One of the things I have seen with many racing oils is the detergent packages are usually lower and the anti-wear packages are much higher. Interesting! Although I've heard of this Schaeffer's brand oil on the internet before, I have never seen any of its products sold at any stores here in CA. And I've looked at places like Walmart, Autozone, O'Reilley's (formerly Kragen), Pep Boys, Advance Auto, Napa, Carquest, etc. Is it sold only in specialty stores? Or is it a regional thing?
You won't find it in any kind of retail. Schaeffers does not believe 8n advertising. Look up local Schaeffers distributors in your area. Schaeffers made the axle grease for the wagons on the oregon trail. Been around along time!
My Amsoil 20w50 with 3300 miles on it looks better than the schaeffer virgin oil. moly 77, boron 207, calcium 3252, magnesium 133, phos 817, zinc 1103, flashpoint 450.
Well you're a little bit off there you did not say Valvoline extended protection even though in this video it showed you that the Valvoline extended production was close almost right on it but Schaefer's is better
And just because you guys tell me something doesn't mean that I take that to heart because I've been told a lot of things by subscribers on the channel or guys that have been in the field for a while and it's been completely wrong so you got to let me find that stuff out for myself without trying to rub in the whole I Told You So thing because I don't listen to what everybody says here I have to figure it out for myself and eventually I will get there

Hey just something to consider with your oil testing but, how about some oil that is lacking with an appropriate amount of oil additive (like say slick 50 if that is still a thing). Would be interesting to see how the additives change the properties or if the use of them makes a good financial investment.
I'm working on all that but people want me to do all these things now and they're giving me all these different ideas and all of this stuff costs a lot of money and I don't have the amount of views on the videos to support the amount of money that I'm actually currently spending to do all this testing and I don't actually have a lot of time to step out side of what I'm doing now so in the future sure as the channel grows and I make more money to support the new things that people want I can do that but as of right now with minimal help from subscribers I just can't support buying more and more and more and more and veering off track from what I'm already doing
Over the years, Consumer Reports has done a good job of debunking every oil additive they've come across. Independent testing by 540RAT has shown that in almost every case, oil additives degrade the inherent film strength of the oil, which is its primary protection against wear. Save your money. There is no magic additive.
I am frustrated when oil testing reviewers compare oils from different base oil groups. I think all comparison tests should be from within the same group number. Group 2 oils against each other, group 3 oils against each other and so forth. When you compare group 3 oils to group 4 or 5, what exactly is the point? Of course an ultra premium group 4/5 blend like Shaeffer’s 9000 is going to beat the group 3 oils. How about comparing Schaeffer’s 9000 to other ultra premium group 4/5 blends like Amsoil Signature series. That is a shootout I would like to see…
What makes ne upset is when a person commenting talks as if they have facts and really don't know For instance : Amsoil Sig Series is almost all group 3
Not sure how to get the Schaeffer Oil at a "Decent Price"???? It's way more expensive than AMSOIL, and it, (AMSOIL SIG SERIES) is getting to be ridiculous in "DEALER" pricing also. So I been looking at Valvoline Extended Perf, Pennzoil Ultra, And have Moly Gen 5/30 in my 2022 F-150 Now. After watching These Videos by Rich, I probably will stop using the MolyGen (GREEN OIL). And am looking to "TRY" the Schaeffer's brand but i am NOT gonna Pay $15/16/17 for a Quart of it over AMSOIL or Valvoline/Pennzoil Ultra? Project Farm did testing on a Bunch of Oils, and AMSOIL Won the Battle over Schaeffer and Ultra Plat? So, I'am real Curious on the Schaeffer Oil Testing / Sample here. The Outcome is fantastic, but the Project Farm Testing Still had AMSOIL as the Top Doggie??? Great stuff Rich. Cool Machine.
@@Maynardd Type in the search area Amsoil vs Pennzoil, It'll pop up a Video and Show the Full Chart of the test's and the Test Results that he did. About Motul Oil Advisor: I checked it several times, it tells allways that 913a-d at Ford Spec is also suitable for gasoline engine's.. i guess this spec is specially made for Diesel engines? I d'ont understand this lubricant advisor...also says Volvo Spec 0W/30 is alright.. Overall: 8100 Energy is a HC oil, non fully syntetic..cheaper engineering
Rich, you stated that the Motul 8100 ECO-lite is not "100% Synthetic" as advertised and has Group III stock in it, but you didn't state how you know that. The lab test results don't say anything about the base stock. How do you determine whether an oil's base stock is Group III, Group IV, or Group V?
You were not listening and this is my biggest frustration with people, I clearly and I mean clearly stated look up the material safety data sheet via their website and read
@@FordBossMe I know you mean well, brother, and you peg the sincerity meter like no one else, but I'm holding the Motul MSD sheet in my hand, and it don't say shit about Group III base oil.
