A little bit of a beast to paddle... learned that myself today. Its like paddling a barge. Not ever worried about flipping it but need to hit the gym for sure.
First time I took my Outlaw out they were a 15 to 20 mph constant breeze. I paddled it across the lake I was at just so I could back it into some cattails and fished there. Lol
I recently purchased an outlaw and debating whether to put an electric trolling motor 55lb thrust or a small 2.5hp gas outboard on the back. How does your setup perform up river?
The 55lb does great upstream for me! If the current is really heavy (faster than 4ish mph) I can’t go any further.. so maybe the outboard would allow for that but I’m not sure. The 55lb works for 90% of the river areas I fish though so it just depends on your river
The 55lb is great for maintaining position in current as well. If you can match the river speed then it’s basically spot lock.. not sure how easy that would be with an outboard

Nice yak!
Thanks!
Did you put any type of backing plate on the Wilderness Systems motor mount?
Yep! Couple pieces of plastic cutting board did the job!
@@KzooKayakFishing Thanks that’s what I had in mind doing.
@@Jim-K-Baker no problem good luck!
What battery did you go with
LiTime 100ah. Works great! Lasts forever out there
