A quiet move that sets up a quiet move. Resigns.
True story nice move I missed the Battery good thing he didn’t 😅
Quietception 🤫
Μπράβο Νικόλα!! Such a pity 0 greek media mention success like this one. But Agad is always there for us!!Thank you sir🇬🇷
απλά νικησε ενα παιχνιδι
Ahhh the guy is Greek?!! Really well played by him. He kept his cool even when his opponent kept on blitzing the move in classical and took advantage of the over-confidence. Btw I love Greek. Lovely country with lovely language ❤
This is why I love your pause the video moments man lol.. usually ill guess wrong, but whenever i guess right, and feel all good about myself making a 2700 type move... you go and explain i guessed it right for the WRONG reasons lmao, love it
😂😂😂 Happens to me also, I usually guess right based on instincts without calculating all the variations
Hey Agad please take a look at the game between Saleh Salem and Vladimir Fedoseev #Suggestion

He sacrificed a rock then queen then rock … incredible attacking game!

Another wellprepared masterclass attack from Theodorou!!! Greetings from Greece
The bishop from the other room:

@@mubaraksenju7521 🤗
Whenever White plays d5, with a pawn on e4, he always seems to get good attacking chances. Way back in 1969 Spassky played d5 against Petrosian's Semi-Tarrash Defense and played e4-e5 next and won game 5 of their World Championship match. In that game Black had played Nc6 instead of the Nb-d7 as played here. Thanks for a good show.
Proud for our Nikolas!!!@GR
If this was played against Kramnik he would have accused him of cheating
Time to do the procedure
For real, it was such a clean defeat too. Kramnik won’t be able to handle it.
Interesting ...
In the previous Sharjah masters Arjun destroyed Theodorou with black in the opening, one year later he gets his revenge
In impressive style
Arjun definitely look down on his opponent. He forgot that 2.6k elo guys can still beat him if he ever made a mistake.
@@mubaraksenju7521 why do you say he underestimated him?
Always fun when the underdog schools the high rated player.
our good friend the bishop
Please cover saleh vs fedoseev. #suggestion. One of the most exciting games i watched + immortal sacrifices to end it..
Also RC8 is met by RE8 with a mate in one.
Once your eyes wander on Qg6, you fall in love with it
...i did take back all my moves.
Μπράβο Νικόλα!!!! Πάμε γερααααά
Well done Nikola!!!! Let's go old
I am being honest, nobody makes chess content like you. Keep up the good work!
I believe that most top players are just good at chess. They invested a huge time and effort into this game.
But there are a few between them who are true geniuses, and Nikolas is one of those geniuses.
"On move 18 we have a new game". This is the kind of thing that soured Bobby Fischer on classical chess.
What soured him was he came back and got smoked after 20 years of inactivity.
He had to memorize theory and openings in his day too, it just wasn't comprehensive.
If Magnus stopped playing for 20 years and returned, the chess world would have passed him, too. The game evolves, the players either survive or go extinct.
Bobby chose to go extinct. Dudes like Garry evolved.
@@douggieharrison6913 Who smoked him?
His problem was that their is not creativity left, it's all memorized.thats why players like Mikhail tal are so looked upon, tal was a creative genius@@douggieharrison6913
@@douggieharrison6913ahahah wtf
@@douggieharrison6913 wtf r u on about??? Nobody "smoked" Bobby at his comeback, seems rather like you just smoked something. He won the rematch just as convincing as the first match, in spite of the fact that Spassky kept playing throughout all these years and Bobby didn't. Bobby's problem with Chess was EXACTLY what @coxscorner mentioned above, that's actually the reason why he invented 960! Man, why not educate yourself a bit before posting nonsense?
What about Black does pawn d4, Bishop c2, then Black plays pawn d3. The pawn is protected by the Rook on D7.
you'll still be down the exchange - losing the rook and [a passed] pawn for a bishop, as the queen still guards d3, and that's not going to do your world much good :)
[ i did ponder this line myself - so i upvote your question :) ]
If d4, any rook move is a discovered check and is winning.. One line can go Rf6+, Rdf7, Rxf7, Rxf7, Re8# or black sacrifices the queen and both rooks and would be queen vs bishop endgame which is also completely winning
@@damienknight5655 oh, ofc, that too :) I mean that pawn was in the way for a good purpose indeed :)
@@IngieKerrd4 just loses to a number of discovered checks . There would be no reason for White to play Bc2 after that blunder .
@@damienknight5655 Good line. I will have to play it out over the board. I am unable to visualize it like you guys :)
Could play d4,bc2,d3 then prevents the mating idea
5:16 Such a bold line with Bd1 Bh5 Be8, the bishop is like a DVD logo bouncing on the edge of the board. Maybe only engines can figure these moves out.
Beautiful
3:47 If e3 takes e4, game over for black. Incoming b3 to e6 and it's over. If sacrifice not accepted, just material win.
No one will believe me but I was rooting for Theodorou before the start of the tournament, I had a feeling he would do well
why is it so difficult to believe that you were rooting for a player?
@@cz19856 because he’s not as well known as other players in this tournament and he had a good start
I don’t believe you

