I had my first experience of New Zealand last year from a cruise. I managed to see quite a few of the birds you featured, thanks for bringing back some lovely memories.
I understand your concern but birders feeding albatross from a boat is common practice worldwide and makes absolutely no difference compared to commercial fishing. If birders stopped doing this, albatross would still follow fishing vessels
