Probably should make it a solid 5 times hehe. Currently only a couple systems are hooked up in the living room. I actually will pull systems from my sale and trade storage room and use those instead of the mint ones in the collection. I almost always have the basics available like NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc.

lol I forgot to mention that in the vid. We used to have a spread sheet that catalogued everything, but we stopped updating it when I began to pack it away for storage. After it sat packed away for so long, and new stuff was added, I couldn't keep up with it easily. I hope to go back and catalogue it better. At least it's all filmed currently hehe.

I thought you quit, so I unsubbed, I think I waited a year. Most people don't come back after that long, and I don't follow people on other social media sites, I use that for strictly real life friends and family, yeah I made it down there to Aaron's shop and all of the retro stores down there in florida, and it rained like ten times a day everyday the whole time I was there and it was humid.
Hehe yep, I just upload occasionally when I want to. I've been on tour a lot for the past 2 years, so uploads are sporadic. I will put up a new vid in a week or two when I get home. :)

As far as I know Earthbound didn't have an actual seal on it. Was the box shrink wrapped or did it have some sort of sticker sealing it?

I highly recommend checking out the last two albums they put out.
You probably get this one a lot, but I'm interested in making my own collection and I'm unsure where I can find proper sites that list complete North American Libraries for game systems. Do you know where I can find trustworthy lists? Also do you have your collection listed online anywhere like PriceCharting or anything?
Well Wikipedia is usually pretty solid when it comes to complete library lists. Some lists are pretty easy, like NES, SNES, N64, because they have been posted around the web sooo many times. Some of the harder ones like DS and Wii might show variances depending on where you look. I don't have my collection listed anywhere online.

It is awesome to see fans take up their game with game collecting. It makes me wonder if the professional gamers are big video game collectors themselves? That would actually be interesting to see.
I'd imagine some are, but I feel like "pro gamers" is a more recent thing in history, with a lot of it based around online only digital games.
@@Scottsquatch I always been a big super fan of games even as a kid. Like sports and games it went together with me mostly because i enjoyed to compete or just have fun with the games. I have seen some awesome game collections on youtube though. There is this Australian dude, he seemed to have even an entire arcade in his collection which is unreal. Big super fan of games appreciate the video game industry. It took me as a surprise you did not like Pokemon. Well all gamers have their taste in games though, but given how good Nintendo's game happen to be they appeal to all gamers. Personally The Legend of Zelda is a personal favorite franchise and I enjoy Metroid and the SuperMario Bros.

Here's my question... how the feck do you keep everything so dust free?! If I don't dust my game room every other day it looks like a nuclear dust bomb went off at the end of the week. Drives me insane haha
lol First thing is my cats aren't allowed in there. I also sweep in there a few times a month, no food in there, etc. We also play our games out in the living room, so no long term sitting in there shedding hair and skin. :)

Hi Scott just wanted to warn you that the clear case you are using to store & protect the games in are not advisable. They do more damage then good in the long run by trapping moisture in the cardboard box & artwork, from when it gets cold or is very damp weather. Which causes dampness & mildew to grow, it's better to leave them out to let them breathe. Have the room set up to an temperature control heating system to prevent this aswell. If you follow the Last Gamer channel on UA-cam you can get more information on this issue.

The room is temperature controlled with it's own AC / heating unit seperate from the main house system. Besides from keeping them from being dented or squashed, the main reason I use box protectors is to help protect them from Silverfish. The house is treated for pests, but occasionally they are found. The only damage I've had to the game collection in 30 years has come from Silverfish chewing on exposed cardboard and paper. Of course every house / game room is different, and I totally agree if they were in a place where the temperature wasn't controlled and changed rapidly in a short period of time, those plastic boxes would be a bad idea 100%.
@@Scottsquatch 👍 It seems your on top of it, I just wanted to inform you about the issues in case you weren't aware. Totally agree every house & climate has its own problems to overcome...
I remember my last home had silverfish & tiny red ants that used to get into my electronics, consoles. It was a nightmare & I never could get rid of them, tried everything. Professional exterminator's were useless & wanted to spray everywhere with chemicals without getting to the route of the problems. I learnt to live with them until I moved homes. The new build house that I currently live in had it's own issues from foxes & rats in garden, field mice in the cavity walls & black ants every summer. All of which I have found solutions for, until the next one.
Wow a fox problem at least sounds a lot cooler than Silverfish. lol

I really enjoyed what you said about the ps4 games, I find myself in a similar position where I tend to be collecting sealed games for the system. I dont see anything wrong with collecting sealed games for display and collection purposes. As you said digital can be so cheap and youre still supporting the devs!

