While I think the roster is not quite what people wanted, there's still a huge cast of awesome characters. Everything is so gorgeous and I'm REALLY looking forward to playing. (Also, Mario Kart 8 comes out 3 days before my 21st birthday. Getting drunk and playing mario kart sounds like a good idea right now!!)
Does the roster really matter that much in a Mario Kart game? If they aren't in smash, then I don't care if they're in Kart

Oh come on Josh, we all know no one asked for those charactors, but Nintendo never said they wont suport DLC in the future, there is still hope. And besides, you shouldnt be focused on those things, you should be amazed by everything else that is great about this game that we learnt today, such as voice chat, new courses, upload replays to UA-cam, post them on Miiverse and download them from your friends. And the amazing deal you get if you buy and register your game, you get another game FREE. Josh, Nintendo has grown over the last few weeks, their directs and marketing has become funny and entertaining, they have listened to their fans and have been preparing for E3. Dont be focusing on the negatives of Nintendo, focus on all the awesome they are puting out for fans like us!.... otherwise the Reggie Filsa-mec will kill you with his eyes... just sayin.

That's actually the N64 one. They never reveal the rainbow road for the new mario karts.
Mariyo 1:27 is the new Rainbow Road, notice how the track is in the shape of an 8 as in Mario Kart 8

To those of you saying there will be more unlockable characters, there won't be unless there's DLC. They said in the Direct that this is the final and complete character roster. But it won't bother me, I'll be playing as Yoshi anyway.
I really hope they make DLC for it, not really for new characters, but new races :)

This looks absolutely stunning. And people complain the Wii U isn't next gen... This looks better than anything I've seen on Xbox One.
I played a demo at Best Buy last July (unintended rhyme) and youtube videos don't do this game justice. It looks phenomenal running at 60 frames!

I don't see why everyone hates the metal characters, personally it makes me feel like a beast that might just kill someone while racing through the course.

The graphics are really impressive in this game. Almost look like cutscenes instead of in-game visuals.
I'm really loving the amount of detail Nintendo is putting into the new tracks. That track at 1:03 might be my new favorite track too! xD

This is probably the most gorgeous game Nintendo has ever developed. The graphics already look amazing on UA-cam, imagine how nice they must be while actually playing!

-No Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Bowser Jr., Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, Birdo or King Boo. They Got replaced by Pink Gold Peach (At least she's probatly better than Honey Queen an/or Wiggler)
-No GCN Wario Coliseum (I was hoping for it)
-I hate coins as an item (i think it's useless)
Overall, I'm still like this game and I'm getting it.
Coins are how you unlock a lot of kart parts though

Am I the only one that loves when they do original things in their games? I mean it's fantastic to have classic stuff but what's the point of a new game if its that same as the last one. Like PinkGoldPeach looks so epic, but everyone is just hating on her. We haven't even got to play as her yet to see if she's garbage or not.
That transition between the Bowser’s Castle music and Mount Wario music is perfect even to this day!

I haven't been excited for a game like this in a long time. Damn Nintendo and their great advertising this time around!
The bundle is a huge step in the right direction. Now advertise the crap out of this game by putting commercials all over TV and the Internet, not just UA-cam like they have in the past. This game has a lot of potential to jumpstart Wii U sales. Make it happen, Nintendo!
So we have the Koopalings, another baby character, and another metal clone. You know what that means? We need the combination of all three of these ideas and more:
DRY METAL BABY BOWSER.

Dylan Matloob I strongly disagree. Why not add new characters like Nabbit and Petey? (I know, Petey was in Double Dash) Or even bring back characters like King Boo and Diddy. That would have been more varied. Still excited for the game though.
