Great video! I’ve been battling same issue in exactly the same mustang and color you have for 3 yrs. now. I’ve tried various apoxy’s and they all failed. I just saw this and can’t wait to try it. Thanks for your idea.
use 3m window weld 25 a tube caulk gun use 3m tape on window and fabric nice small med bead push down it lock her down way better than epoxy junk or spray stuff wont hold it hold it self no clamps needed push work down nice in easy 10 min it hold for the life of the top 10 more years 3m window weld is best they all sell it 30 a tube dont need much
Been having this problem for a while, I actually used 3m tape for a couple months and it worked but when driving in the rain the wind pressure pulled it up again and my back seats kept getting wet. I gonna try this now to see it it works any better 👌🏻
Im trying this right now. Mine is almost completely unglued except for a spot in the bottom so I'm not expecting a lot but we'll see if i can do something with it.
Perfect weather conditions too, it just stopped drzzling and it wont again for the next 2 days. It's also overcast so the sun won't melt it while its setting

Dude your the best!! I have a 2010 "pink" convertible mustang V6! It's bad ass lol but I keep finding water in my trunk and under the two back seats an it fills up so full it got the carpets wet!! I'm going to check that back window!! Thank you so much 🥰 did you ever have water in your trunk as well? Please let me know thank you!
I have this problem. The top has separated from the glass. I always have to cover it when it rains if I don’t the water goes down the back window. When you open the top it pools down under the seat like your problem lol. A new top is $1500. Maybe I will try this. Wouldn’t be so bad if the water drained out but it doesn’t.
I sealed the glass to the top with 3m window weld. Worked great but I still have the water problem. I drilled holes in the floor so the water would drain out lol.
@@DYFEA I see the passenger side window Doesnt sit up against the weather stripping flush. It’s probably coming through there. Probably needs new weather stripping. Thanks for the ideas.
@@VetHub24 im really glad to hear that!!!!! glad my vid is helping people, ik it was frustrating when i found the leak on mine. enjoy the leakfree car!
So did you only glue the bottom of glass and sides how far up on sides? I have a 08 mustang convertible, not wanting new top it’s still pretty good except for window.
So i only reglued what was loose, if yours is like mine and partially still attached then do what i did. If its completely off, reseal everything but i cant giarantee thatd hold as well! And make sure to keep pressure like i did, it needs to bond tightly. Good luck!
My top on 06 convertible was fine until I started using F11 Topcoat and I did back window and some spray got on edges of convertible top where it seals against the back window and within 24hrs the whole thing turned loose. Nothing against the product, I just wasn’t thinking like usual especially about anything like that even being possible, so anyone who uses those nanotechnology car polishes just be careful where you use it. I’m not saying that you should go as far as actually reading the instructions or nothing. Just a friendly warning to hopefully keep someone else from making the same mistake as I did.
How is it holding up? I have the same issue on my 07, and of course everyone and their mother is either quoting me $200-300 or telling me I need a new top. 🙄
No change! No leak! I check it periodically still, id just recomend being very careful with the excess goo cause it looks bad having it stuck in the fabric, just take your time with it!
@@mennasaleh6167 yep, same as always! And np man, im glad this vids been helpin people fix their cars lol, the whole reason i started youtube car stuff
Hi DYFEA, did this repair last? A respectful company here is south FL just quoted me 1.9K to replace the top of my 2008 Mustang with the same problem than yours.
Yes it held up, the new owner still hasnt had issues! It doesnt look professional but will save you 2k while you save up. It has lasted years at this point
The window is falling in and there isnt enough slack on the top with it lifted to get the clamps on, this doesn't work for me and i want to bash my head through a wall
Damn im sorry to hear that man, but dont lose hope! What year car is yours? And is there any roof opening position that allows you to clamp down? If not, you might just have to resory to resting heavy stuff on it. Try to jerry rig it as much as you can, but if its truly impossiblr you might have to resort to a pro job. Let me know what happens man
@@Armyreaper alright take the back seat and the side interoor panel out, if its big stuff like leaves grab it yourself by reaching in through the big hole. If not try a shop vac!

From a pro upholstery guy, when that happens get a new top. It’s a rot issue and that is happening to every heat seal on the top. The top is shrinking and causing these issues. Looks awful.
i see how others appreciate this video but i found it to be not helpful at all because you did not show how or where you applied the silicone!! maybe it’ll be more obvious to me once i look under the canvas at the bottom of the window. thanks for showing which product to use tho

So how did it go?
@sbond1963 it worked fine. The back window was completely sealed. However, I ended up replacing the entire top and liner because someone cut the top.
