The best desk you can get is a filing cabinet and drawer system with a piece of glass on top of both making a table its clean its easy to clean its simple you can move it however you want as long as the furniture you use to hold the glass has equal height 😂
I never even thought about piecing together a computer desk...It seems all the L shaped desks I like on Amazon aren't deep enough. They're all like 19" deep and the table I'm using now is 23" deep and it's a perfect depth. Not really trying to lose 4" of desk space. Gonna have to look into this.
Why did I not think of ordering sht from amazon. I built my desk with leftover construction material and Home Depot supplies for $120. One a plus note. I could slam a person into my desk, and that sht wil be just fine 😂
It just goes down to how much are you willing to spend on a table. Some people who aren't into gaming that much and doesn't cater to the aesthetic look of gaming tables tend to hate on gaming tables and its prices. If you're broke, just shut the fuck up on what other people like/s to buy, it's not your money, it's theirs.
I’ll leave the building to the professionals. Especially with the weight I put on it. Also gaming desks look better if you’re going for a XROCKER, their brand adds to the cosmetic
Add in the price of shipping, taxes, tools(some of which cost over $50-100 alone) labor getting the right measurements alignments making sure you dont damage the wood and have to restart…oh damn its crazy we dont all just start building our own things 🤦♂️

In my opinion the only worth while desk is the secret labs one just because of the quality and craftsmanship + all the feature and accessories…. Everything else just seems ass compared to that 🤷🏼♂️ I was so happy with it we kited out the entire office (20 people) with secret lab desks and chairs.
Build material are different. I see people (not gamer) have been complaining about their ikea desk because the countertop is bad quality, will bend and break with heavy usage and force. I myself also prefer a long lasting desk, not something that I have to replace once a year or so
It depends what the internal material is. If it’s fully wood, that would be a reasonable price as it also rises. The linmon is made of cardboard on the inside and is only cased in wood.
Because your tabletop for $9 will last maybe a year before it breaks or wears down lol. My desk from Uplift cost $2,400. It electric/standing if needed and has built in power, hides any hint of cables and has lasted 5 years with not a single point of wear.
Nah bro Id use straight up hardwood because its not only sturdy and durable but Its extremely cheap to find either get lucky on curbside bulk trash and restore it or get lucky and find one for dirt cheap. So far it hasn’t broken yet lol. I still laugh at my friends spending half a grand for their gaming set up then call me the weird one for using hardwood until their crap wood made with glue and wood shavings expands and falls apart.
But that desk doesn't have integrated RGB, fps will definitely suffer. Seriously though, I was going to build an all IKEA desk. Unfortunately mine came out to be much more than $80. Then went to check out and they wanted $230 just to ship lmao. No freaking way am I paying +$350 for a cardboard desk. Ended up getting a 72×25 solid wood slab for $150, 2 used Alex Drawers from the local market at $60 (only using 1 for actual desk), and 3 legs for like $20. I did have to finish the top myself, but these new one coat hard waxes are amazing. So that was a breeze. I'll be putting it together tomorrow, once my finish dries. Much more beautiful than the cheap IKEA tops and it'll last, probably the rest of my life, minus the Alex drawer. But I can easily pop 2 more legs on or something. I'd love to get a custom cabinet (or 2) made someday. But kinda pricy for me at the moment. I'm very happy though, can't wait to cable manage 😅.
I paid $10 for a 50" desk from Ikea with removable legs. If I wanted a gaming desk it would have been hundreds down the drain for aesthetic looks. I do use a gaming chair just to match the gamer aesthetic
