It's that time of year again. Time to sit around with the family, enjoy a warm cup of some kind of rum beverage and listen to The Johnny Lawrence Story, Die Hard, and Christmas Shoes.
There is no way that "Cobra Kai" was not inspired by this hilarious bit. Patton Oswalt, at the very least, got these people thinking about what these characters might be doing today. And, since Johnny Lawrence's life and character on Cobra Kai lives a crappy life, and mostly as a result of losing to Daniel Larusso, I would say that this bit definitely inspired this new TV show.
@@sunwukong4817 Absolute nonsense, listening it's plain that he didn't even recall the character's name (ie that of the protagonist, "Daniel") and thought Macchio's role, and the movie's hero, was named "Johnny Lawrence".

The true irony of this tale is that, according to my ex-wife, who was an extra in Just One of the Guys, Billy Zabka, who played the bully "Greg," was an extremely nice and down-to-earth person on the set, while Clayton Rohner, who played the geeky hero "Rick," was an arrogant d-bag.

Athena Strong You're like the girl who throws the party and doesn't realize that everyone is actually laughing at you because you lack any decent party snacks. Cool Billy Madison reference!
Zabka was the ultimate 80's jock douchebag. His face in Back to School, when Keith Gordon and Downey are wising off to him in the bar, hahaha. Know the scene I mean? His face kept contorting with disgust. That guy ruled.
I always thought a great plot for a sequel would be where after Kreese betrays Johnny and being he had already made amends with Daniel that he would join Miyagi Do to get revenge.. I think that JL would have greatly improved under Mr Miyagi's teachings and would have been a great team partner for Daniel..
I thought the sequel we got (where Daniel and Miyagi go to Japan and have a run-in with Miyagis old enemy Sato and Satos nephew Chozen) was OK, however I like your idea.

seriously wonder if the idea of exploring this cardboard villain's past and future inspired Cobra Kai...Johnny Lawrence is such a disposable stereotype villain, got to believe whoever created Cobra Kai heards this first
he should make an entire album like this where each track is a different obscure movie character. He could do chunk from goonies, Admiral akbar from starwars, marcus brody from indiana jones... pretty much any character thats imprinted into the american lexicon but obscure enough that he could make up huge parts of their backstory.
