@@g7edwardo I´m really interested in doing that. I´m just waiting for a better rate between usd and Reais (my local currency, which today is 1 to 6 plus taxes). That makes the price really high for us here right now.
"Charge more upfront and then don't worry about the little things." Definitely. Clients hate those little invoices here and there.
Only if i came across this earlier i wouldn't have to lose a project. I quoted something then regretted as client added more changes.

I rent Tents For large corporate events.
When I started I undervalued my tents so low, and I was always treated like trash and they expected more.
Years later I started charging so much more and have noticed a huge difference.
Clients treat us with more respect and are very thankful at the end of the event.
I dig interviews with Blair SO MUCH.

Pricing is always a scary thought for me.

"I'm afraid to charge more because what if I won't have any clients!"
Pricing is a mind shift that will take the business to higher levels.
I don't understand how you aren't exploding in popularity. You create INCREDIBLY USEFUL CONTENT. This is some of the most valuable information at a business or financial standpoint.
Chris has been around for years. I think with COVID a lot of people started looking into the space and just now finding him

well if you listen carefully the man in the book said you don't even have to provide more value then you already do. Its like when you have someone thats buying you have value their. Like The futur said its a little thank you letter in the form of money.
I like this guy. He gives me the courage to charge what I need to feed myself without guilt. I was brought up under the mindset that it doesn't matter how little one gets paid, as long as you get the job, and if you don't get the job it's because you're being too greedy and you must requote them lower till they accept.
The last metaphor about how to break out of our own prison cell with pricing is pure gold.
This videos don't just show you the person you CAN be, the show you HOW to be it. Amazing.

He really does have present. Chris has pretty good present but compared to Blair he seems like a newbie in how cool and present he is. You get a clear vibe of this is not someone you can mess with.

After watching this specific video for the 50th??? Time I felt like my ‘1’ like ages ago seemed no longer enough.....
There are so many facets here that it’s taken me a year of actual business to start using more than just a few. I have read WWPM 2x so far and the second time 75% more of the book made a lot more sense than the first time when I was completely green. Both this video series and the book (Win Without Pitching Manifesto) are great primers for anyone starting a new business (creative or not).
Your legacy will be how you treated your team members. Some clients may remember you, and generally no one is going to remember you for the work you did.

I need these conversations. I started focusing on making product videos for Amazon sellers about two years ago and started out as just accepting free product as payment. Then I timidly began asking for 20-40 to make the video. Now I'm up to $125 for a basic video which is likely still too low but each time I raise prices I feel better about doing the work and less resentment about changes and other things.
Time to skip to next four rungs :)
I would raise your prices by 15-20% per client and make it into a good looking show case on your website.

Good company is apparently what I've been drawn to... Just before I watched I just priced a product and gave it a round number ending in zeros! It just looked cleaner and the product is a clean product so it made sense. Thanks for confirmation amen.

Regarding Blair’s general fee of more zeros vs. Chris’s more specific, we tried both and the specific fee works better for us.
I think the application depends on the market, service, and reputation. We’re a relatively young architecture firm so clients feel more at ease knowing there was some basis with the computation. I do agree that fees that feel solid or have more zeros show expertise, but it may apply to companies with more experience.

Regarding the price debate:
A specific price with a 995 or whatever ending implies just what you said, a discount. Following Blair's idea of charging a premium, in market economics a full round number signifies a premium product. Louis Vuitton will charge 5k for a handbag, not 4995.

@@thefutur thank you, I actually been watching for quite a while, and I gotta say, I really really enjoy these videos and I am going through a lot of the phases myself in which I am finding my "ikigie" sorry if I spelt it wrong, and again a lot of these videos are continuing to be very helpful, I'm actually learning from a few now.
It's really cool that someone responded back to me.
I think the conversation between precise and round numbers could go deeper. What Blair says, of giving a big round number, you need more arguments to defend yourself or put on your long pants and assume a "take it or leave it."
23:48 SaaS companies do this for clients, no reason why artists can not do the same! Good tip!
