      That was my 1st thought. They need to set out some food or a salt lick to keep occupied so a vet from a sanctuary or animal control can help sedate and treat it.

      Yes he was, I've seen animals ask for help from humans
      They go where humans live(yes it's rare)& they will hang around until help does arrive(which I doubt if any1 ever called this in especially the person recording this. The young moose was asking him for help but he was more concerned about how much money he was going to make

      Never say never......a tick was attempting to
      latch onto back of my scalp and I felt something and it was a damn tick....I grabbed it and pulled it off me before knowing what it was.....I was sitting in my car.....must've come off of one of my dogs.
      Don't know if it bit me or not but went on antibiotics. Got the whole thing out.
      Hate those damn things.

      What do you propose we do? Send out teams into the woods to make sure that no ticks reproduce ever again? Or are you willing to sacrifice your body as a home for the ticks? Should we also knit little sweaters for the mice and rabbits? Should we pay for bear-feed with taxpayer money? Do we need to build houses for the wolves? Does a moose also need a psychiatrist and massage therapist and optician? Where does it end?
      Just let nature be part of nature. Ticks were here before you were born and will continue to be here after everyone you've ever know has been forgotten and lost in the sands of time. You can't force the natural world into your view of civilization.

      @@SeekerGoldstone I'm not sure that's the base of the concern. We wouldn't know that this even was a "problem" had the video not been posted on a viral video channel.
      Videos like this one are helping a culture of people who's aim it is, to WATCH the planet fall into peril. There are just people out in said world, who don't like that culture and don't want to promote it.

    This moose is asking for help and I pray that while he's still walking good enough and having a decent amount of weight on it and still eating, that wildlife vets step in. He's looking weak, but likely strong enough to survive. If the person who is recording didn't notify anyone of this situation, shame on you. This is very disturbing and heartbreaking because clearly, he is in need of help before the temperature drop to where the ticks will fall off. I get tired of people talking about it's nature taking it's course. Why did God provide man with knowledge to be used to treat his creations if He didn't want help to be provided to them?

      Its called nature. The animal looks close to death because it is so old. Very elderly moose you see here long past its life expectancy. No need to call anyone nature will release her soon. If you had any knowledge you would understand this is nature taking its course. You would kill all those tics without a second glance but feel like the moose is your brother lol.

    The ticks are out of control in North East nowadays I'm just assuming he there cause I no how many tickets there are in are woods nowadays it really is Hitting the point were its making it hard to even enjoy camping or definitely bringing my dog on hikes with me . Even with ever natural an non nature things iv tried not much works nowadays cause there just so many

    My cat had a squirrel in his mouth so I rescued it only to be grossed out at the ten thousand fat ticks all over the squirrel.

      Hope you had your cat checked......in its mouth and all around it's head and neck.
      If I had a cat would never let it out to roam,
      not knowing if he was ever coming back home. I ' in NJ not far from NY and there are ticks all over, and alot of coyotes roaming the streets. Saw one one afternoon walking my dogs just around the block. Used to get some relief from the really cold winters but now not getting
      cold enough here anymore to kill the ticks.
      Climate change......things will only get worse. :( 😞 😓

    I would not be surprised if the skin in that area is borderline rotten with all those ticks in one spot. Poor thing, looks to be a bit of an elderly moose too

      @@joepiro7318 animals dont have many options for a quick death. Basically its get eaten alive by predators, breaking a bone and starving to death, or becoming elderly and weak and dying slowly. A hunters kill is probably the easiest way for an animal in nature to leave this earth.

    And I thought it was bad when I woke up the other morning with a tics head buried in to my inner thigh..my doc told me it's only bad IF they're full of blood and they've been engorged in you for 36-48 hours. I feel horrible for that beautiful creature. It's ironic how such a massive strong beast can be taken out by a bunch of teeny tiny insects.

    My Pastor said that God loves everything He created but I asked myself,why did He create Pests such as Ticks,Mosquitoes,Roaches,Snakes etc.Were they created because He loves them also? Certain things I simply don't understand.However,ours is not to Question God.

    Poor animal. Most likely anemic. Wildlife authorities would most likely eurhanize it.
    In order to help it the animal would have to be sedated for hours to remove ticks & treat it.
    Moose are incredibly powerful.
    Treating this animal would be a threat to human safety.
    I'd say it's winter but not cold enough to kill ticks is a problem for all Wildlife in that region. I feel terrible, the pain it's in!!!

      The winter old only kills about 20% of ticks they are incredibly hardy. They can survive 2-3 days under water without dying.

      If I find any on my dogs, I put ethyl alcohol on them....ether is an anesthetic....and it causes them to release and I pull the whole damn thing out and pour some more ethyl
      alcohol all over it and kill it by crushing it to pieces. The alcohol helps alot.....it sedates them somewhat.

    Ticks are the worst . He needs to let the crows or cattle birds have at them. Hope he gets help quick he is weak .

    That moose acknowledges the humans existence and went to the side of the car to confirm he’s looking back and then turn around to show him the ticks as of he’s trying to ask for help! Is he trying to communicate and give Signs ?

    Call local Game and Fish. They can sedate the moose and spray those ticks. That’s just not a way to let an animal die. It’s slow and horrible. Not to mention they’ll drop off and continue to infect other animals.

      Probably just wait for them to fall off when they are done feeding or rely on birds to pick them off.

      They dont sadly many animals lack any effective way to remove them. Many bird species will pick them off larger animals. Bird beaks are great for removing them and it's a easy meal for them.

    This is a problem in Northern Maine there’s no vet to call. It’s because of climate change these moose are covered in tick’s it’s not been cold enough to kill the ticks. And moose like this one suffer we’ve seen moose so covered that the ticks look like sunflowers, like the middle of sunflowers. Just like this poor young moose we’ve seen them with many more ticks they eventually die, but it’s a long slow death. So for everyone that says call a veterinarian you can’t begin to pick ticks off a moose these are huge wild animals . If you want to help these magnificent animals think about what you can do to stop climate change.
