- What are the best Nike Kobe sneakers of all time? Complex recently ranked the top 24 designs from Kobe Bryant’s run of Nike signature shoes in celebration of Mamba Day. Coming off that list, the Complex Sneakers Show recruited Kobe fanatic Darryl Glover to get his reactions to the list and also talk about his history with the shoes. Is the “Grinch” Nike Kobe 6 really the best Kobe ever? Is the HTM Kobe 9 overrated? Growing up basketball never had the same impact as football to me over here in the UK - but we all knew about Kobe! Very interesting to hear Darryl speak about his passion with such knowledge, definitely would like to see more collectors/experts/enthusiasts in the future.

I went to the states in 87 (from Australia) and bought the field generals to play cricket in. I would have been one of the first kids to play cricket in Nikes - even though they were made for American Football but we all played in astroturf pitches.
This show keeps getting better and better. I think Matt Welty actually has likable qualities. 💯
This was perfect timing in terms of Kobe Brand relaunching, I would like to fully admit that I have only been paying attention to snkrs since 2020, so this was a great introduction into the kobe shoes that matter. I have a lot to learn but Im enjoying sneakers and enjoying the show.
The Kobe 6 FC Barcelona in the mango colorway is my all time favorite in his line, I have the matching away kit from that year. I believe it was the 2009/2010 season

I had a few moments of retrospect and admiration of Vanessa during this podcast. I can't imagine how difficult it is to carry on the Legacy, but something tells me that it will be done with a great deal of Care, Class, and of course, Honor. I am excited to see what the future brings!

Just want to share I loved this ep, Kobe's are my favorite shoes. In college (early/mid 2000s)I was on our University salsa dance team, and I would wear my Kobe's on the dance floor. But they're basketball shoes and not dance shoes(dance shoes have a felt/suede bottom for spinning/turning). Because the basketball shoes had so much grip on the dance floor I would tape the bottom of the toes on the outsole so that I could spin and dance in my Kobe's lol. I had the brave blue 9, showtime 9, and black and gold Kobe 6 that were my go to's when dancing. Even took the 6's on a hike and absolutely cooked them but I loved those shoes.

Great episode! BUT……….It lowkey bothers me that the boys had a Kobe sneaker convo without mentioning Eric Avar, Jason Petrie, Sonny Vaccaro and others behind the scenes of this phenomenal line. Obviously Kobe’s legacy is what make these sneakers important BUT I needed more insider info and knowledge on this episode.

Kobe is my favorite player of all time I think him alongside MJ are the best basketball players that have ever existed, nobody above them for accolades, resume and especially for the actual game. However I love to wear sneakers casually and majority of Kobes are lowtops and they don't go with my style plus the Kobe line happened during the unfortunately era of transition from real materials to synthetics. And as I said I don't love low tops aesthetically they look good only on an actual sporty/performance vibe, so they're limited on a casual style, having said that my list is not set in stone, I speak only for myself and to me exclusive sneakers definitely count:

In that pic Welty was in with the noctas shoes in all white, the fit was too good, it was a black and white theme, and since joe black toned it went well. He matched perfectly, and s/o Welty for wearing the lapiz lazuli, I got my pair and wear it also… handle
