I find that phrase annoying, but it's 100% applicable here.
It must be annoying to realize you can still be befuddled by certain players at Prag's level.
Bananas opening and bananas tactics Rapport slalomed thru just better enough.
It's almost like losing to the bongcloud in a serious tournament as a 2740.
Yeah, must be annoying to Prag that this can still happen to him.

Rapport is always so creative, his e5 and Qf4 ideas would never work if a player of Pragg's calibre had enough time to think it through, but he knew that with time pressure, those visually scary connected passers could swindle his opponent, and it worked. Imo it really shows how resilient those super GMs are, able to find unexpected resources in such objectively hopeless positions

Black's light square bishop had been a silent spectator and a bad bishop for most of the game until when it turned to become a martyr in that one move!
It's like this bishop and its comrade the queen-side rook have been the back-benchers ridiculed by all of their team members for not being useful for most of the game, and then it is revealed that they have been scheming all along to bloom late and to come out not just alive but also to save the day for everyone in the end! What a beautiful story!

I felt sad as an Indian for Pragg but this game is one of the many instances that I love Rapport and Dubov so much. They attack fearlessly, if it works it works, but they don't play for a draw, they have no pressure and got nothing to lose, that's why I love Alireza too.
