I loooooove Dr Idriss❤❤❤❤ It was love at first sight when I saw her vogue video. She inspired me to use glycolic acid and my skin has never been better❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Doctor Idriss is amazing! Her advice has really helped my skin. I haven’t tried her products yet, but having seen the difference in my face lately after creating a routine based on her recommendations, I want to try. I like her deep understanding of the science behind the skin and her no BS approach, I feel like I can safely trust her products.
OMG yes!!! Obsessed with Prequel! The gleanser is some kind of magic, it feels amazing all over (even super oily face). Face and body lotion, hand lotion, foot lotion, all perfect. Thank you again, James!
Love the gleanser, but the sunscreen is horrible! Sunscreen looks like vaseline on the skin & pills even when used on it's own. Stick with the cleanser.
Dr Idriss is an absolutely amazing teacher and I have seen great results with her Major Fade serum and active seal moisturizer since December as it comes with a refill. I was also impressed with how long it lasted since I just had to rebuy the moisturizer but luckily I realized Sephora carriers her now!
@@ak-vs3vpno I’m using it daily but now they think about it I have been keeping it to my lower cheeks and forehead where I have hyperpigmentation. Yea so I guess maybe it won’t go as far for the whole face.
The only reason I've even started a skin care routine is because she can talk to me like I'm 5 but in the way that makes me feel like I'm actually helping with the mess I'm making while I figure it out

