I actually like the Kutna Hora box, it's absolutely different from the games on my shelf. Granted, the interior design seems different from that box, but just black pops out for me.
Makes sense. I have several games that pop out at me as well. But for me, it's because my game shelves are spring loaded. It's not the best system, I admit.

I remember you watching our playing of Kutna Hora! I do agree with the box art, it is a little disappointing in comparison with the stunning components. And Paula did come darn close to winning… (although she was third, according to my scores)

Playing Medium for the first time with someone you've met once before and you English not being your native language created some funny weird situation. lol.

I have the same problem with my Bora Bora game. I think it’s the Feld factor?
I know for myself, I've played and enjoyed many Felds, but I also had trouble getting this one to the table... I suspected it was the setup (as I remember, there were loads of stacks of tokens to set up). But I always heard the game was very good! -Rodney
I also think the player boards are intimidating than they should be. Just a thought
