, run the digital audio through a hardware preamp and compressor? would it sound the same as if it was used and recorded during tracking stage "mic < preamp < comp < interface < daw" ? maybe the quality won't be as good, but maybe it's not a big difference, maybe it gives the exact same the color/character, with audio being like 44.1kHz instead of 198kHz for example (not accurate example, but a comparison). the point is, as long as we can't experiment with the tools since we don't have them, we can't have an actual experience to be able to form our opinion about these gears, everything remains speculations and concepts. also neve/cl1b plugins don't seem like preamps, only just another plugin that tries to pretend to be a preamp/hardware compressor, just an emulation, fake, not as good as the real thing that gets recorded through actual electronic things. if preamp plugins are that good, why buy hardware? tracking with software preamp just becomes another plugin that you use for mixing, that since they get printed and tracked with, that's basically a beggining stage of mixing, during tracking, and not actually recording good raw vocals, that's not the same as choosing which mic you wanna use to achieve a certain sound, or distance from mic or interface, those are the only ACTUAL things that can't be changed after the vocal is recorded, therefore, a real recording, plugins only create a fake good vocal recording, because that's mixing, tryna a recording sound better through processing, then what's the point, every vocal gets mixed later eventually anyway at the end.
