- This is what I would like to find out along the Jurassic Coast today -a lovely little iron pyrite ammonite . Come fossil hunting with me in early May at the end of the bank holiday.Learn how i find some iron pyrite ammonites in certain concentrations of 'fools gold,' along the beach .I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide.Have a look at some of the fossils you can find along the Jurassic Coast in this video. The best tools are your eyes when finding fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs, the best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast.

Thank you for your lovely and hard work. I know there's a lot of disappointments but the rewards are well worth that.😌👍
Yes 🙌 very true there a lot of disappointments in collecting fossils , you need a lot of luck 🍀 on your side
Awesome finds, that petrified wood is very cool!!
Thank you I like finding petrified wood 🪵 🪨 🙌
Thumbs up pressed 👍
Great video and finds! I bet when people buy fossils from your shop they need a sturdy bag sometimes..imagining your own canvas bag with a huge ammonite or suchlike on plus your lovely shop's name!🌊🌊🌊
That’s a good point , yes 🙌! I had to give my sturdy shopping 🛍 bag to a customer the other day . They bought a good sized fossil from me . They wanted to carry the bag over their shoulder with the fossil in it . They needed to head up the hill 😮. I will need another “bag for life , “ for the shops again .
@@LymeRegisFossils Some useful merchandise 🎉🎉🌊🌊
Nice video. Sieving for the fossils is so rewarding. That sieve full there is really lucky considering the tourists that have hunted the area.
Thanks very much, I had a real bit of luck there . However , I saw lady today who visited the beach at low tide and she was from Canberra , Australia. She really found an excellent sea urchin specimen along the Jurassic Coast.
@@LymeRegisFossilsThat’s a fanatic find for the tourist. I bet she was pleased
@@sebm1 she had that look of delight , from finding a very special fossil .
Always love the proms. Keep up the great work Brandon! ;)
Thanks 🙏 very much Phil . I’ve nearly finished the big film 🎞 from the winter ❄️ fossiling , I’m looking forward to you seeing the it . There is a monster fossil in the footage , I’m still editing the last bit 🙌😁
@@LymeRegisFossils I'm really looking forward to this "monster" Brandon ;)
Thanks 🙏 Phil I can honestly say “ you ain’t seen nothing yet “ when it comes to the huge fossil find . I just need to edit some film and try and get one last shot of the final fossil - how it’s looking
Good video Brandon, just shows what you can still find on the beach 👍
Wow! you should see all the people that were on the beach this weekend . So many people having a go fossil hunting . I saw an excellent sea urchin in flint a young lad found recently. Thanks for your comment.
@@LymeRegisFossils Bet it was heaving with the festival as well
Yes 🙌 that brought the folkes in as well as the bank holiday getaway from it all tourists
Your exactly right
We go there this Saturday 7.5. Wish me luck.
Good luck out there at low tide with the fossil collecting. There is a food festival as well in Lyme Regis this weekend, so it’s going to be quite busy as the weather looks fabulous
@@LymeRegisFossils yep I know about food festival. Maybe we change direction and go to charmouth.
The Charmouth Heritage Centre is a great place to see all the fossils that have been found - at low tide . It’s a great educational place to go about the fossils of the Jurassic Coast . It’s very hands on over there and you get the fossils that are found in the area into your minds eye . There is a chap called Phil there , he is very knowledgeable. He has found some great fossil specimens himself.
You can get it if you realy want, but you must try, try, try
💯 karsten , you put in great work for saving the fossils 💪
I'm thinking of buying a trilobite fossil online, maybe they're fake? Even so, it will make a nice ornament for the living room.
How to spot a fake trilobite. I just googled that and it gives you some pointers of what to look for if your buying a trilobite
@@LymeRegisFossils Thanks.