Great video. For me I think some of the dermatologists like Dr Idriss and Dr Shaw; because of being UA-camrs/Influencers, they watch people like you, Lab Muffin, etc, read the comments, and are more aware of what we are looking for, and have tried products from around the world. VS my regular derm down the street knows nothing about K/J beauty products, and sun screen filters other countries use. All that thirst for knowledge, mixed with experience, gives them a leg up in creating things we'd like. I'll have to try that lip balm, still looking for a good one. So far I'm loving Dr Idriss products
Remedy for Lips is beyond blissful. The Gleanser is my daily. The Sun Barrier didn’t sit well for me, but my preteen fell in love with it. And I’m now obsessed with the Hand Wrap. And Dr Idress is my Saturday morning ritual. Loved every second of this video. Thank you for making it.
I am SO glad you introduced me to Prequel. It has quite genuinely changed my skin in the best way. The Gleanser is truly incomparable - never have I ever used a face wash and felt like my skin was MORE moisturized afterwards. I was so shocked and impressed that I went back and ordered a few other things - the spray (outstanding), the hand cream (literally perfection), and the vitamin c serum (in the backlog to replace a current one). I've been eyeing that redness relief serum, so I guess I'll just add that to the cart for next time. I can't wait for them to release a lip balm... seriously it is such a good, reasonably priced brand. Just 10/10 I hope everyone tries it! Thank you James ♥
Yes! Finally Dr. Idriss on your channel. She’s the absolute best and her products have made huge improvement on my much uneven skin. Thanks for giving us your honest opinion James.
I follow all three of these derms and really love their content. I am also obsessed with Prequel! I have purchased and repurchased so many of her products. I always have spares so I will never run out.
Loved this review James! I’m also a reactive, rosacea skin type and Prequel skincare quickly became a holy grail line for me too! I have almost every product and just reordered a few things! I do love all three derms mentioned. They are great channels to follow. Dr. Idriss Hyper Fade serum is amazing. It works very well yet doesn’t cause rosacea flares or burning for me. I’m so happy! A lot of active serums are too much for me even if I buffer them. But I’ve been using that one consistently for a year and counting. I haven’t had a chance to try Remedy yet but I definitely want to get my hands on the lip balm! 😂
Prequels hand lotion is the best thing I’ve ever used. I have the driest sore hands and not only does it make them feel just normal, there’s no sticky feeling after. Also it has some barrier it leaves on the hands so when I wash my hands , I don’t have to reapply. So thankful for this product!
I once stayed at an Airbnb in San Diego , and someone left a moisturizer from an English dermatologist. I think it was Dr. Sam Bunting, it was amazing I loved it.
I love everything Dr. Idriss! I will purchase the flash mask over and over. I put it on at night and my skin is glowing the next morning. James!! You hit the nail on the head with the Remedy lip balm. I couldn’t figure out how describe it! When I first put it on, I thought, “oh, this is watery and it’s not going to last 5 minutes.” But no! Put it on at night and wake up with the product still there hydrating it’s little balm butt off. 😁. I love it! Oh and the Experiment lip balm is one of my new faves, too. 💜
I wanted to share my experience with Prequel’s customer service. I ordered the gleanser and redness relief cream. When I received my order, the Gleanser leaked everywhere. I contacted their CS and they replaced my order promptly.
Dr. Sam's is a UK-based derm brand that I've been enjoying! I like how she combines numerous common actives into just a morning and an evening product because it makes everything super easy. I'm always a sucker for fewer products that do many jobs
I just bought the Dr. Sam moisturizer and a vitamin c. So far, I love it and it is the only vitamin c product that I have been able to use on my sensitive skin. Wayne Goss got me turned on to it and I will be repurchasing it.
You put me on to prequel a few months ago. I have rosacea and will never be without their cleanser and face and body moisturizer. The products are huge and amazing. Even when I've gone a little hard with my tret and my skin barrier is fucked, the prequel doesn't sting my face at all
Yes, I love that the Remedy product has Kojic Acid and Transexamic Acid to fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation as well as licorice root to soothe. Add in the retinol and it’s a perfect product. I’m currently using two different products to cover those concerns and this enabled me to go down to one product. Plus, it’s less expensive than either of my other individual products, so I’m saving money to boot! I can’t wait to try his KP lotion.
I was so impressed by it, it's done wonders for my aging, sore skin. and I work at a low budget non profit and can afford it! I'm a heather too lol. We got the BEST movie lol!
I just love how very different the concept of cleansing is now compared to my “yoof” in the 80’s and 90’s. I could never strip my skin and learned from the lovely Japanese and Korean ladies I worked with about oil cleansing and sunscreen. Tretinoin came a bit later. Now I’m in my 50’s, I can see a huge difference compared to other Aussies my age.
Arnica is great! Its general purpose is to improve blood circulation. Whether that means helping accelerate healing a bruise by bringing in repairing nutrients and clearing away dead cells, improving blood flow to legs (an issue a lot of women face), or in this case probably helping with blood flow to the face, removing puffiness by allowing any packed fluid to move out as it should.
I absolutely love Prequel. I really needed some barrier repair, and their ointment is incredible! The urea lotion has made such a difference on my face, but I also use it on my arms and legs where I have psoriasis and it has helped so much. I love their products, and they're huge lol I used to really love Dr. Idriss, but I can't handle her filters on some of her videos anymore. Especially when she's promoting her line. Just not for me. She isn't the worst offender by far, but there's something about a medical professional using a skin blur filter while talking about being 40 and how great her products are. She doesn't use them all the time, which is why it's so easy to tell when she does, and it feels slimey.
Being in the UK, I’m surprised you haven’t reviewed dr vanita rattan’s skin care line - she even debuted with a sunscreen. Please let us know your thoughts on this.
My sentiments exactly about vitamin C!!! Least favorite active to try to incorporate. Thanks for this video, I have been wondering what to think of these brands.
I lost my Remedy lip balm and flipped out too. Now that I have used it, I can’t go without it. It is my go to Night lip balm after I apply my collagen eye cream to my lips. It’s been the best lip combo. I wake up with the softest lips, and no icky stuff like some other lip products.
The way you describe the Remedy lip balm is EXACTLY the way I would describe the “Avene cicalfate + restorative lip balm.” The Ulta near me keeps it in stock so maybe that’s another option for those who are unable to get their hands on the remedy lip balm. Also, the “la roche posay cicaplast barrier repairing lip balm” is amazing. It gives you the same after effect with out the initial “wet” feel.
Fab video James - I had wondered how on earth to get hold of the Dr Idriss' stuff so your tip was great on the international shipping aspect although I will have to save to get her products. Prequel sounds great too! Thanks again 😊
I live outside of the US and the only way I can do it is a) get myself when I travel there or b) have someone bring back for me. There are websites that allow you to have US-only products forwarded to you if your country allows (mine does not.) Dr Idriss just started shipping to Canada, not sure that helps. They haven't started int' shipping yet but have plans to apparently (which won't help me.)

