As a retired Warden myself, you have no idea how many times I looked at the caller ID and said, "Oh Shit" just by who called, and I'm sure this S. Dakota Warden did the same when he received the call in this situation. I once had a guy (same attitude as the one above) who wanted me to arrest a couple of duck hunters for hunting w/o permission because they were in a boat tied up to a dead tree that had fallen in the the lake (government property) whose roots only were attached to his property . After I refused and headed back out on the main road, the sheriff's office was headed in. It seemed he didn't like my decision in the matter and called them. We stopped and spoke briefly. The deputy laughed and said he fully expected to meet either the highway patrol or state bureau of investigation on his way out. I miss my old job on so many levels, but I sure don't miss jerks like the one above.

@Nader Milite I can speak with experience here as someone who’s technically homeless. You can go far out to the country as you want but you’ll still be on someone’s property or a state park/forest. I know it sounds crazy but unless you go out west about 1/3 of the way through New Mexico, all land is farmland or privately owned in one way or another. These assholes have to buy acres and acres of land leaving nothing for anyone else. Now I suppose if you hike deep in a forest you’ll be fine but as far as the eastern half of the US is concerned, any land that’s cleared is off limits. If this is too frustrating for this MAGA tard, he should sell this land and get himself a nice HOA condo where he can get his old man butt wiped with all the luxury and city services instead of posing as if he was country, because I can tell, he’s not. Sorry for writing a book but this shit is personal for me.

I know from experience how dangerous this can get. A friend and I got shot at one time. We were dove hunting on land my friend's grandparents owned. Their neighbor didn't recognize our trucks, and came flying across the pasture towards us, and firing a .22 rifle at us. He said he was trying to protect every land owner around there. One of his rounds actually grazed the top of my friend's cap. When he finally realized who we were and what he had done, it was too late. I was pissed, and reported it to the sheriff's dept. I'd take his $ss to court. Cohersion, felony threats and hunter harassment. It's the only way some people learn.
Yeah, these back woods confrontations can get ugly. Same. Born and raised here and did a ton of duck and goose hunting growing up and I've never seen or heard of anything like this. This is just sad. I feel so bad for these boys. North Dakota has such amazing waterfowl hunting and this being their experience makes me sick.
They're already regretting skirting their responsibility to speak to all surrounding landowners (as they were told to do) before setting-up wherever the heck they wanted. The kids' comment in one video about how it's (paraphrasing) "the middle of nowhere" is evidence of his lack of respect for the landowners, whether known by him or not, and his party's sense of entitlement. The rancher tipped his hand when he admitted he was watching them parked on the hill the day before. He got himself all worked up over that and set out to confront them in the morning when they came out to hunt and that’s exactly what he did - he had no intention to actually hunt he just wanted to pick a fight, loves the power he feels owning that property and tries to lord it over his neighbors right up to their own property line every chance he gets
@@wadestanton what's he doing trying to hunt before leaving for Arizona anyways? Like he's going to limit out, and clean them all up and freeze them before he leaves? Not to mention packing for the trip? Ok lol
Without a doubt the farmer is committing extortion!!! The evidence you have on video will support that 100%!! If nothing happens to him you really need to push it with DNR. From what I could tell you guys were never physically on his side of the line. You’re good!! For trespassing to occur your person must be across the line.
Also, in North Dakota at least, that is also acting as an unlicensed guide which has some good fines. It's why hunting leases aren't really a thing here either. It requires the land owner to get a guide license.
Very true. The farmer clearly engaged in extortion (at least by our statutes in Oregon). The case can't really be made for trespass on the hunters (even 2nd degree criminal trespass). They weren't knowingly remaining upon the premise unlawfully. Even if some of the grass from their blind was "touching" his land, that does not constitute trespass. With over 25 years in law enforcement/public safety I can safely say I don't know of any officer that would cite for something like that- and certainly no court would find them guilty. Technically why does the land owner need to try and put a hunt together on his own land. I see the guys point, yes he got hot and didn’t need to, but that’s his right. just watching this video made my blood pressure go up. Hats off to you guys for handling a tough situation so well and not let it entirely ruin your hunt. I grew up and hunted in ND for decades until about 10 years ago. Maybe things have changed up there, but I never ran into a land owner who acted like that, ever.
it's all fuckin city boys who decide they wanna be "closer to nature" so they show up and destroy the hunting communities. it's not hard to go "hey guys I know you're already here, i'm the land owner on the other side, mind if me and mine set up with you? maybe help us teach the kids the ropes?" I don't know a true hunter on the planet who would treat people like he did, what a piece of shit.
Same. Born and raised here and did a ton of duck and goose hunting growing up and I've never seen or heard of anything like this. This is just sad. I feel so bad for these boys. North Dakota has such amazing waterfowl hunting and this being their experience makes me sick.
yeah a buddy of mine was just up there and ranted and raved how awesome the landowners were. We live in CO and good luck getting access anywhere.

He's such a delightful conversationalist, I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't have taken the time to chat with him the night before.
That's not how it works out there.

Extortion! That old crazy man saying that was a criminal act with intent.
Blackmail? Is that legal??
@@Asidebar was there a fine?
no black mail
Bribery is when someone actually did something wrong and is being asked for something in exchange for not exposing it. These guys did not break the law. You could argue it's not the best course of action to hunt on someone's border but they had permission so it's not blackmail or bribery it's extortion.

And I loved every second of it. Good content 👍🏼
Yep. He thinks that entitles him to all the game in the surrounding area.

You got one a.s.s Hole you don't need another one as a friend. That guy needs his gun licence taken away. Like a red rag to a Bull.
That farmer has a screw loose. I'm glad we on the "left coast" aren't the only ones with crazy people...
@@lonemadrone31 That's another hunter trying to claim a hunting spot. Came across a similar situation once - hunters in a big arguement over who got to hunt a spot on MY LAND and neither had permission. Took guns away from all three and told them to get them from the sheriff if they wanted them back.
I'm 52 now, back in the day he would have been picking up his teeth on his way out! Holy Crap!!!! Good for you guys handling it like you did.
I was thinking the same he got my pressure going up. Well handled all of you.
Technically why does the land owner need to try and put a hunt together on his own land. I see the guys point, yes he got hot and didn’t need to, but that’s his right. Why did the guys hunt so close to the property line. IMO that’s the biggest issue, walking a tight rope and not going out of your way to talk to the farmer before the hunt. Farmers are usually home everyday. I think everyone learned something from this hunt. Have a good one !
@@masscollc4854
Oh I agree, if he would have talked to them and been respectful to the young guys they could have all hunted together and if the young guys went and talked to the owner before driving that far and setting up in the dark before knowing the lines. I'm taking a guess though, I'm going to bet that the older gentleman wasn't the actual owner of the corn field, maybe a friend of the owner but not the owner. Even with the Game warden there that guy was a jerk towards the young guys. I'm glad that the GW got to watch the video to see how much of an a-hole that he was.

Literally all he had to do was introduce himself, say he's the owner of the corn land, and ask if he could join them and they could even hunt both sides of the land if they wanted from the same blind. If he was dead set on hunting he could set up close by and they could make a deal to run either side of it.
He could have hunted and made new buddies that day, instead he chose petulance and anger.

Not sure where you get your facts or info. I eat everything I shoot, as do the majority of hunters.
Dove hunting is allowed because of the damage they cause to agriculture. Dove can breed several times a year, if they weren’t hunted the government would have to do some other form of pest control.
Plus the amount of money that’s generated from Lic fees and gun and amo taxes is staggering.
With out this money, they would have to fire the majority of currency game wardens.
Reacting to any situation this way never resolves anything lol
