GREAT details, close ups and narration. Details you need when trying to do a job. The other same old, same old garbage out there is such a waste of time, with all the dramatic effects, "whats up you tubers" crap etc. Thank you so much. Teach those people how its done!
This was the only video where they show how to get it out of the dash to begin with. Thank you so much for being practical and showing the whole precess. Well Done!
Very well presented. I love that you showed the wiring on the back of the switch. I have two wires attached to the male threaded rod. My male blade connecter was not connected but I probably knocked it off the back pulling the switch out. You called it a brake switch connector? What does it actually do? Also, your camera shots of the installed Ign switch and the tumbler position saved my butt big time!!! Had the tumbler and switch separated and could not get the two to connect. I forgot to paperclip the tumbler and get it back to the same position as it was when pulled out of switch. Can't thank you enough. New subscriber from Motown.
@robertclymer6948 thanks you for the kind words. Yeah I really made a effort in filming the video the way I would like to see it. Glad you found it helpful
@Mattew Tolerson I believe the key cylinder has to come out for the bezel to be removed. If I remember correctly the bezel has a lip on it that would keep it from coming off.
Hey so I bought a 69 F100 yesterday. The seller lost the key to the truck so we bought the ignition switch and the key to replace it. We tried to take off the original switch with the replacement key, but it won't work.
@Tharin Weldon if the last owner lost the key you are probably going to have to drill it out. I never did it myself. But I believe there is a video of a guy drilling out a key cylinder here on UA-cam. Give it a search and see if that is what you have to do. Good luck
@Kaw Shin I believe if you still can turn and compress the spring then you should be able to get it out. If it won’t turn, I am not sure I think it can drilled out. Never done that myself . Might be other videos on UA-cam. Either way good luck. Let me know how it works out.
@@midlifecustoms thank you for replying. I was asking because i didnt know if you have to replace the entire unit (both pieces) or just the inside cylinder. I rather replace the cylinder only. Then i purchases it that was the only piece they sent me anyway plus the new keys.
@@midlifecustoms the key still turns. Its broken off only halfway. I don't want to deal with removing the switch and disconnecting wiring. Im not experience with that lol

About to go do this because I suspect my 77 F250 has a dying ignition switch. Hopefully replacing it does the trick!

@Rudy Corona thank you
Do I have to take the tumbler out to take off the Bezzle or can I just remove the bezzle with the tumbler still in?
@Mattew Tolerson I believe the key cylinder has to come out for the bezel to be removed. If I remember correctly the bezel has a lip on it that would keep it from coming off.

My key broke off inside the cylinder. Can i just replace the cylinder or do i have to disconnect the entire thing from the wiring?