So far I really like the Remedy dark spot serum. Great formula, affordable ($40 vs Dr Idriss $70), fragrance free, doesn't pill and comes in an airless pump bottle!! Just stupendous. the Prequel Vitamin C serum sounds amazing too :)
I found this video so helpful. I love how you speak very clearly and precisely while also keeping me engaged. I also have sensitive skin, rosacea and reactive eyes. Thank you!

Hi James! Have you tried MDAiRE by Stefani Kappel MD? It's medical grade and i love that she explains the science behind all of her products. She doest do sponsored videos. I'd love to see your opinions on her products.
I am slowly getting back to using actives and I purchased Dr. Idriss products during the Sephora sale. I can’t wait to start using them as I have melasma. I’m starting with her drugstore recommendations and then moving on to her products. Thank you for this video and reassuring me that her products are bomb. Now I’m curious about remedy and prequel as well. I will do some homework on those.
I also got Dr Idriss products during the Sephora sale. I’m enjoying them. I am incredibly sensitive to all forms of vit c, but her moisturizer is wonderful and I’m tolerating it. I just reordered a new one yesterday. I also have melasma.
I bought the Prequel Gleanser after seeing one of your videos. I've been using it for a couple of months ths and have seen a HUGE difference in my rosacea. I haven't been getting the little pustules that have been persistent for years for me. I won't be without it now.
I am obsessed with active seal moisturizer from Dr.Idriss! Can’t leave without it-way better than paying $150 for active vitamin C formulations in dropper bottles imho.
I don't know how niche it is to be obsessed with your favourite lip balm, but I know I would love to see a video all about lip balms/oils. My one favourite is the peachy pink lip perfector that begins with a J and ends with an R- when Covid first hit I couldn't get more of them (shipping issues!) and it was awful. Inspired by you, and enjoying other products from there, I bought the Laneige- Gummy Bear one and like it a lot, but I have one and don't need to stockpile more, so that tells its own tale. Any kind of plumper irritates my lips so much I can never use them, ordinary lip balms sometimes irritate too; the comfort level is what I seek, and I can't be so dependent on Jouer, what if they discontinue? I wish we could get the products you talked about here in the UK, and thank you for the ship tip. Do a video about Lip Balms, please 👄🙏
I love it too but the samples should last me! I already buy & use glycerin in my routine, as a humectant for diy face mist & other safe DIYs. Never occurred to me to boost my cleanser, so I usually do that & save gleanser for travel or exhaustion. But I feel a little guilty because these products are very reasonably priced for actual health skincare, and they give a sample everytime. I am so not a person who stans celebs or companies, so I feel weird lol. But that company is so fair & provides value for the cost, which is getting unusual. I'll prob buy a big gleanser at some point, tho, my blends work 100% but do not feel like liquid silk foaming into clouds...
@@standdownrobots_ihaveoldgloryI'm encouraging you to purchase the large Gleanser. You know you like the samples already, and you know you can't beat the amount you get for the price, so why not just go for it. I plan on ordering a couple more just to have backups because I'm that addicted to it!
I know influencers have worldwide audiences but it is frustrating when (in my instance) European ones promote products that we cannot get in EU. I mean how do they get their hands on it? PR? Which is fine of course but still frustrating. My favorite european makeup artist promotes Merit makeup, it is only available to UK residents. 😢 But I guess it happens all over, I guess i am Just jealous we can’t get it 😂

