The homebrew community for old cartridge based systems is really awesome. I only wish we could use PROMs instead of EEPROMs and flash. Bitrot will take all our work sooner than later.

Hey, you said recipe correctly, congrats. A bit weird somebody decided to sell an older version of your game though. Even more reason to change the word starving to hungry to cut them off at the knees in terms of saying that was the unfinished version and this is the "real" finished game. Not sure if you are thinking about the next game to make yet, but I got a document for one involving pirates and what Final Fantasy might have looked like had Squaresoft used 3-D Worldrunner as a base instead of Dragon Quest II. It would also require expansion chips and battery saves. Would be the difference between early NES games like Super Mario Bros. and late NES games like Kirby's Adventure. Anyway, if interested, let me know.
One way to fight piracy would be to design the game around a special controller that won’t exist until the game is released… like a post you spin between your hands to start a fire with a little sensor you need to blow on.
Or just don't bother. It's a losing race no matter what you do. Anyone that's willing to support Memelvar would do so. Is it a shame that these rats are profiting off his work? Yes, but they always find a way.
I'm making a homebrew game as well (a Turrican-like game for the Game Boy Colour, specifically) so I'm paranoid as hell that some bastard on Aliexpress is gonna rip the ROM from the cart and sell it when I'm done with the game and undercutting me, so I understand the surprise. It's a bit disheartening finding out that an indie dev's game is just getting taken and sold like that...
Well at least we can hope that people who buy these pirate cartridges would never ever have bought a legit game in the first place. Good luck with your game!
Scum sellers are the worst! My other friend had his game stolen and sold on AliExpress too! If you start up a crowd funding to make physical copies of your game, we would 100% fund that endeavour!
Probably might be a good idea to crowdfund...but my game is not that amazing, just gonna make only few carts for folks that really want it. At least for now.

It may be possible to reflash the china bootleg carts with the final release of the ROM. Might be a route to a solution for physical release. Buy cheap bootlegs, update the ROM, rebox and ship.
This may be a dream come true for this seller, the cartridge is one of the rewritable ones that are sold with a Kazzo flasher. So in order to rewrite it I have to buy it, which I don't want or need. Besides it's already too late for that.
@Memelvar I could not clearly identify both chips. You could DIY your own programmer, or copy theirs. Or use a DIP Test Clip with a TL866 universal Programmer. I own one, and various test clips for flashing chips (PLCC and DIP) which is great for this sort of thing. I have found many china bootlegs of open source and hobby projects for sale, including my own. We understand the combination of excitement and heartbreak when discovering our work is for sale, and cheaper than you can build with current resources available locally. 💔 Don't get discouraged, let your childhood dreams of making a NES Game come true! So many of us have been watching you over the shoulder for a long time now, and we are so excited to see this to the end.

Labai pražiugino kad darai manualą, niekur neddingsi, manau reiks jau ir normalų PAL boxą sudizainint, manau mažiau ten vargo nei su manual, tik va ant kartono gero reiks spausdint, kiek jau kainuos tiek, kaip pamačiau manual norisi pilnos kopijos, lentynoj gražiai žiūresis ir bus kur manual įdėt. Greičiausai iš Ali draugų sulauksi ir updeitintos verrsijos pardavime, tuo 2025, tai skirtumas du metai tarp versijų bus, tai panašu į Demo versiją o ne į išbaigtą geimą.

I'm learning haha. It's a little bit too early to make plans for a new project, I guess. I'm not sure if I will do a game on a nintendo system next.