Amazon
@@FordBossMe ok thanks I'll check there
You won't find it in any kind of retail. Schaeffers does not believe 8n advertising. Look up local Schaeffers distributors in your area. Schaeffers made the axle grease for the wagons on the oregon trail. Been around along time!
@@rrobins9857 wow!!
My Amsoil 20w50 with 3300 miles on it looks better than the schaeffer virgin oil. moly 77, boron 207, calcium 3252, magnesium 133, phos 817, zinc 1103, flashpoint 450.
For some of us this is our football. Can’t wait for the Super Bowl.
This video makes me want to change my oil. Guess I’ll do that today.
The Driven XP8 is a really weird oil... I mean conventonal oil no Additives except Zinc and Phosphorus? Never seen that before.
It's made for performance applications
That’s why I buy it by the 5 gallon bucket
Good video tests came back fast it seems
2-3 weeks
Dear friend please test cenpeco 20 50 racing oil.
like I said b4 Schaeffer 9000 will win, only other oils come close to it is redline amsoil and HPL
Well you're a little bit off there you did not say Valvoline extended protection even though in this video it showed you that the Valvoline extended production was close almost right on it but Schaefer's is better
And just because you guys tell me something doesn't mean that I take that to heart because I've been told a lot of things by subscribers on the channel or guys that have been in the field for a while and it's been completely wrong so you got to let me find that stuff out for myself without trying to rub in the whole I Told You So thing because I don't listen to what everybody says here I have to figure it out for myself and eventually I will get there
@@FordBossMe Yes my bad valvoline EP is great oil to, in fact I just did oil change in my 2023 gmc using the valvoline, I have also use it in my 2020 ram few times for the price you can not beat the valvoline for sure.great oil.
Schaefers 9000 is very pricy too. That has to be taken into account. If you can (and do) change other oils 2 or 3x for same cost is it really that much better?
@@gomerhondo7249 no I would no go any further with oil change than 4k , specially not on a direct injection engine, TJE castrol that i just drain with only 1300 miles on it already darkened up , i will be staying with valvoline on the long run and change it every 4k
Turco oil ????
Pqia also tests for volitity....mobil 1 5w20 did better than valvoline advanced or castrol edge....interesting.
Now if you look at my recent cold flow testing mobile doesn't do very good at all
Would you say Schaeffer's is better than amsoil signature series
@rhinomn
So I know you're new here to this channel and I have to say that already you said mobile one was number one and I already know that you're wrong so I don't know that I feel comfortable with you getting people oil advice here because you've already given the number one oil as like not even middle of the pack oil
Furthermore your listing of what you think is the best oil in the order that you gave it is not correct
The number one oil is Red Line number two could arguably be Amsoil or Pennzoil Platinum Ultra number three would probably be Schaefer 9000 full synthetic number four would be Valvoline extended protection
Number 5 would be something like a Castrol extended protection or a royal purple HPS
Out of all of the oils that I've ever tried mobile has always been one of the worst
I have to do virgin oil testing on the signature series from Amsoil first before I can give you that
Amsoil is the best with pennzoil not far behind.
Redline is the best actually so far
Most people forget about it and don't test it
anybody ised the Schaeffers 9000 5w50 in polaris sportsman atvs?
Shaeffer makes Motor Oil? I Thought they just made beer in New York and New Jersey
That is a shootout I would like to see…
What makes ne upset is when a person commenting talks as if they have facts and really don't know
For instance :
Amsoil Sig Series is almost all group 3
As an Amsoil dealer, i know that is not so. The Amsoil OE is though.@@FordBossMe
It’s been a while, but I did watch that project farm video. Did he even test Schaeffers with the rest? I don’t remember.
@@Maynardd Type in the search area Amsoil vs Pennzoil, It'll pop up a Video and Show the Full Chart of the test's and the Test Results that he did. Pennzoil Ultra Plat actually beat Schaeffers to make it to the Farms Final testing where Amsoil beat Pennzoil for the Crown. Somewhere in his testing you can find the match up 1 on 1.
Where are you located? I will sell you Schaeffer's direct.
@@doncox8966 Sounds Great Don, However, I'am in San Jose Calif, and If you can send it with "FREE SHIPPING" and for $10.00 Per Quart, I might be Interested.
20$ a quart?
If yall want to really understand what the different additives actually do, or understand the chemistry of it, then I highly recommend a channel called Lubrication Explained. I've been binge watching his stuff and been learning a lot.
Overall: 8100 Energy is a HC oil, non fully syntetic..cheaper engineering
mobil-1 smells the best when heated !!!! sweeet.
For the price and most peoples car use, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum will win in the end.
Their website says it's a mix of PAO and ester base oils, depending on application. You are indeed a professional automotive tech, but you are not degreed chemist or petrochemical engineer, and your testing is no more "professional" than Project Farm. Let's all give credit where credit is due and strive to pump out the bullshit.
