Never actually faced a capable enemy fighter. It has only bombed ground targets and many stationary ones, which can be done by many other fighters as well.
I remember when the SR-71 was demonstrated for a New York to London mail run and the thing lifted kind of like that. Then tipped the nose up at least 70 degrees up and accelerated so fast that the camera at the other end of the runway had trouble following it. These beasts of the air are all pretty much incredible machines.
i'm in canada and remember the blackbird coming to the toronto airshow in eighty six. came in almost in a dive maneuver with very little sound then full up with an after burner longer than an apartment building. the sound it made was like none other. i used to love the voodoss too. the AK on the raptor is that for Arkansas I wonder?
@@crazyinpdx70 -- Alaska... thx.... Canada has a lot to thank for on military defence that Alaska is USA land. NATO is one thing.... but to have an actual land buffer to Russia is another. Glad the USA is our neighbor and not Russia.
i live in the UK and don't get me wrong we have built some great military aircraft but i would say that America builds the best and watching the war in Ukraine at the moment the Russians would not have a chance against the west .
@@RonBand01 That engine was convenient and available to install. Nothing big there. We built them in the USA. Britain was a dead-duck by then, wiithout the USA.
Just Beautiful Machines, I love the rectangular shape of the f-22 afterburners, so cool 😎...I still think that this is a better jet than our f-35 BTW anyone know where this video took place?
So incredible how short the duration of full power, roll, rotate, gear up, and going ballistic (vertical) this aircraft can accomplish and to think it is 25+ year old technology. The Raptor is off once again to hunt.
use to live across the bay from the end of the runway at MCAS Beaufort, back in the 70's, nothing like watching F-4's take off just after sunset with the after burners glowing red.
Hi I spent so many summers in RAF Lakenheath, just staying with cousins, after parents divorce, And uncle in Vietnam, just remember it being better than Butlins and great hols xx💟
These are the men and women you look at and say damn. You made the right choice and stuck with it. If I was 18 again no doubt join the air force or navy.
I was a Tower controller at an air base near Phoenix, when on this day, an F-15, called me for clearance. Requested FL410, from KLUF Luke AFB to KLFI Langley AFB, Virginia. Coordination with PHX Approach and ABQ center, came up with his clearance. "Cleared direct to Langley maintain FL410, Restriction: Climb to FL 410 within 5 nm of Luke AFB. Pilot, read back the clearance and said "No sweat on the restriction". I went out on the towers catwalk with my binocs, and watched as the F-15, nosed up at midfield, and climbed vertically into the sky, he reached FL410, remaining within the confines of the restriction and headed East. That was the most impressive climb by any aircraft I have ever witnessed.
Both the F15 and the F16 in their original configuration used the same jet engine, except the F15 has two of them. During the early time to climb tests the F15 broke every record with the exception of the SR71 and the X15. As far as fighter aircraft go even the F22 can’t fly as fast as the 15. Respectfully. I followed this closely and I lived on Eielson AFB at the time of the tests. Later as a Airman stationed at Eielson I found a European aviation publication that posted the actual time-to-climb stats for the F15, when I showed it to our Intel section they had a cow because it was supposed to be “classified”.
@Phillip Banes I’m with you brother, I hope the new engines do everything they want them to do. I think we may need everything we’ve got when China makes their move on Taiwan. I am so afraid Lincoln was right when he said we could not be defeated from a external force, the real danger will come from within.
One of the best 5th gen fighter in the world. Love that fighter jet after the Eurofighter Typhoon which is my 1st favoruite one! Its not a 5th gen but more like a 4.5th gen!
And hey look you can see & touch them unlike the unicorn of the Su-57. It's because the su57 stealth is actually black & gray gorilla tape & they don't want you to see the Garmin taped on the dash using 3M tape.
I not a pilot, I been told there is a minimum air speed based on sevel things and doing the nose up and landing gear below that speed is a bad idea . I listened to a retired military pilot talk about a plane that did this too soon and after burning did not help .. Plane was going to slow nose up gear up , belly landing. I not suggesting these pilots are doing that here but it was a bad idea to do that
Now also short version online 😉
Beautiful jets. I never get tired of watching F-22 fighter jets.
30 years and still the king of kings.. incredible.
As they can kill you un a turn only unmanned can keep upl

sure?
I sleep better at night knowing these guys are out there.
Great video of fantastic aircraft, thanks for posting.

Erg mooi, Gaaf om te zien hoe de flaps automatisch van positie veranderen tijdens het accelereren
🇺🇸👍🇺🇸💪🇺🇸 Go Raptors! Bad guys of the world, bring it on!
God bless our Nation’s war fighters.
The Raptor is almost a little goofy looking on the ground, but absolutely stunning once airborne and extremely intimidating
Nice birds so beautiful
They lift off so fast! Incredible!!
my goodness, they go gear up quickly!
almost as fast as a Baron🙃
I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't there an incident related tho this a while back?
They have to due to possible over speed of landing gear. F22 has crazy accerlation

Well the thing is that the F-22 and F-35 aren’t designed for the same things
Very short takeoff.. 👌 wow

That was a really short roll, I was assuming they were a bit light. No weapons loaded at least.

Amazing how fast they are airborne.
Thats what happens when you have 70,000lbs of thrust at your disposal
@Phillip Banes F-16? No...and certainly isn't king of rate of climb.
@Phillip Banes Your perspective and opinion are fine, they just aren't fact. That's all. Take care.
Awesome!
Woohoooo..awesome!!!
Thats gotta be fun
Daaaaaaaamn... that's about a half a billion dollars of military 💪 that just taxied by us. 🤠

Man,do they pull the gear up quick!🙀
That is so they do not overspeed the gear and gear doors while accelerating.
Not very quick compared to a Buccaneer....

WOW!!! Those things are QUICK!!!

Augmetor not afterburner. Augmentor is used in bypass turbo fans. Afterburner is used in older non-bypass jet engines.

Surprised they're using burner. Short runway there? Even more surprising is that some appear not to have lenses on them...
Always use burner on takeoff.

Do millennials know the actual definition of the word "insane" seems like nowadays it's the most incorrectly and overused word on the planet.
Damn……..
Almost as good as a Lightning, no not that monstrosity a proper Lightning.
I think, F-4 phantom the best in the runway takeoff
The fact they don't start with brakes on full dry thrust ruins the acceleration at the beginning.

NOT INSANE! Fairly standard “military type” take off….
@Phillip Banes TRUE. I was trying to express the normality of the take off. That’s why I spelled out military power. Bad choice of terms. I’ll edit.
Their replacement is already flying
Not one of them used afterburn.
