Hello my name is Greg and I like building stuff. Welcome to my channel Midlife Customs.
I post videos of various projects (working on cars and trucks/DIY videos/acting clips) and share them with you. Hopefully you will find them entertaining and/or informational.
Ever since I was a kid I have enjoyed building stuff or putting things back together again. I am self taught and work on these projects, including these videos, mostly by myself. My brother is pretty good at lending a hand if I need it. Thanks Bro, lol. Please take a moment to look around and don't forget to hit subscribe and click the bell icon to catch future videos. Thanks for visiting. ua-cam.com/users/GregsGarage1

Great job! you just made my life a lot easier. Thanks Greg!!
@richardlabell6505 Thank you
great video man!
@JUDALATION Thamk you.
I can’t get the plastic piece to come off so I can bring it up 😒😡😤
@dannyordaz224 Maybe try putting the handle on first, then holding the front down for better leverage. Good luck
Thanks. Basic and simple explanation!!
@GMC6969 Thank you
Would of been easier to just weld this holes up and drill new ones start fresh.
@garysgarage.2841 Thanks. I had actually thought about that. But I did not want to do a bunch of welding and grinding on those brackets.
Insanely helpful on a 65 econoline I’m working on for the boss, thank you!
@michaelmarcus509 Nice to hear that. Thanks
Excellent video buddy. I’m looking to buy this exact Jack and watched a few videos. Yours was definitely the best as far covering even the smallest of details . Like socket size , hydraulic fluid you used etc. may seem like no brainer for some but not me . I need all the small details. Good job 👍🏻
@Mark-dq6lr Thank you for the kind words.
I used the gateway mustang kit main reason the tubes had treads for the bolts on my 59 f100 onmy f100 62 i made my own tubes with treads in them but used outlimit top brackets thankbfor you videos
@PeterHatch-mx7zc Thank you. I think I might try and make my next set as well.
I have four of these 6-ton jacks, and it is nice that I made the right choice. I purchased mine in 2014 and have used them often with no problems; the welds are still firm. Thank you for the update on these ProLift Jack Stands.
@truthisnotrelative7438 Thank you
Very well done and thorough video. Thank you
@The_Avacado67 Thank you
Very informative présentation. Thanks for sharing
@lazarousjam Thank you
Thanks!
@Dwigt_Rortugal Thank you
What happens if you dont add the oil?
@daewoo14 the owner's manual says if it is low or has air bubbles it may not work properly.
Nothing will happen. It makes the same amount of pump to its highest point out of the box vs adding oil. My last jack I had for 10 yrs I never added oil.

Oil is low the jack won’t function correctly or it will function correctly for only a short period of time
The oil is $8 at harbor freight.. if you spend $90 on a jack I’m sure you can afford to throw another $10 at it.. happy jacking !
Nothing happens. I got the same one just started using works perfectly fine. If I do come across any issues I will follow those steps.
Good video
@wyattflp6163 Thank you
My fittings came with o rings in the package, are they necessary?
@anthonymr921 -an fittings don't normally use o rings. You might want to check with the company you bought them from.
I want to get one of these , but a lot of people are having bad experiences after long term use. People are saying it leaks and make all kind of noises.
@MelodyTymee I had my first one for years, never had a problem.I did have to add fluid to it once. Not sure if anything is different about the new one. I guess time will tell.
Had mine for 10 years this year. It had only started to leak and creak last year. For what’s it’s worth, it’s paid off for itself. Going to get me one this Black Friday.
I did read some of those reviews of people having bad experiences with this Jack but, keep in mind there are 40 to 50, 1 star reviews explaining some bad experiences, there are about 1800 5 star reviews on very good experiences with this Jack. Those one star reviews did give me some concern but I went ahead and bought one today anyway. I did ask the employee about needing to add hydraulic fluid before first use and he said, he has not heard of having to add any oil, so I did not buy any, hopefully that wasn't a mistake.
Get the Daytona version. My friend has had 3 Pittsburgh and they all don’t work and they’re newer than my Daytona.
@@Onedeepdrew that's odd. My last one is 10 years old, still works.
Thank you for this, now does anybody know where I can find a -3AN to 3/16" compression fitting? The smallest I can find is -4AN to 1/4 inch.
@johnwyman6126 Thanks. Don't know about the -3an. Good luck on your project
Subbed, excellent video and exactly what I needed to see.
@paragodful Thank you.
I do believe I saw a tear fall as that red Ford drove away in the rain 😂😂
@_BYC It was a rain drop lol
Great presentation! I'm ashamed to say, but I need to say it, I nearly bailed in the first 20 seconds. It would've been a great loss to me if I had. Your thoroughness and clarity should be the benchmark for all others doing Tool use presentation
@milkywayan2232 Thanks you for the kind words
Very detailed and informative 🙏💯
@Random-qc9mp Thank you
This same exact jack is going on sale this black Friday 2024 for $89.99
@cruznfl340 I happened to see that as well. Thanks for the share.