The prequel soothing serum is green bc it has green pigment in it (chromium oxide greens). I think it’s a smart idea, even if it doesn’t provide a ton of correction.
Prequel definitely changed the game for me. The gleanser is magic. The vitamin c doesn't burn my skin like others. The sunscreen is the only sunscreen that doesn't irritate my skin, though it does pill, so I have to be very careful. I can slug with the ointment because it doesn't suffocate my skin like vaseline. I use the utility gel under my eyes every morning and night and sometimes on my forehead to hydrate and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. The cream immediately soothes my skin and I usually use my retinal with it. I haven't tried the new serum, but I will get it next paycheck. I've also been listening to Dr Idriss and using Triple Paste at night. Another game changer, but I can't use anything under it, so I only do it every other day.
Apparently now, mine only eats tinted balm w SPF and my good gel stains that I can apply one handed, no mirror. Greedy dang bag. The bag cost $4 at goodwill and eats $15 a month in lippie, I swear lol
I LITERALLY paused this video and went to the Prequel site added things to my cart (about $80USD) only to be absolutely HEARTBROKEN to find that they’ve yet to start shipping to Canada. 😭 Why?! Then I go to Dr. Idriss and while they do ship to Canada, it’s quite a bit more expensive than Prequel so… I’d rather wait for Prequel and hope they don’t stupidly hike up prices for CAD purchases.
I been following Dr Idriss on UA-cam I love her - you explained it perfectly So I got nervous because I just ordered the depuffer and the 3 fade away for my melasma So I was happy to hear you like her products I never heard of prequel going to look into it because it seems to be really good for sensitive skin and affordable as well I love watching you Always honest and I learn a lot . This is actually my first time commenting 😊
Hi James, I have not been watching your videos for long. I think I’ve found you in the last year. Thank you algorithm! But, I just love your videos. As a fellow rosacea sufferer I alway feel safe taking your recommendations. I purchased Decalt on your recommendation and have never looked back. Love!!
Thank you for this! I have slight rosacea prone skin and it’s hard to know what is going to be beneficial and what’s going to be harmful for my sometimes flushed and always sensitive skin. I’m definitely going to be looking into the Prequel brand specifically.
Prequel rescued my skin when aging & a long sub-zero (AMERICAN zero, not celsius chilly) winter wrecked my face. The products feel luxurious, the packaging is great, love the skin health before aesthetics message, but am genuinely moved by the price point. I needed something in between gold bond & ole henricksen, in terms of healing power & efficacy, and something more preventive than ole, and i got a price point only a bit higher than Gold Bond & Aquaphor. What?!?! For me? I get the good stuf!?! Seriously, she's not my fave influencer, but i am a loyal customer after just a month and a half. Not only can i, out here in the wasteland, afford this great stuff but she's making product that works when dust storms are a thing in your life and you need ultra light full protection! ❤❤❤ Prequel so much
Excellent and very helpful video! Thank you James! battle of the derm brands next 😂. Hope the celeb skincare trend is over … as if we need more junk on the market from people that have no idea what they’re developing.
Omg prequel!!! And that gel!! Ok so you did a video on it, and I went out and got a couple products, they sent me a free sample of that cleanser, and I love it! I use it daily and I still have some of the sample left, I love love love. I’m going to buy it and more of their moisturizer too.

I get it from Walmart $14 in US idk where it’s at globally but you should DEFINITELY check it out if you haven’t already
I’ve spent a year healing my rosacea and am very wary of trying new skincare. But I gave Prequel a try and now we are having a love affair. I have every product and can’t wait to apply them everyday.
I lost my last favorite balm/gloss and then it was discontinued. After a long search, I just fell in love with the topicals balm. As part of my skincare regimen, it’s not about to leave home for me to lose it. Milk’s new kush lip oil is my little side piece
I LOVE prequel! The Gleanser and redness reform have helped my sensitive rosacea prone skin so much. I I have tried almost all their products and love them all! I can’t wait to try remedy as well!
I bought Prequels moisturizer, it's incredible. They gave me a sample of the face wash. I just bought a full size cleanser. It's changed my skin so much in 2 weeks.
Glad you like both the Idriss and Prequel cleansers. Note they don’t contain the DE suspicious six. Neither do the other Ellis or Idriss products. Imagine that. I still can’t use the Prequel cleanser because of the CAPB, which I’m allergic to and was named allergen of the year by the American Contact Dermatitis Society in 2004. Unfortunately CAPB use has increased logarithmically since and it’s hard to avoid. I do love Prequel Barrier Therapy. The Idriss cleanser is drying on my dry skin so I can only use it a couple of times a week. My skin does best with Deviant Cleansing Concentrate.
I actually hadn’t heard about prequel but it definitely sounds great, the think i like the most about it is that from what i see the pricing is great considering the amounts and typical skincare prices. Can’t wait to get my order & try them 🖤
I have been using Prequel Universal Skin Solution (hypochlorous acid spray), Dr. Idriss Depuffer, and Prequel Redness Reform (in that order) twice a day for a month now and my rosacea has never been better! I don’t even use my prescription now. I even went to hot yoga and my face barely flushed.
I love Dr. Idriss approach. Very educational and entertaining. Not sensational with her content! Havent tried her products yet but i have made some changes in my routine based on her recommendations . My skin does feel better and my skincare budget is more reasonable 😊
I feel you on that tantrum James. That was me with my Aquaphor because I bought the 198 g one and use it in my lips daily (it still barely seems like it’s been touched). I was so close to bawling my eyes out until I realized I just put it in a different pocket; it’s usually in the big pocket so that it’s visible🫠.
I hope Prequel are more available in the UK soon! I like the idea of that serum roller in Summer. I swear every time you talk about Prequel I want more of their stuff! That moisturiser looks so good, and the spf yikes

