- LEGO Star Wars minifigures can either be a massive hit, or a major miss, so today I'm going to upgrade those misses to make the minifigures much more detailed and accurate.

The reason Rex didn't get any cloth cama is because LEGO spent all the cloth on the new DUNE set... 💀

Awesome upgrades! However, I’d like to point out that the 2020 Mandalorian Battle Pack did actually include a black version of the stiffer Mando cape. Also, I personally thought that Shin’s cape looked closer to brown in the show, so I used one of the two dark brown Mando capes also included in the battle pack.

Holly the Mandalorian cape appeared officially back in 2020 in the Mando battle pack. It's come officially in dark bluish grey, olive green, dark brown and black.

The piece you chose for Luke's hair makes it look like CGI Luke from the Mandalorian
I would have swapped Padme's head with the one from the 2013 Republic Gunship because the new one uses Jyn Erso's head and doesn't look like Natalie Portman as much.

For shin hati, I'd recommend using the arms from the mandalorian and also a brown mandalorian cape
I made the same changes to Baylan and Shin Hati! Also I added Obi Wan's cloak from the Scythe set onto Ahsoka.
If you have the U-Wing you should definetly put Jyn Ersos poncho on Ahsoka

I think that Shin's cape was closer to a dark brown in the show. Fortunately enough, the Mandalorian battle pack came with the slimmer dark brown cape for that, so that's what I used.
I definitely agree with Luke's hair. It looks too long to how it is in the movie.
Love the legs you used for Padme. I also wish they just reused the face that they made for her in the last Republic Gunship we got years ago. It genuinely looks like Natalie Portman's face. But no, they gave us a generic face they've been using for half of the female roster across so many themes.
Jacen's hair was a mistake that was just plain dumb. His hair doesn't look anywhere close to Brown in any shot he's in.
I love that Whiteout idea for Captain Vaughn's visor. Definitely trying it.
I definitely need to get more of those Miles Morales legs for my Imperial Officers!

Holy, that sharpie remark blasted me to the past when I tried making custom clones using sharpie markers and they looked exactly like that. I had an old channel here on UA-cam with a video because I was so inspired by MGF to make custom clones and it was not a great vid, but I was only 8 at the time.
I bought a black cape for my Baylan Skoll minifig off of eBay. Then to upgrade his lightsaber hilt, I found a dark metallic gray version and added a light gray stud with a hole to the top. I may try the Mando cape for Shin since I have multiple versions rather than shelling out cash just for another cape. Thanks for the awesome advice.😁
It just dawned on me that Lego could retool the rangefinder piece so the peg is higher up the mast. That way when it is up, the base will be over the bump, and will line up with the view port when down. Great video👍

I had the legs for Padme ready for the set as I was making up a Padme using the clone wars torso. When I get Rex he’s getting the kama, 2008 pistols and black rangefinder
great upgrades, been looking for a hair piece for Jaycen since picking up the Ghost, managed to grab that lime one from BrickOwl 👍🏼
For the Vaughn upgrade I would've used the dark red visor from the 2012 arc trooper I think it looks a little closer to how he appeared in the show
The Black Startch paper Mandalorian cape is a lego peice its on the orange and sand blue mandalorian figure from the battle pack
For me, Jasons hair in the show appears dark brown, like the minifig... though probably doesn't help that im color-impared 🤣

I highly recommend Firestar for custom clone pauldrons that are much better both visually and in terms of size/scale than the cloth Lego official ones
3:25 you can use the series 22 birdwatcher legs, cuz it looks way more better.
I have been against anything non-official Lego customs for the longest time, but after seeing your videos I am beginning to really like them.
Actually I think the trans neon blade is not that bad for Baylan and Shin. Their lightsaber color is not red but it's also not the standard orange blade from Fallen Order, it's something in the middle. And since the trans neon blade has a very reddish glow to it it really fits.
I remember holding my Bionicles with their trans neon orange eyestalks against the sunlight and it almost looked more like red glowing eyes than the actual red eyestalks some figures like Matau came with.

The hair piece LEGO used doesn't fit Jacen, makes him look like Ned from newer Spiderman movies haha!

Sadly not, it was too big and expensive for me to justify so I just picked up the minifigs
Love this as while I don't normally do third party ip. I do like making mini figures more accurate no matter what the ip. We shouldn't have to though with the cost of Lego esp y'all star wars peeps. And their ucs set figs that even I feel aren't good sometimes. Anything over 200$ should have perfect accurate minifigures
The red lightsabers are so in accurate!! They are meant to be orange! I couldn’t find any orange blades on bricklink though… are there official orange ones??
There is! The colour is trans neon orange, it originally came in some Nexo Knight sets

Personally i think rex could’ve used a better helmet in my opinion i think the one we got was just a bit too tall and i know that this is a small thing to nitpick about but I personally use my firestar toys rex helmet due to its more accurate head shape

They’re all from firestar toys, they recently had a fire in their warehouse and are just getting back on their feet so I’m not sure if these ones are back in stock

Not molding a hair piece in a new color in a $200 set: reasonable
Not including a cloth waist cape piece that’s existed for 20 years in a $700 set: unreasonable
Using the new pseudo-hood piece in anything IMMEDIATELY DOWNGRADES the minifigure.
And I'll fight anyone on this. The new molde is atrocious and looks like everything BUT a hood.
And I'm sorry but that custom hairpiece for Luke is also atrocious. Also the wrong colour. If you're going custom anyway, then it should use a lighter brown rather than dark blonde.

Nobody talks about how captain Rex’s pouldrin is the same size as the old one. People just want to complain about the new one because they realised the only thing they can reasonably complain about was the lack of Kama.

For Jason, you gotta think like a company, why make a new color for a piece for one throw away character as of now, when that piece is likely not going to be useful in the future, when they could just throw on the closest thing they got, they did the same thing for Ezra
Absolutely, however I thought it could be a piece they could easily put in friends, city, creator and especially dreamzz. A recolour too is much cheaper than a new mould, maybe they thought the show was too risky for one, or Lucasfilm had something else in the concept art