I just bought it for $89.99 yesterday at Harbor Freight 😮
@romanp1085 ITC privileges.I'm getting mine tomorrow Friday when they open. EDIT: Got mine. And there were plenty to spare.
Picked one up this morning. Great deal. Had to make a 2nd trip to get hydraulic fluid doh!
@ChadSmithakaCCG I just got mine today together with the jack oil and the small 4 pc funnel set to top off the jack. $89.99 is a deal too good to pass up.
Thank you
@mynorfigueroa7287 Thank you
Pretty cool bud
@_BYC Thank you
Very helpfull😊
@christopheruren7741 thank you
It helps to lubricate the "barb" portion of the fitting when assembling too as that has to push down inside of the rubber hose. Also most recommend that you leave a credit card gap between the two parts. It looks neater to align the sides of the hex vs what you have done as well. Also good idea to start the masking tape BACKWARDS then flip it and tightly wrap it. This will prevent fraying even futher. Overall good overview on assembling these.
@greenkouki Thanks for all the recommendations.
Other videos I've watched say to leave a small gap when running the nut down. I assume so it can be swiveled a little if the angle needs adjusting.
@robfromtoledo9514 I always tighten it all the way down. I would think that would cause leaks. Let me know how it turns out. Good luck on your project.
Learnt something new today.
@carlyletom301 that is awesome
FINALLY!!! I found the channel to go to when Im ready to throw a wrench through my windshield. You cant be foaming at the mouth mad and watch this channel.
@shawng7902 Thank you
Thanks dude. Doing this for the first time, was a little confused until this vid. Perfect.
@brockowen1 Thanks. Glad to hear it helped.
I have a 65 also . My grille is black from previous owner . Does the grill come off ? I’d like to paint mine white too ..
@Cdawg1871980 Yes the grille does come off. You just have to remove all the bolts,headlight doors and headlights. Good luck on your 65.
is this applicable in hydraulic application? it's a hi pressure hydraulic compact tracked loader.
@maxamps45 I am not sure. If you are able to, ask the manufacturers you getting them from. Good luck
Thanks, Greg. Nice logo.
@Naseemtheking thank you
😎👍
Liked your video .. thanks :) Trying to understand difference in 9" rears between posi and non-posi. I just bought a project which included the original axle housing .. axles complete but with 3rd member removed .. a 1961 Thunderbird. Was hoping to get familiar 9" rears/maintenance so I can redo my T-bird parts-n-pieces with a 3.25 posi third member. Also have several GM projects I would like to use 9" rears in. One is an H-body Pontiac Astre. Another a Firebird. All posi hopefully. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Keith
@kithwalden7718 Thank you. Sounds like you have a bunch of exciting projects. This video series was the first Ford 9" I had ever worked on. There is a lot to learn and a lot of tools involved. Check out this series by @cartapes1601 ua-cam.com/video/8w4VL1zmTEQ/v-deo.htmlsi=QOXrfYObn80ot55P . They look a little old but they have a ton of good stuff in it. Good luck on your projects.
Perfect video
@himesjon Thank you
Excellent video
@Runair14 Thank you
i can hear the spit moving around in your mouth. disgusting.
Pretty good content & definitely saved a few buck. Thanks and keep em coming. Im tackling this project next weekend 🔧😎
@browntacks708 Thank you
No problem im at the same stage now. By chance do you have a footage or Pics of how you you ran your brake lines on the calibers and and the 9 inch housing & did you use the ford explorer emergency brake lines ,thanks im working on a 67 Mustang coupe 💨
@browntacks708 I do have some footage I was working on. But I am between projects and it wont be done for quite a while. I cut off the back half of the explorer perches and welded them to the new ones and used two short explorer e brake line. I am still working out the kinks. You can Google Dazecars. He has a pretty good write up on mustang ebrake. Good luck on the 67 Mustang
My fittings came with o rings, is it necessary to put an o ring in between the fitting when tightening the fitting to the hose?
@SBdunks3 I am not sure what setup you have. AN fittings don't usually use o rings. Might want to check with the company you bought them from.
This stuff sucks. 3 tries and can't get it to go in without fraying
@MikeJrOfficial yeah that happens and I agree it sucks when it does.
If people are wondering or questioning this 37 fare is the proper method and how we do it in the field, boats, race cars, brake fittings. The Farrell can work but will fail after repeated use, the flare lasts for ever basically.
@user-nf3oq2ge3g thanks for sharing
What a voice...
Yes Sr very helpful, thanks a lot.
@izzycamaro thanks again
Thanks for the great video. Just what I needed to see, thanks for not having any music.
@izzycamaro Thank you
Great video, Thanks!
@iddddaduncan Thank you
@@midlifecustoms I did my Broncos weatherstripping right after watching and it went great.
@iddddaduncan That is great
Super helpful 👌
@harryhall4954 Thank you
In aviation, compression Fittings are not allowed, a flare nut and a sleeve is the way to go.. some systems require a double flare job on the tube done by a special machine
@Airman.. thanks for sharing
I want to get into aviation
Can I just brake the lock
@tripyj2 not sure what you mean by a lock. It is held on by a nut on a threaded stud.
