Used to work an extremely high stress job, coming home after work and playing this whole song on bass was so cathartic...literally would walk in the front door, go straight to the music room and thrash this out. When the song was finished I'd come out, grab a shower and some dinner completely at peace with myself. The power of music huh...life saving! :) Great to see you's back guys.
Was at the Eugene Show and don't need to tell you what an unreal experience seeing them live is especially the first show back from the shutdown. The rented the arena and rehearsed in the auditorium for two nights before the Jan 10 show. here is the set they played. they have been swapping Culling Voices for The Patient on some recent shows Fear Inoculum Opiate (tour debut; extended version) The Pot Pushit (First time since 2014, album version) Pneuma The Grudge Right in Two (First time since 2011) Hooker With a Penis (First time since 2014) Descending Intermission Chocolate Chip Trip Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Invincible
Wow - what an amazing set!! (I would have been a bit sad that they didn't do 46&2 (obviously), but they did it when I saw them in 2020, so all good :) Here's the set I saw: Fear Inoculum Aenema The Pot Parabol/a Pnuema Schism Jambi Vicarious Part Of Me Descending Forty Six & 2 Chocolate Chip Trip Invincible Stinkfist It was AMAZING! :) I like they they are mixing it up a bit and playing some rarer played tracks. Thanks for watching!
I always think this song would work well towards the end of the film "2001: A Space Odyssey", where Bowman is in the pod and gets pulled through a trippy lightshow and discovers the Jovian monolith is about mankind reaching it's next stage of evolution as he becomes the Star Child. Given this song is about the next set of chromosomes that would be needed to mankind to evolve to the next level I feel there's an interesting connection. Great choice though. One of my favourite Tool songs too.
I'm inclined to agree. To choose a masterpiece of the Tool catalogue is like choosing one's favorite child. However, this is an exponentially brilliant song. There is nothing that comes close to it. It's magnificent.
It's amazing how a band can do this "awakening" thing with a song. Since starting my own journey with Tool and other heavy metal bands, my mind has been blown so many times. Whether it's the lyrics, the transitions, the different rhythms, or the machine-like driving of the songs, it's all really organic and, now that I'm open to it, I can't get enough. Human beings will make any kind of music they like because it resonates with them and people are drawn to whatever genre vibrates with them. We are all "songs", physical manifestations of the Big Tone and to which our spirits are connected. Tool just is, like a tree or a cloud, and the Earth just births all of it into being. Aliens or not, people are so special, in their own unique ways. Thank you for your channel and, especially, Rachel's very sensitive and open responses.
Enjoy! I've seen them a bunch of times, but not that many! :) And yes, it's always exciting and amazing! I'm really hoping they come back this way once they are done with the US and Europe. Thanks for watching!
Envious of you guys down there in your short sleeves and sleeveless shirts, while I watch you, shivering here in the original 13 colonies...keep it up with the TOOL reactions.
Hi, I was going to but it had been taken down. Most of the Tool lyrics videos were taken down at some point for some reason. Thanks for watching though!
Happy new year guys, would you be game to try some European Symphonic Metal? Try Nightwish, a Finnish band with a Dutch singer, Ghost Love Score from the Wacken 2013 concert would be great...82,000 fans attended this concert. For quite a lot of people this band has been a life-changer. Try it,you won't regret it I promise...
Check Psalms 46:2. Aenema is about douching the San Andreas fault line and sending the west coast into the ocean. I understand the chromosome reference 100%. The album reference pushes further for me.
The premise is humans would deviate from the current state of human DNA which contains 44 autosomes and two sex chromosomes. The next step of evolution would likely result in human DNA being reorganized into 46 autosomes and two sex chromosomes, according to Melchizedek.

That and schism for me back to back. Best feeling the world!
Lots of great bass lines from Tool over the years. As a bass player who has spent time learning a few of them, I agree this is one of their best
Nice one!

Where is the METAL?🤘
Iron Maiden, Metellica, Megadeth
Hi, there won't be any of that on this channel I'm afraid.

Too bad! You should expand your horizons!
You'd get more viewers, and also get to listen to superior talent.
it was a girl...in the picture..a contortionist actually..
Yep, I think I remember reading that back in the day. Cheers
