For entertainment's sake, '96 Kemp catching lobs all over the court from Magic/Bird/Jokic would produce a few insane plays a game. Not as high a ceiling as MJ or LeBron being on the team, but you'd still sell a helluva lot tickets.
I hated watching Vince tbh. Highlight dunks and some cool threes but he didn’t move the ball well and wasn’t really an off ball mover. Not a real spacer either. Highlight guy but I’m way too pretentious for that ahah

That's what I was thinking in terms of their criteria. Curry is obviously better but for shooting, passing, Nash would be more fun following Bill's criteria.
Chris Webber is the perfect power forward for this team. He can be an athletic finisher to run with Magic, and in the halfcourt he has the exact passing DNA as Jokic/Magic/Bird (and Curry). His biggest fault as a player (gunshy down the stretch) doesn't matter here because he'd be the 5th option, anyway.
Chris Webber is the perfect power forward on these type of teams. He can do everything and while there are better power forwards in the game his game can fit in with any offense and he can switch on defense. Like you said, with him being the 5th guy the pressure would be off of him in the clutch.
@@matthewschelle1829 that's what I posted. I don't think there is anyone I would rather see catching passes from those guys and just throwing them down.
Surprised no one mentioned The Pistol im only 23 so I've seen only 1 live Pete game I couldn't keep my eyes off the guy really ahead of his time super talent and Fun because he came up with so many creative ways to pass and dribble
I think you were on to it earlier with Rodman. With Magic, Bird, Jokic, and Curry, his energy and ability to set screen, lock down whoever and grab every board, and, let's not forget, his elite BBIQ and being an underrated passer = most fun.
Magic, Bird, Jokic, LeBron, and Curry would be crazy fun. What's crazy to me is you are talking about 2013 LeBron and in 2022-23 season he is still putting up 30 consistently.
Bird and magic were spectacular at the same they were making their team better. They were individually great at the same time they were being unselfish. No other players were able to do this.
I’d also love to see a version of this team with those three with early 2000s Garnett in the Lebron spot. Him as a lob finisher and defensive anchor with this team would be insane.
I am surprised Giannis wasn't even mentioned as a lob guy. He jumped over a dudes head on a dunk. He's a willing passer, and watching him and Curry is just, oh my god, fun. Remember the all-star game when Curry was just messing around and bounce passed the ball way into the air to a point nobody should have been able to dunk it. And somebody How Giannis grabs it at its apex and threw it down to everyone's amazement, even guys like Blake. If that's not fun I don't know what is... plus he's always doing wrestling moves with players before games, and calling out the Rock to a weight lifting challenge. He's the definition of fun.
When I think of fun basketball players or a single player I definitely think of Steph Curry. Can you imagine a team with Larry Bird and Jokic and Steph Curry? They would be my solel team on league pass. Add Luka to that team along with magic Johnson and that is a hellacious squad. I'm not sure about the defense but teams are going to have to hit a lot of shots to stay in the game with those guys.
As Bill said late, you need a freak athlete like Dominique or MJ or Bron to cut and finish lobs and help Magic create rim pressure. Would also want a more fun shot blocker. Though Big Ben could’ve made his way in the convo.
It has to be Vince. When have you actually ever seen LeBron finish a lob that's actually been interesting. Carter has a flow chart of like five mind blowing things he could do with it. And given he can take it himself and go over (Weis) it through (Zo) someone, it's the only choice.

Essentially it is the 8 people you liked to watch just for the pure joy with which they played the game. Curry and Nash are probably the models. The guys who are just so fun to watch for the spirit and elan they played with. Three bigs, three wings, two point guards. My team was Sabonis at the 5, Jokic at the 4, Bird at the 3, Maravich at the 2, and Nash on the point (maybe some of my Canadian bias showing here). The only problem is the ball would be moving around so much they would all forget to shoot. Walton would be my big Sub, Curry my wing sub, and Magic my back-up point guard. Leaving Manu, Shai, Cousy and the Iceman off is really difficult, and Vlade was so much fun too, maybe he could be the coach.
I'm still watching but Dominique Wilkins would be a spectacular fit. Someone super athletic, can finish over anyone. Would be crazy with this team. EDIT - so thankful Bill mentioned him!
MJ Giannis Bird Jokic Luka would be nonstop ball movement and buckets! Maybe Steph over Luka just to stretch that range a bit more! Take away some size rebounding and playmaking in exchange for range. Steph MJ Giannis Bird Jokic 🤯

Nash and Steph in the backcourt making crazy no look passes to, Magic and Bird on the wings making crazy 1 touch passes to, Jokic down low who will make a crazy pass to any of the other 4 guys wide open by that point!
Put Curry and Jordan in with them and watch them toy with any 5 players you wanna put against them. Damn, you could probably put 6 or 7 to play against them to make it a bit more fair. The rebounding, passing, shooting and play in the paint... Jordan's acrobatic finishes to the lobs... The unimaginably attractive fastbreaks... The other team could just watch them do their thing.

DJ, Kobe, Pippen, Antetokounmpo, Gilmore
Manu ginobili was fun
Steve Nash - Manu Ginobili - Boris Diaw - Zach Randolph - Jermaine O'Neal
Prime Webber at 4 would fit perfect with Bird, Magic, Joker.
In that 5th slot (with Steph and the core 3) you want attitude, perimeter defense, lob threat, and fast pace. Go either with Kobe or Gary Payton
Good picks.
allen iverson, steph curry, lebron james, larry bird, nikola jokic
Jokic-- Garnet- Bird- Jason Williams- Magic 😁
Uuuu to!!!
Bird ahead of Lebron is just ridiculous. Bird should not be on this list...too unathletic.
@@Veggamattic shut up, you know nothing. Bird was crazy fun and way better all round player than LeBron
List is incomplete without ginobli
If we're talking fun I want Jason Williams and AI as my backcourt. Vince Carter at the 3, Larry at 4 and Shaq at center.
Carmello Anthony? Hello! Who better to pair with ball movers than the best passing PF of all time! /s
Bird, Magic, Jokic, Garnett, and AIR CANADA... OMG
Either can go high flyer at the 4 like Shawn kemp maybe even Barkley or all around like Rasheed Wallace or kg or maybe go modern and pick up dirk and other spot athletic slashing shooter like Klay or ray allen would be fun
And also,
'05 Steve Nash
'95 Penny Hardaway
'86 Bird
'93 Kemp
'72 Wilt
whats simmons problem with vince carter
He quit on his team