Are you using it sparingly? Mine lasts me 6 weeks max
@@ak-vs3vpno I’m using it daily but now they think about it I have been keeping it to my lower cheeks and forehead where I have hyperpigmentation. Yea so I guess maybe it won’t go as far for the whole face.
Ever since I started watching idriss I’ve taken her tips and my skin definitely looks better.
Me too
Agree! She’s amazing!
The only reason I've even started a skin care routine is because she can talk to me like I'm 5 but in the way that makes me feel like I'm actually helping with the mess I'm making while I figure it out
J’ADORE Dr Shereen Idriss! She so authentic and great sense of humor. Love her products as well💖

Dr Shah not Shaw. He's South Asian 😊
I’m so excited to hear your Doc Idriss review 😮💕
Well, now I can take a break from my James Instagram binge with a James UA-cam vid! What a nice day!
Remedy is amazing !!!! I am so upset I didn’t take before pictures but my god! Drastic change in clarity and fading of acne scars that are months old
Are you using the remedy for spots? Can you tell me which one do you use?
@@DivyaKulkarnii’m assuming the remedy for dark spots will be used for acne scars
Prequel is actually amazing. Their products are such a pleasure to use for somebody who has quite severe dermatitis
I have so many products from the other brands to try too. Love them all
So glad you did this video! The market is so overly saturated. 💙
Dr. Sam's is a UK-based derm brand that I've been enjoying! I like how she combines numerous common actives into just a morning and an evening product because it makes everything super easy. I'm always a sucker for fewer products that do many jobs
Isn't Dr. Sam American?
Not Dr Sam Ellis but Dr Sam Bunting
Dr. Sam is also not a dermatologist, but she is a doctor.
Edit: Bunting
@@pearse9533 True, she’s just a doctor with a skincare line, that hires dermatologists at her practice but isn’t one herself
Thanks! Great information. I've been on the fence about taking the Prequel leap. Here I gooooooo! 😁
I was so impressed by it, it's done wonders for my aging, sore skin. and I work at a low budget non profit and can afford it!
I'm a heather too lol. We got the BEST movie lol!
@@standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory Heathers is a classic! 😁 Thanks for the note.
Prequel is AMAZING! The gleanser and vitamin c are the best!
I love their products, and they're huge lol
I used to really love Dr.
I love that Dr. Sam really tried to keep prequel affordable for everyone while still DELIVERING
Love your calming voice James!
I love Dr Idriss. My skin was already in a good place but it's even better since I started following her tips, like using Triple Paste overnight.
Definitely agree! I LOVE all of these derms! Thank you for reviewing their products for us!
I love dr shereene idriss i use the depuffer and major fade serum
@@spideywoman5196 Thank you 😀 I am in the UK and will need to save for these. They are due to drop in the UK, I believe, by the end of the year - I will need that much time to save for the products and shopping fees !!
@@anniewhitmore7627 I think they're worth it especially if you have discoloration. I didn't have much but have seen great improvement in small sun spots. I use the whole Major Fade set and have been very pleased and hope you are, too. The Flash Mask has become a holy grail and the Hyper Serum is fantastic. You can probably do without the Active Seal if you already have a moisturizer and vit c product you like but I didn't, so I use that, too.
@@spideywoman5196 Her range sounds fabulous and especially being fragrance free which suits me. Thank you for describing the products you use that is really helpful 👍😊

