I think Pendulum and SOM are similar in style but SOM are largely the superior group. Pendulum started off as a heavy metal group that experimented in dnb that's how they got their fame so it wasn't their forte. That's why they like to experiment with styles other than dnb and even attempt to mix guitar riffs with dnb. I particularly don't like their winy vocals. They would be far better off following SOM's lead in developing a mix of sounds and melding it into a clean, rythmic and varying style
