Hey Poof Imma type this just in case because I haven't seen you mention it But there isn't a specifically set amount of wall hits or falls in the game due to item scores Hitting characters with items actually makes your chances of getting a star rank higher So if falling off the course is minus points, hitting a character with a shell is plus points (hitting them when using the star and crushing them with the mega mushroom also count) This allows you to make up for any mistakes you make in raw driving through the cup and maintain eligibility for a star rank Hope this can help :)
A tip which I think will be very useful: press A as soon as you touch the ground when lakitu drops you off. You will instantly get up to full speed again and will save you much time. Love the videos!