Hypochlorous acid spray is making my life itch & sting free, and the skin utility gel...what???? OMG game changer. I love & need protectant skincare, never thought there would be an ultralight product doing aquaphor duty!
Thank you!
Dr. Idriss is the only dermatologist I know that recommended Rosewater with Glycerin. Best thing for my mature skin.
One of the things that keeps my red cheeks happy is a humidifier in my room. It has helped my sinuses as well.
I am also obsessed with Prequel. The products really do help to calm my rosacea.
I typically use Korean sunscreens but tried Prequel and it is so lightweight and doesn’t sting my eyes.
Hi James! Have you tried MDAiRE by Stefani Kappel MD? It's medical grade and i love that she explains the science behind all of her products. She doest do sponsored videos. I'd love to see your opinions on her products.
Medical grade isn't a real thing.
Thank you so much for your feedback now I’m looking forward to trying them.
The Flash Mask by Dr. Idriss is AMAZING!!
Oh I want to try that one.
@SaraAshley116 I highly recommend it!! I use it twice a week, and my skin feels amazing after!!
FACTS! Been using the series (except depuffer) since it came out and it's awesome. Hands down the flash mask is the best, though.
The flash mask is amazing 🤩
What does the flash mask do?
Nice review. I’d love to see you review Dr Youn’s and Dr Linkov’s skincare line as well
Yes! Dr. Youn😊
Correct on the SPF creation & manufacturing. I am intrigued by all of these brands.
Lovely formulations. Checking them out is a MUST.
The Gleanser is my holy grail cleanser! The price, the amount you get, and the formulation, ate all magnifico!!
Agree!
As soon as Remedy launched i immediately bought the lip balm. I have it by my bed. I’m wearing it now. I really like it. It really stays on too.

@@mrizzygreen second this!!! Would buy the entire range 😭
Asia keeps getting forgotten about too. Although we do get like Japanese and Korean skincare easily and cheaply so trade off I guess.

Yes!! Every Time: I wait for that. Kkkkk
Aaah the handbag struggle. I swear mine eats my fave lipgloss/balm 😭😭🤣
Apparently now, mine only eats tinted balm w SPF and my good gel stains that I can apply one handed, no mirror. Greedy dang bag. The bag cost $4 at goodwill and eats $15 a month in lippie, I swear lol
The only cleanser i use on my eyes is the Selfless by hyram cleanser. It doesnt hurt or anything, and it gets all my makeup off the first time🙌
I LITERALLY paused this video and went to the Prequel site added things to my cart (about $80USD) only to be absolutely HEARTBROKEN to find that they’ve yet to start shipping to Canada. 😭 Why?! Then I go to Dr. Idriss and while they do ship to Canada, it’s quite a bit more expensive than Prequel so… I’d rather wait for Prequel and hope they don’t stupidly hike up prices for CAD purchases.
😢 devastating news
That remedy lip balm is the bomb! Hate the waxy balms (Chapstick, Burt’s Bees, etc.). Lips actually feel hydrated, not just protected.

I bought Prequels moisturizer, it's incredible. They gave me a sample of the face wash. I just bought a full size cleanser. It's changed my skin so much in 2 weeks.
Feeling so meta watching this while putting on my prequel skin protectant cream (and I also have rosacea!)
I'm also totally obsessed with Prequel as well! Everything I've tried so far has been a 10/10, which is verrry hard to do. OB-sessed.
I love Dr.Idriss and her Skincare products. I use them and they honestly work. 💜🤓
I hope Prequel are more available in the UK soon! I like the idea of that serum roller in Summer. I swear every time you talk about Prequel I want more of their stuff! That moisturiser looks so good, and the spf yikes

Have you reviewed Dr. Murad? I feel his line is a tried and true brand that is constantly developing new products to address even more skin challenges. Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I really needed it! Question..Which cleanser would you say is more hydrating? Dr. Idriss or Gleanser?
James’s videos are a good reminder for me to do facial skin care ❤
Hypochlorous acid is the only thing that helps my acne without making my sensitive skin red as a tomato. I buy it as a "pet wound spray" though. Same ingredients but waaaaaay cheaper than the ones that are marketed as skin care 😊
Oh man, I’m with you on Prequel. It’s excellent-I had high hopes for these skin care products and they surpassed them. 👍