Your N64 to OG XBOX story rings home. My wife bought me the xbox for my birthday when it came out, but money was tight for us as young couple with a newborn child and I had to sell my CIB N64 (that I got for my high school graduation,) along with my small collection of games: Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Goldeneye, 1080 Snowboarding, and Fighters Destiny. We are going on 23 years together and every year I remind her of that. :)

Awesome collection! Korn is actually one of my favorite bands. I have been following them since their Follow the Leader album and have had the honor of seeing them 3 times and have met them as well. Over the years I've picked up pretty much anything with their logo (from backpacks, lighters, imports, etc.) I'm sure its been a blast to work with them.

That was smart and lucky. In my early twenties I sold all my original consoles for far to cheap and it's something I still regret to this day. Sad thing it I didn't get a signature confirmation which was suggested at the post office and the buyer claimed they didn't get it so I pretty much have them away! 🤬😭
Damn that's terrible. I'm stopped selling stuff almost all together about 5 years ago, at least to complete strangers, because of things just like this.

Loved the video Scott, the room looks incredible! I have some concerns about having all of your valuable collectibles in a basement and in one place. Florida has a lot of flooding, do you have any plans for insurance for floods and fires? Glad you are back
We don't have basements in Florida, so no worries there. We're lucky that this new house isn't in a flood zone, our first was. I have a separate insurance policy just for the collection with a company that specializes in people's collectibles.

Jesus I would never own a collection like this... It's way to hard now a days to find any real deals. Far too expensive 😣 and I actively started collecting way to late!
The only way to really make it work on a budget these days is to sell and trade stuff to help with the costs.

I’m just curious to see how old you are since you’ve been collecting for 30 years? I’m 31 and I still remember playing a ton of Nintendo, Sega Genesis and SNES. I think you have probably one of the best if not the best collection I’ve seen on UA-cam so far.

dude, i was searching for : best horror for 360, and watched a couple of your vids from 2012. Def getting alan wake, and maybe a silent hill. IYO What is the hands down best for that system? Your collection is fricken awesome.
Glad you found my channel! Alan Wake would probably be my top pick on the 360. Silent Hill Homecoming has amazing boss fights. Deadly Premonition was fun with a very campy strange story, but it has been released on other systems as well.

Sometimes come across stuff for those systems, but there aren't many people looking for it and I don't collect it myself. I've been on tour for the last couple Halloween's, but looks like I can do some decorating this year!

For the disc based games, how picky are you with scratches? Are they flawless, have few/ some scratches, or doesn't matter so long as they are working? Or, do you have them professionally buffed so they look like new?
I usually won't pick up games for the collection if they are badly scratched. A couple of light marks are fine, they don't have to be perfect. The store I consign sell at has a really nice resurfacing machine, so I buff out any decent scratches.

Thanks! I don't pay attention to videos with people bitching about other people. I don't ask for money or donations, but I also never treated UA-cam as my job, it was just fun to upload videos. lol Nope, not sad or happy he left, don't care. Not involved in that insanity. That was an awesome tour, loved getting to hear Alice in Chains every night!
I'm actually thinking about getting rid of my game collection for about 4 or 5 years now. Lots of reasons for it but none have got anything to do with obtaining money. Basically it's about saving space and switching to pc gaming because it seems console exclusives are getting rarer and there aren't any lousy pc ports anymore and of course fairly good controller support. And considering the perks of digital copies I'm kind of like why? Why do I keep my collection that I haven't touched in many years. Nostalgia? Childhood memories? I'm definitely keeping my consoles and some games but I don't think I want to expand my collection. So why keep the old one? That's what I keep asking myself. It's still a hard decision.
But hey, what a nice game room :).

Is your lighting LED or Florescent? Florescent will bleach your items the same way sunlight does.
Because I'm not insane, it's LED. ;)

Plus they use such a small amount of electricity for how bright they are.
Do you ever go through your collection and just pick a random system and then pick a random set of games to play for the day? I would definitely think about doing this through quarantine with such a collection as yours. But if I were you I would start this challenge up with quarantine going on. In fact you could even team up with Woods from BeatEmUps & maybe a few other awesome individuals such as RGT 85 or Spawnwave, make some UA-cam content to release now or during the future of you guys doing this challenge going through all your games. You could even do some live streams or something, I literally have so many ideas & I do believe doing this would bring your channel so much more traction, specially with adding Wood to the series. Plus the memories that would be made would be priceless. Would love to hear a response.
