I hope someone can get to him to get those ticks off. He looks quite weak, probably already anaemic 😟
A couple apples with a decent squirt is all he needs poor thing
That was my 1st thought. They need to set out some food or a salt lick to keep occupied so a vet from a sanctuary or animal control can help sedate and treat it.
@@Kageoni187 child it's just some ticks, it doesn't need intervention only medication.

What do you propose we do? Send out teams into the woods to make sure that no ticks reproduce ever again? Or are you willing to sacrifice your body as a home for the ticks? Should we also knit little sweaters for the mice and rabbits? Should we pay for bear-feed with taxpayer money? Do we need to build houses for the wolves? Does a moose also need a psychiatrist and massage therapist and optician? Where does it end?
Just let nature be part of nature. Ticks were here before you were born and will continue to be here after everyone you've ever know has been forgotten and lost in the sands of time. You can't force the natural world into your view of civilization.

He looks weak .anybody, somebody got to help that frail moose. Sad indeed
Poor animal. Most likely anemic. Wildlife authorities would most likely eurhanize it.
In order to help it the animal would have to be sedated for hours to remove ticks & treat it.
Moose are incredibly powerful.
Treating this animal would be a threat to human safety.
I'd say it's winter but not cold enough to kill ticks is a problem for all Wildlife in that region. I feel terrible, the pain it's in!!!
The winter old only kills about 20% of ticks they are incredibly hardy. They can survive 2-3 days under water without dying.
If I find any on my dogs, I put ethyl alcohol on them....ether is an anesthetic....and it causes them to release and I pull the whole damn thing out and pour some more ethyl
alcohol all over it and kill it by crushing it to pieces. The alcohol helps alot.....it sedates them somewhat.

Call local Game and Fish. They can sedate the moose and spray those ticks. That’s just not a way to let an animal die. It’s slow and horrible. Not to mention they’ll drop off and continue to infect other animals.

Idk what ticks are tbh but let's hope you ppl have this much sympathy for a homeless human being
This boy needs a flock of cowbirds
how do moose remove ticks in the wil, or try to, etc?
Probably just wait for them to fall off when they are done feeding or rely on birds to pick them off.
They dont sadly many animals lack any effective way to remove them. Many bird species will pick them off larger animals. Bird beaks are great for removing them and it's a easy meal for them.
I wonder if it crosses a deep river/lake if it could drown them 🤔

Ghost moose. This is caused by living around a high whitetail deer population in warmer climates. Sad
He definitely sat somewhere he shouldn't have sat. OUCH. 🥺
Put it out of its missery ,
This is a problem in Northern Maine there’s no vet to call. It’s because of climate change these moose are covered in tick’s it’s not been cold enough to kill the ticks. And moose like this one suffer we’ve seen moose so covered that the ticks look like sunflowers, like the middle of sunflowers. Just like this poor young moose we’ve seen them with many more ticks they eventually die, but it’s a long slow death. So for everyone that says call a veterinarian you can’t begin to pick ticks off a moose these are huge wild animals . If you want to help these magnificent animals think about what you can do to stop climate change.