Our good friend the bishop !
Hi Agadmator,
this is the first comment I leave so let me first of all say thanks for your awesome videos. I really enjoy them and watch them basically every evening since some years now. However, this time I would have a question: couldn't Arjun move the d-pawn down to block the bishop-queen connection. Once the bishop takes the pawn, the rook takes the bishop and the queen the rook. You are down the exchange but still alive (although still in a worse situation of course). I was just wondering. Thanks again for your great work. Cheers
YES🤩🤩! I stood up and celebrated when you confirmed the correct move, I'm so happy to have found it in 3 minutes
Honestly, it's the same difficulty as the online puzzles I've solved recently, crossing 3200 in cc yesterday😅
Idk why,but the thumbnail fits so well with that one song from ABBA
"Lay all your love on me"
For those suggesting the response
.... d4?
the response is
Re7+
and it's checkmte to come next.
Even if the rook retreated to stop bishop c2, you play it anyways because if queen captures your play rook check and after RxR, the black queen hangs❤. Loveet
I blurted out Qg6 without even thinking. Although I didn't see Bg6# right away. Anyway, the best part was the hypothetical bishop maneuver from b3 to e8 via d1 and h5, and then Re7!
Just watched the Alireza's win 1 second ago lol
It’s almost like Magnus wanted him to win? Crazy how Magnus wipes everyone out of the tournament then gets btfo by Alireza. I dunno.
What about D5 to defend against BC2?
That way you can block with D3 and give up the rook and pawn for the monster bishop and follow up with RookDF2 for counter attack chances.
D4 Re7+ followed by Qg7#
NIKOOOOOOO 💜💜🤘☕
Where's the link in the description to the previous game?
Dude it’s the first link in the description, like he said 5 times
#suggestion Vladmir Fedoseev vs Salem Saleh: Sharjah Masters Rd 3. Queen + Rook Sac. Will be a fun game.
At least Arjun hat plenty of time for lunch/dinner after the game.
Nice Niko...
So chess has not become a lousy game as Fischer claimed and memorization sometimes leads to tombstone...
You forget to analyse some games of Rashid 😢
When I saw Rf8 I was like: nah... It's just losing so badly... Lol
For the pause the video moment, the first move that came to mind was Qg6, and the second was Rxh6... 🤔

The flaw of attacking players is that they are too confident in their defensive capabilities... He accepted all pawn sacrifices.. encouraging opponents idea is not the way

Μπράβο αγορίνα κιας μην σε δείχνει κανείς
I can't find the link for the game against teimur rajadbor
What about pushing black pawn to D-4?
don't forget where the white queen is, else you'll be down a rook and a pawn for a bishop if you're thinking of pushing d3 :)
Why Not play Pawn to d4 and then to d3 to block White Bishop

I don't understand why arjun moved his rook from f8 to c8 and after the Queen move why don't he take back the rook to f8???
The guy that takes back a move in chess will pick a pocket? I better watch Gary Kasparov if I ever see him around. 😅
Why not ...Rc8? Doesn't that stop Bc2?
No. Re8+! and mate next.
Rc8, white plays Re8+, only move is Rxe8, then white plays Rxe8#?
@@TheJayman760 Thanks.
Why can't arjun bring back the rook behind the queen to stop the light bishop from forming a bishop queen battery
