Finding Crakes

While they are still incredibly rare in the UK, in recent years two nocturnal crakes, Baillon's and Little Crake, have been found calling in wetlands in southern UK. Here's what you should be listening out for on calm late spring and summer nights.

I never seen one but I heard them in the field at the back of my mother's house when I was growing up in the fifties in dublin they just remind me of my childhood
