Of all the things that are near impossible to serve raw, it's a fried egg. Because it's so obvious when it's raw. You don't have to open it like a boiled egg, you don't have to cut into it like meat, and it can't tell you sweet lies like fish can. There's a reason you're asked to softboil an egg in culinary school on the first day and not fry it.
Still love how with a 2 second glance Ramsay could tell which one was a sample plate.
I always get self-conscious about making eggs.
@@FedUpFancy Despite having been a chef for 4 years and cooking for longer; I still hate making fried eggs. I still split the yellow yolk regularly. But I also did it all the time when I was new and fucking it up is how I learned to stop that happening. Now it happens due to negligence; not ability.
If you don't make an effort to regularly make eggs, you won't improve. It'll teach you techniques and timing for making them I promise.

I’m convinced if Ramsey had saw that when it happened and not heard about it at elimination she would have been gone right then and there. I’m still amazed he didn’t eliminate her that night.
@@420mralucard he only kept her because he respected that she put herself up when he didn’t even know about it. She could’ve just said nothing and he would have never known but she owned up to her mistake and he respected it.

"breakfast is the easiest thing to cook" famous last words....eggs are secretly the trickiest food to cook well. It's a gold standard for testing chefs for a reason. Also crepes are delicate.

I know to pull the eggs before they're cooked. But I just can't bring myself to remove food from the heat before it's done.
I think the secret for me would probably be to cook them like normal, then when they're maybe halfway to the point where they should be pulled, turn the heat all the way down to low. They'll cook slowly and I'll have a lot more wiggle room both in time and temperature, so even if I pull them when they're done (and thus overdone by the time they finish cooking), they won't go that far over.
I haven't watched too much of the show, but I would love to be Sterling's friend. Dude just seems like he has a great heart
