This shows the difference in a veteran driver and a relatively new driver. Harvick found himself in the middle of three wide and knew Larson's car would slide up the track so he backed off. Wallace chose to try to maintain the position. Which is not to excuse Larson, he was probably pushing too hard at that point in the race, but it's also a race, not a cruise. Wallace had a lane, but he also pushed up and hit the wall.
There's no reason to come down and clip a guy and cause a wreck like that. Then get out and this great big guy shove a little guy around before they've even been checked out at the care center.

I wish any car was to the outside of Larson because if he was to go into the wall without any other contact, it would have been straight into the wall at the worst part of the car. Drivers side impact is bad enough, but if bowman backed into the wall at texas like he did and is under concussion protocol, there is no doubt that this would have been a similar, if not worse injury. Bubba's apology was a well scripted joke! He was dead wrong and should be suspended and fined! NASCAR pulled out a phantom fine for Tony Stewart last week and yet they seem to hide when it comes to Bubbas poor behavior! You can bet that Michael Jordan wasn't proud of him!

Trying to defend him as a his Spotter I get it, however a Driver at his level needs to show the Maturity to know how to keep emotions in check and not put other Drivers at risk because you lack the ability to maintain your composure.. and I believe Kenny Wallace's take on this was Spot on..

Bubba Wallace has an entitled victim complex.
He turned a garage door closing loop into a "noose"
This time he purposely wreaked *TWO* other competitors for what was a racing incident that in his mind victimized him.
Then he broke all sorts of safety regulations.
And finally started bullying one of those competitors using his obviously bigger physique to try to emphasize his victim-hood and his anger.
Later he tried to bullshit his way out of accepting responsibility for his actions by claiming his steering had broken in some way after the initial wall scrape.
    I call *BULLSHIT*
Things in the steering/suspension might have been bent after the first impact and if it is found to be broken when the car got back to the garage it was because of the cowardly and deliberate "revenge" on Kyle Larson due to his own "victim rage".
NASCAR should punish him, make an example that this sort of crap WILL NOT BE TOLERATED - AT ALL...
    The punishment?
For the rest of this season AND next season he starts at the back of the pack *AND HAS A 1 LAP PENALTY*
    Harsh?
    Yes it is...
BUT it will send the message that *DANGEROUS BULLYING ANTICS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! *

Kyle said it best about Bubba: after bouncing off the wall his day was not done, but after the retaliation it was.
Many drivers have bounced off the wall and continued racing sometimes even on to win.
Bubba needs to work on his patience and emotional maturity if he wants to compete at the cup level. He should be parked for the rest of the year, if not the whole of next year.
After all, didn't Kyle Larson get penalized and entire year for something he did that was not even on the track?

The lying was a close second to a possible terrible injury. It one thing if you wreck by accident. But to live with a decision to wreck someone in a fit of anger and you ruin someone's life... It is bad for the person being injured as well as the offender.

I keep missing something. I've seen a few comments, but everybody dances lightly over it. He walked damn near 100 yds and intentionally assaulted Kyle Larson. If you do that out in public, you go to jail. I don't understand why this is OK. It's also not football where everything is physical to begin with. That I understand sometimes. If this is OK, then it's OK for anybody at any time when they are upset by another driver in nascar to physically assault the other. That's the take I get.

Suspending a driver is not unprecedented 🙄 Kyle Busch in 2011, Kevin Harvick is 2002, Matt Kenseth 2015, each was suspended for wrecking someone on purpose. Does it happen a lot? No. But it happens and it should happen to Bubba.

  • @vettepilot427

Larson had the position, Bubba should have backed out, but he stayed in it and hit the wall. Then he hits Larson, not under caution, but AT SPEED and wrecks him and a Chase contender. He gets out of his car, shoves Larson (who doesn't retaliate), and shoves an official. He sums all this up in an interview with some video game BS excuse, "I don't lift". If you want to have any longevity in this business and win championships, you better learn how to lift and bring your car home in one piece. Wallace is undermining his own talent. If NASCAR wants him to have a future in the sport, they need to penalize him in hopes that he matures and becomes a better driver.
NASCAR has always had some fault in this. They penalize drivers for certain behavior and then use that footage to promote the race next week. It's a mixed message that goes back to the beginning of NASCAR. Now guys are getting seriously hurt and they have a problem keeping clean racing each week. It's partly why the big sponsors have pulled out. They don't pay millions to have torn-up race cars.
