The problem, and JJ noted this in his convo with Silver, is that unlike MLB & NFL where this is second nature, basketball is such a fast sport with few natural breaks in play.
A well-officiated, free flowing game could conceivably have 4-5 game minutes of play without any dead balls.

Work on scoring in 3 dribbles to understand when you have space and how to create space, focus on learning how to talk on offense and set up an offence, do drills at slow medium and game speed, to learn to play at your own pace. No one should be able to speed you up or slow you down as a point guard, if you have an off day scoring don’t ever have one rebounding hustling talking and leading, work on body language, keep the work ethic. Put on athletic muscle as well. Good luck. Also it’s all about connections make connections.
